Away from the bloodshed in the galactic core many opportunities were being created from the chaos. For the unscrupulous type it was a time to take action to climb the ladder afforded by that chaos. Whether it be within the Core itself or beyond its tight borders. In the lush tropical world of Dubrillion it was largely business as usual. In its capital city the sun shined bright, seagulls flew overhead, waves crashed against the beautiful beaches, and old yet colorful landspeeders perused the busy streets.

Okuma stepped outside into the warm yet breezy air. He always came to appreciate such weather after growing up in the stale, sunless caverns of Quarzite. The Kage wondered if the dwellers of Corusant’s undercity might get to see the sun. So long as the conflict there cracked the planet’s outer levels open enough to let the radiant light into the shady underworld.

Pulling out a handkerchief he wiped away some crimson blood off his cheek. Thankful that by some miracle he’d managed to avoid getting any more of the fluid on him. Okuma looked back inside to just make sure everyone was dead. Seeing one of his targets slump off their chair and onto the floor with a heavy thud. It looked to be a mission accomplished.

Before he stepped away he closed the door behind him. Leaving the bodies of the political dissidents for someone else to stumble across. The Kage had been hired to deal with a local rebel cell within the capital, and bring a swift end to the den they used to meet up. Planting a bit of incriminating evidence to make it look more like the result of organized crime than something more politically motivated.

Walking down a tight alleyway, Okuma called his contact to let them know the job was done and learned that credits were now deposited. “For the sake of discretion we would like for you to leave Dubrillion at your earliest convenience.”

“Huh? You wanna get rid of me that quick? But it’s too nice here for me to wanna leave so soon.” Okuma teased over the phone.

“...We advise that you-”

“Well looks like the money’s in the bank now so I don’t work for you any longer. Take care.” Okuma cut them off before ending the call abruptly. Now that he was done working on behalf of the local despot he figured he could enjoy his time on the planet some more. As he just mentioned. The weather was too nice to make him want to move along already. As he walked along on a sidewalk the mercenary wondered if he should go to the beach, grab a drink, or something else. He had plenty of money to spend now and time to kill…

[OOC: Little more than a glorified beach thread TBH. Anyone can join. Come and enjoy the nice weather and warm beaches. Explore the capital city, or the lush ecosystem of this former Imperial/Sith world.]

Yet again, so far from the core. She couldn't really whine- there was an urge to be all angst given the occurring events around the galaxy but that could easily be forgotten given the serene surroundings.

After all, today was her favorite day of the week. She got to finally buy some milkshakes. Or was it malts? Well, both were delicious.

Despite working for the Alliance and having an absurd level of dedication to her job- like not taking vacation days, ever, and working when ill -there were times where a mandatory break was in order. Mental wellbeing- those were therapy days -and then physical injuries. Today also happened to be a physical injury day; a massive albeit healing scar went across her torso, enough to seem like she could easily insist it was some war-inflicted wound. Instead, it'd been caused by a mistake with a speeder, one which happened to have many sharp ends to it , that just so happened to go from zero to maximum speed while being repaired by her. Woops. At least bacta heals lacerations!

So, she finally had time to relax, wearing a sizable brim hat and generic swimsuit, having a mere holocommunicator to contact 'nearby' associates such associates being star systems away and not expected to arrive in a timely fashion incase things went wrong. The whole getup felt strikingly vulnerable compared to the comforting fabric of military-purpose gear, but why wear something so uniform and protective? What could possibly go wrong? Standing on some solid ground, leaning on a nearby railing overlooking the beach, she just kept to herself with an observant eye watching people pass by.

What a beautiful world! Ideal to do business and vacation at the same time.

Nobody would suspect the slender white furred Lepi with the cute large eyes to be a fearsome Mandalorian bounty hunter without her armor.
Clad only in a short skirt, a tanktop and a broad brimmed hat with hole for the large bunny ears, the small lagomorph looked like a normal party bunny.
Only the black armor boots, her ray-ban with high-tech sensors and a tiny disruptor in her glittering purse let the careful onlooker hint at a martial background.

Adi'ka Awaud walk at the beach, inhaled the clear air and nipped at a mixed fruit cocktail. Of course, she also observed at the same time a criminal, who was on her hit list.

But she looked forward to the evening with all the dancing and partying and flirting.

Okuma’s first order of business was to get himself a bit of portable shade. Eyeing a light locally made hat from one of many vendors that lined the busy street. He passed the credits there way and acquired a fashionable light brimmed hat made of finely hand woven straw. Affixing it to the top of his head he now had a bit of protection from the bright sun.

As much as the Kage admired the sunny skies, his gray skin didn’t. Easily burning up without adequate protection. The additional shade afforded to him by the hat should help in warding off the ultraviolet rays.

After Which the mercenary took a cap to the beach. The lovely shore had him wondering about needing to make dubrillion a more common destination for himself. Especially if the authoritarian government will be interested in hiring him more in the future to take care of thorns in its side. Sure, doing work on a massive urban planet in their lower levels was more familiar and comfortable for a Kage like himself. But he could grow accustomed to the tropical scenery.

As he strolled along the beach his singular yellow eye glanced around at the water, shells in the sand and many of the people around. His curious gaze noticed two other clearly foreign visitors. Short statured vulpine woman, and another short bunny girl. The contrasting species made Okuma smirked, amused over their presence. Mentally picturing himself in the setting of some old children’s fable.

The Amaran continued to relax and watching the waves, though the striking appearance of a lepi had her curious, you don't see many of those often. Or at all. And that fruit cocktail looked delicious! Those boots though... Zalia couldn't imagine wearing something so armored right now.

What had surprised her was the person she could only perceive as a human of very pale skin. Yellow eyes strikingly bright, much like the sun, easily identifiable even from a sizable distance away. She couldn't help but gasp in surprise at the color.

jdDa2xX.jpeg

Both of them seemed to be very capable people, combat capable no less. Probably used to dangerous occupations, frightening hazards, lethal situations... so Zalia couldn't help but be a little dumbfounded that they were out here. She was out here simply because of doctors note and trying not to worsen any wounds. But them? She couldn't wrap her workaholic mind around it. "I have the time, I can do some socializing, maybe I should ask some questions..." She then stopped resting on the railing and started making her way onto the beach itself.

It was dumb, it was perhaps against the code of the Mandalorians to strip the last bit of armor, but the sand and the sea were too inviting. She wanted to feel the sand at her paws. The water splashing at them. So she took them off, just as she saw the hot white near-human too.

He would be a match to her white fur, and she really liked the furless apes. An eye like the yellow glow of Mandalorian blaster bolts, the other covered by an eye patch. Dangerous. Nice!

And an Amaran was there too! So small and slender and a dangerous little predator who made her fur stand on end. She inhaled the air to get the fragrance of the two in all the exotic scents.
Amarans were fun to have around. Great party people!
And Adi'ka was seriouly lacking a fox and rabbit friendship in her life!

So she hanged her boots over the shoulder and went to the vulpine being. "What's up, Red?", she broke the ice, as she leaned at the railing too, sipping her drink. "Nice suit, by the way!"

All the time she had an eye for the acquise she was hunting.

While Okuma strolled along the sand he passed by a few individuals playing some game. Involving the knocking of a ball over a net between the two sides. As he walked past the game one of the players gave the ball an overzealous strike down on the opponent’s side. Attempting a save one of the players dashed down into the sand to keep it off the ground. The ball practically ricocheting off their arms and directly towards the unaware Okuma.

His Kage reflexes kicking in automatically. In blur he arm shot up to intercept the ball before it hit him in the face. Firmly holding it in one hand he looked at the orb before smiling softly. He tossed the ball up into the air before jumping up to harshly spike it back at the players. Mimicking the prior action that sends the ball hurling at one of the players, knocking back into the sand with the ball. Okuma wondered if perhaps he returned the ball to them a little too rough, but they didn’t seem hurt, just a bit stunned. So he continued along his walk.

His yellow I noticed now the bunny and fox interacting. Were the two perhaps unlikely friends? Maybe. With a friendly smile Okuma approached the pair. “Excuse me ladies, would either of you have any recommendations for tourist traps that I should avoid, or ones worth giving a look?” He said with a respectful tone to strike up conversation with the bunny and fox. Gently tipping his light hat as he did so. Presuming that like himself they too weren’t locals.

"Red?" Her steps came to a halt, head suddenly turning to see Adi'ka. The Amaran was yet again surprised, raising both brows- as if she really had any -and eyes widened by the social behavior. At least they both shared being smaller and more fluffy than the typical person around here. "Thank you, here I thought I was the only person with fur around here." Zalia's tone was noticeably cold, detached even "Are you here for any particular purpose-?"

THWUMP, a ball impacted near a net not far off where two teams were engaging in some sort of sport. Her ear twitched, interrupting her train of thought, one which stayed blank as Okuma approached and asked about tourist traps- something which went over her head. "Tall. Tall. Tall. Tall." Was all that she could think. While an incredibly trained and capable operative of a select bureau in the SIA, Zalia was unfortunately not immune to being in awe of others. That awe was now kicking in hard.

"...Your eye is very yellow." There was a moment where she drank from her milkshake while blatantly gawking, stopping to awkwardly add "And its really cool." in her usual cold tone before going back to drink, with her eyes maintaining a disturbing level of focus on Okuma's one eye, seemingly forgetting about everything around her.

Adi'ka let her gaze wander from tip to toe of the gorgeous, tall man, unlike the shy Amaran. "Hello there, smooth skin with the sunny eye. Red and I also were asking ourselves where to go next. Right, Red?"

Instinctively, the Lepi was in protector mode, as she recognized how inexperienced the foxlike being reacted. She does not want her to fall victim to an ape gigolo, so smitten as the Amaran seemed.

Meanwhile, on the HUD of her glasses, the link to her ship showed her a long list of Kage fugitives and a slightly shorter of fellow registered bounty hunters. No match so far. Interesting species! Slicers, assassins, hunters, adult holo actors. More reasons to protect "Red" from such bad guys. Girls like "Red" always fall for the rogue types. Adi'ka knew this too well. She did fall for them too.

No affiliation to her target. Good! It would be a waste to put a hole into such a pretty boy!

"The Zero-G-Wave-Pool is top-rated and the Underwater Club. What do you think, Red? Where to have fun next? The milkshakes are great at the Zero-G, I have heard, as are the space carrot cocktails for me. Life is like a carrot, you never know how sweet it can be until you take a bite."

Upon hearing the fox’s reply Okuma raised a brow curiously over her words. Her gaze seemed to suggest that she was pretty enamored with his vibrant eye color. Causing him to chuckle some over her saying it was ‘really cool.’ “Well thank you, I’m thankful I still have the one left at least.” He joked, referring to the concealing eyepatch covering his other ‘eye’. "I've heard rumors that vulpines are attracted to shiny things." Okuma teased the fox as he looked down at her with a knowing smirk.

Then his attention shifted some to the bunny. Looking down at her as she commented too on his eye. He was a little surprised with how much they seemed to take note in it. Possibly since it was the only real sign of color on his naturally grey features. She also referred to the fox as “Red”. Making him wonder if the unlikely duo were friends here on a trip.

“A Zero-G-Wave-Pool?” Okuma asked, that wasn’t really what he had in mind. He also wasn’t sure what something like a wave pool in zero gravity would be like. “An underwater club does sound nice. Likely some lovely marine life there to appreciate. Back home for me the fishes really weren’t all that nice to look at normally.” The cave fishes often have ghoulish appearances, colorless or see through skin. Until everything was dark and their bioluminescent bodies could show off their hidden beauty.

Okuman once more shifted his idle gaze back down at the Fox and Bunny and smirked. “I suppose if that’s where you two lovely ladies see yourself going later than I might wanna give it a look as well.”

The knife cut deep in the metal carapace of his target. It let out an audible hiss as the sharp blade made contact. They were always so easy… Did they really think they stood a chance? Red ichor ran down the length of its jagged edge as he removed it from the mark. It's a pity they were introduced to this life so young. The opposition slumped over having fainted during his assault. Amateur

"CHUG!"

"CHUG!"

"CHUG!"

Desmond let out a loud belch as he finished his can of bubbly wine.

"WOO!"

He shouted as he attempted to crush the can on his head and failed.

"Better watch out peepaw.." The fraternity boy next to him said quietly "Don't wantchu losing your dentures,"

The elderly Chiss dropped the empty drink in the sand and spun to face the insult but twisted a little too fast. He watched as the world seemed to divide itself a couple times and using his arms he steadied himself while the tide washed away the can.

"I won!" He shouted excitedly as the other university students picked up their drunken comrades and stalked away in defeat "Now pay up! Daddy needs some glitter stim!"

The college student shook his head and handed Des a small baggie. Desmond held the bag to the rich golden light in his drunken stupor and eyed its contents with the gaze of a true addicted connoisseur.

Oh yeah! Still undefeated!

Desmond chuckled merrily as he tucked the drugs in his pocket with a myriad of other less than legal tender. His cybernetic comms device began alerting him of a call and he sighed heavily.

"What!" He shouted angrily at seemingly no one.

Within a split second his ship's "AI" shot him a warning in binary about not throwing up on its floor again.

"I cleaned up the last puddle!"

The ship said nothing for a moment and then shot him a series of expletives that would make even the hardiest sailors blush.

Desmond shook his head.

"Come on man.. You're killing my buzz," Desmond frowned with a retort to the computer "I pulled you out of a trash compactor! What do you me-"

Suddenly his peripheral warning device began beeping. Desmond ducked with cat-like reflexes as a large meaty arm missed his head by an inch. He grasped hold of the assailant before the arm was retracted and Des flipped him over the blue man's head and rolled him into an arm bar. The bully crashed into the sand with a wheeze.

He didn't stop torquing the arm till it broke. The college student cried out in pain. Des shot to his feet and spun round to see if anymore were coming. The fraternity returned seeking redemption. Des' head spun again and he watched as the students split from eight to sixteen. Or maybe it was all the grog… He didn't like his odds against eight. But, sixteen of them!

Feth

"Yeah, very shiny things..." Was the closest Adi'ka or Okuma got to a reply. Actually, it was hard to tell if she was responding to anyone at all, seemingly distracted to the point of being utterly hypnotized by Okuma's eye and possibly that smirk helped "...very pretty." Every word unfortunately falling upon deaf ears. Or, in her case, distracted ears. Or perhaps not being used at all ears. She probably wasn't even aware what she was saying.

The trance she was in existed for as long as there was talking and for the moment there was none, she'd begin blinking rapidly and then shaking her head as if finally coming to after being unconscious. "Oh, uh, w-what? Right. Yeah! The uh, Zero-G club, I could do with a new milkshake anyway. Um, can we bring him along?" She asked Adi'ka, glancing at her before looking back up at Okuma "He seems very informed about sea life and uh... what planet do you come from exactly? I don't see humans like you often."

"Only if you are willing to share, Red! Sharing is caring!" It was not obvious if she meant the milkshake or the pale skinned mover and shaker before them.

Adi'ka searched the database of her ship about the Kage. It felt like cheating, but to appear streetwise and educated would give her new friend perhaps security and the man a stern warning the two furballs are not an easy picking.

"Not human, a Kage from Quarzit. A subterranean world with gloom and doom. Nasty neighbors they share their world with. Tentacelmouthed megalomaniacs with an unhealthy lust for young humanoids. No wonder the Kage are easily pissed and trained to filet seafood. Yo, vod, I feel you! If you ever need a bounty on one of these creeps brought in, call the Black Bunny of Death at the Hunter Guild."

The term "vod" and the Mandalorian boots the Lepi had slung casual over her shoulder hinted she could be a Mandalorian on vacation - how surreal it seemed, a cute bunny girl could be part of this fearsome warrior culture.

Okuma was actually rather surprised with how enamored the fox woman was with his eye. Her cold tone seemingly contrasted with it. But he did find it pretty amusing when she asked her friend if they could bring him along. He also wasn’t all that knowledgeable on marine life, part of why he’d actually appreciate seeing more. She also seemed to mistake him for a human.

Before he could correct the fox himself it seemed like the bunny beat him to it. His eye shifted over to Lepi as she spoke. “Wow, consider me impressed. Most people can’t tell me apart from an Arkainian or Echani.” The additional mentions of the ancestral war on his homeworld had Okuma quietly clench his fist rather tight. “Thanks for the offer Miss. But I’ve had my fill of fighting Belugans back on my homeworld.” He replied with a sigh. Not the mention he was banished from Quarzit for said involvement in the war. “Though it’s nice to have your sympathies.” Okuma finished with a soft smile, his body relaxing a bit again. He also recognized the use of Vod. He wouldn’t have taken the Lepi for a mandalorian.

Now the Kage mercenary was wondering if the fox woman had some surprises of her own as well. Perhaps an assassin, or some talented info-broker? "But to go of what you were saying earlier..." His eye looked back down at the fox. "If you wish I could be your escort for the evening." Okuma said to the pair.

Desmond watched in terror as the students charged forth to meet him. In the midst of their parade one grew the courage to roar out a ferocious battle cry "For house Alpha Epsilon Pi!" It seemed to bolster the fraternity brother's spirit and the charge began to gain traction.

Even the chonky Gen'dai who was wheezing near the rear picked up speed. Desmond knew he had to hide. The volleyball game came to a halt as the Gen'dai grabbed hold of the ball and threw it at Desmond "Epsilon Pi, SMASH!" He shouted, spittle spewing from his mouth, as the ball flew towards the Chiss at ludicrous speeds.

Des spun out of the way and continued running. He found an ice cream parlor swang behind it for a brief moment and grabbed hold of a large straw hat and some shades from another nearby concession stand. Having readied his disguise he entered the building through the back. He approached the counter where a few interlopers were stationed and spoke briefly in his thick imperial accent while receiving a few confused looks from the kitchen staff

"A frappe for myself and my mate here!" He said quickly while jerking a thumb towards the Amaran. His hopes were to blend in with the trio. If they played along he might avoid the enraged fraternity, if not…
