News Discord doesn't like me

I splurged and bought myself, my wife and my son new phones the other day. So I put Discord on this new phone

Wouldn't you know it, I never changed my phone number (I had a phone paid for by work, no not my work phone, that was completely separate) on the account and they want it. On top of that, I have no authenticator codes or backups. If that was not bad enough, I dropped my old phone (with the account) in the pool last night (amid brainstorming with @Ryanna mitra). I contacted "support" but could only do so by email so we'll see.

I see a reflection of the frustration of having to deal with account recovery issues after upgrading a phone, and highlight the digital security challenges of moving to a new device.
