Kashyyk; homeworld of the Wookiees and the heart of the Silver Jedi Order. Among the clambering echelons of magnificent trees that towered high into the vibrant blue skies arose the architectural brilliance of Silver Rest - a place of humble solace and tranquility. It was nestled within the world’s lush mountains of green and emanated a natural beauty to rival even the lake country of Naboo. But even with all its elegance, it served as a beating heart of an order that had long since spanned out into the stars. An Order which sought nothing less than to usher in an era of peace and good throughout the stars that found themselves benevolently wrapped in its embrace.

The warming rays of the system’s star, broke through a sky dotted with clouds and trickled down amid the forest canopy to cast an almost magical scene over a large, ornate stone courtyard. A courtyard that carried with it a tale etched with scars of carbon scoring gauged into its surface by the blades of many a Jedi’s lightsaber - a testament to the ceaseless flood of training that had graced these very grounds.

Amid these hallowed grounds, a young Padawan strode out, his sapphire eyes casting a glance to the natural beauty that enveloped the area all around him. A gentle breeze tugged at his off-white tunic and caused his cloak of emerald to momentarily whip behind him. He knew why he was here today, and as much as he didn’t really care for it, he’d come to accept it. For among every Jedi’s repertoire, they needed to hone a confidence while bearing the order’s iconic weapon, the lightsaber. Kobi knew this, but it was this scene he often struggled as he’d much rather bury himself in the enlightenment the archives and the Force offered.

The use of the blade seemed too archaic behind the clairvoyance offered to one when they allowed themselves to be nurtured by the Force. To be its instrument to be honed and spread the light of Ashla out among the stars of the great vast galaxy.

The patter of feet against the sun baked stone were not only that of his own, however, as it was ultimately not his decision to be here. No, there were others among him as well. Others pushing him past his reluctance and ensuring knew importance of perfecting his abilities with the lightsaber were just as paramount as was an understanding and mastery of the Force.

The sun was warm on her dark blonde hair as she walked beside Kobi, a bounce in her step. It felt like a millennium had passed since he had been assigned to his new master and had gone on a mission or two. She had found a best friend in Kobi when she was five and first brought to the order. She couldn’t help but be happy he was back. Ever since he had come up to her and hugged her, telling a worried little Skylar that everything was going to be okay now that he was there, she had looked up to him like he was her big brother.

“C’mon Kobi! It’s not that bad. We’re just going to practice for a little bit.” She flashed a big smile his way, “Maybe you can teach me something your Master has taught you!” She smiled again trying get him to cave into smiling as well..

The day was too beautiful not to be smiling. The sun was perfect, the breeze played with her hair and tugged lightly on her tunic and trousers, keeping her cool. She had left her brown cloak in her room, as she thought it was too warm outside for it today. Maybe she should have worn it, Kobi was wearing his. It was too late for her to run back to her room and grab it unfortunately.

Even though she was excited about their training she was also a little apprehensive. Kobi was older than her and had been training with his master while she had been stuck at the temple with the other Padawans who had not been selected after the Initiate Trials; going to class, doing chores, and whatever else the masters or knights felt needed to be done around Silver Rest. She wanted to train under a Jedi Master too, just like he was.

If there was one thing you could say about Kashyyyk, you really couldn't fault the weather at all. The pink-haired knight closed her eyes for a moment, enjoying the feeling of the golden rays of the midday sun brushing her limbs, a glow behind her closed eyelids as her fingers danced along the warm surface of the stone bench she was laid out on, her free hand cushioning her head. It was days like this that she loved since it gave her a legitimate reason to not be seen in the normal Jedi outfit...not that she was ever found in those robes.

It was the feeling of a familiar presence in the force that finally pulled her to her feet, the hint of a mischievous smile just touching the corner of her lips as she threw herself to her feet, her boots making a soft thump as they hit hte ground, letting her push herself to her feet, a hand darting out at Kobi's head, ruffling the teenager's hair. "That's true, maybe he can, and i he doesn't I hear his master's a real hard-ass who'll make him run through all the saber drills again till he knows them all by heart." Tilting her head to the side the older Jedi winked at Skylar as she let her hand fall away from her Padawan's head. "I kid I kid...it'll only be till dinner time, that's not so bad right?" Asaraa would never admit it aloud but Kobi was doing pretty well with his training, she just didn't wanna risk giving him a big head...otherwise he'd find a way to fit more sweets into his mouth and she didn't think she could deal with him on a bigger sugar high.

It had been a perfect day for Yuroic to go on a run of Kashyyyk, then again he would have done the run if it was pouring with rain. He was determined to keep his fitness up, especially since he swore he put a little weight on since Marcus decided he wanted to learn to bake like Yuroic. Too many sweet foods around the house. It hadn't taken long for Yuroic to be back in his peak fitness but he was still training hard as he could, working his muscles as much as they could. Finishing the run, Yuroic was wandering the halls of the Temple, using the towel to dry himself. As he wandered, he heard the voice of Asaraa speaking.

Curious to see if she was training her Padawan, Yuroic moved towards the voice and looked in. He saw two Padawans and Asaraa sat down. Yuroic was wearing loose jogging bottoms and vest, sweat had his skin glistening as he looked over at the trio. Coughing politely, "Hey, seems I passed my tough love training onto Asaraa." He smirked to his former Padawan, "just make sure to give her lots of grief about how unfair she is compared to other Masters." He gave a teasing wink to his daughter as he took a seat. Looking at the two young Padawans, he offered a warm, friendly smile. "I'm Yuroic, I was Asaraa's Master. Nice to meet you both."

It seemed no matter how hard he would try to keep his straight, serious expression, Kobi couldn’t help but to allow the excitement to wash over him. He was an empath, after all. He fed off the environment that surrounded him and often times found himself a reflection of just that.

Back on Sev Tok, he’d been overwhelmed by the immense grief and pain the natives there had been forced to anguish through, however Kashyyyk offered quite a different emotional complexion and make up. Here, there was no pain. No anger. No fear. Such things didn’t flourish here as they had back there. No. Here there was a certain kind of serenity. A grace that snuffed away the embers of distress and negativity. Not only that, the utopian scene the Force had been so kind as to bless them with this day magical almost supernatural with its rich elegance.

However, there was more than just the heavenly forecast and simple location that fed into the heightened spirits of the young boy this day. The Silver Rest had become home to him. It held a place deep in his heart and the memories of the younger years he had spent here flowed over him. That and the fact that he still had many friends here. Younglings he’d not seen so often since his Master, Asaraa, had taken him as her very own padawan learner. An absolute honor in his mind to have been chosen among the plethora of others he had thought more worthy than himself.

A smile etched its way across Kobi’s face as Skyler made he dig at him.

It certainly warmed his heart to see her as during his time in the temple before graduating into an apprentice, this girl had become very dear to him. A young girl he’d managed to forge a bond with early on and viewed as a little sister of sorts. It definitely was great to see her again, even if it was simply to delve down into some lightsaber form practice. No matter how much he didn’t like the idea of it, he certainly wouldn’t let it dissuade him from trying to best her in their match. After all, who’d be able to live it down if they allowed a little sister to beat them, right?

“If you think so,” he said with a shrug as his Master teasingly threatened hours and hours of saber drills if he lost. “But we haven’t even eaten lunch yet, Master Vaashe.” He let out a short giggle as she ruffled his dark brown, nearly black hair, before he shook his head himself to try and settle the unkept mess.

Then came another voice. It was one he had heard a time or two before, but not a voice he was overly familiar with, as Master Xeraic chimed in to the conversation. “That’s one of my specialties,” Kobi exclaimed in response to the Jedi Master’s request to give Master Vaashe a lot of grief.

As Master Xeraic introduced himself, Kobi offered a short bow before shaking his emerald green cloak lose. He folded it and sat it down near the bench by Master Vaashe before turning his attention back to the group suddenly realizing he hadn’t introduced himself in return to the Jedi Master. “I’m Kobi! Pleasure to meet you Master Yuroic!”

As Kobi smiled Skylar knew her mission had been accomplished, and that made her smile even bigger. As she looked away from him a glint of something being struck by the sunlight caught her eye, “Oh.” She quietly exclaimed as she bent over to grab it. She was only partially listening when Kobi’s master mentioned dinner, and her stomach rumbled slightly. Placing her left hand on her stomach she tried to keep it quiet, she wasn’t too hungry, but a snack would have been nice before their practice, “No master Vaashe, that’s not bad at all.” She replied to the Jedi Master’s question as Skylar looked up at her.

Skylar then looked back down at her hand where she opened her clenched fist to reveal an oval piece of metal that had been polished by the elements. In her eyes it was one of the prettiest objects she had found yet. She would have to add it to her collection in her room later. As she stashed it in her pocket a strong male voice spoke, and she looked up to see the man introducing himself as Yuroic, “I’m Skylar! Pleasure to meet you Master Yuroic!” she said only afterward realizing she had said it in unison with Kobi. She gave Master Yuroic one of her excited grins and continued talking, “Padawan Kobi and I were going to practice our sparing with Master Vaashe’s guidance. Would you like to watch?” She knew she didn’t have to ask since he was a Jedi Master and could do as he pleased in the Temple, but she couldn’t help but pose the question.

Skylar rocked from her heels to toes expectantly awaiting the Master’s reply. He didn’t have to agree to watch, in fact the after thought made her a little nervous having two Jedi Masters watching her and Kobi duel.

Well, it was official then, her padawan was a proper little scamp, although now she thought about it she didn't really have much room in the way of being able to complain about that. After all, a wry smile touched her lips as she glanced over at Yuroic for a moment, she'd been a little bit of a handful herself when she had been a Padawan, still if he wanted to play that game, she'd play right back at him. "Well, at least I haven't shot him through the thigh yet," the young Jedi Knight retorted as she smirked at her father. The smile still pulling at the corner of her lips the girl glanced down at Kobi, blue eyes sparkling with amusement as she transferred the full force of her gaze on the young boy. "Just remember one thing, I'm the one who controls the purse to the amusement parks," she pointed out playfully, "so...how much grief do you really want to give me?"

Asaraa knew that maybe she spoiled Kobi just a little bit, but then she'd rather he had the chance to enjoy his childhood, enjoy the joys the galaxy while he could. But while playing hard was important, working hard was important too. Not missing a beat Asaraa pushed Kobi towards Skylar. "We're not here to sit around talking kiddo, why don't the two of you warm up, show us what you've got?" The girl settled down next to Yuroic, folding her legs under the bench as she settled her hands in her lap. "Remember you don't need to show off, that comes later, solid basics will always serve you better as building blocks," she allowed as she leaned forward ever so slightly, gaze flicking back and forth between the two of them, watching for any weaknesses in their forms she could comment on, help them correct.

Asaraa pulled out her usual trick of feeling sorry for herself because he once shot her in the leg to prepare her for her Jedi Knight trials. "Well, I've moved on to shooting Caedyn's thigh now. Anyways, Kobi is a lot younger than you when I shot you so there is still time." He winked to Asaraa as he cracked his knuckles, watching the two Padawans as got into position to start their duel. He looked over to Asaraa and shook his head, spoiling a Padawan was not exactly the Jedi way, though he knew if he said anything that she would throw at him the way that he treated her during her training as his Padawan.

Looking over the Padawans, he smiled to both of them, "Just breath and let your training takeover, remember that your Lightsaber is meant to be an extension of your arm." Yuroic leaned back and studied the two, "So, how is training your first Padawan going?" Yuroic asked Asaraa, curious to hear her views on teaching. She was his first real Padawan and it was hard for him to leave her behind but she did so well with his guidance and Josh's, it was admirable to see how far she had come. Asaraa was now a Knight teaching her first Padawan.

Kobi’s jaw dropped as his master dangled the possibility of future amusement park excursions in front of him and then threatened to end them. How cruel, but in all honesty, it would make sense for such fun to take a back seat to his legitimate training as a Jedi. With this is mind, he chose not to offer any push back or witty comment in return. Instead, he simply let out a soft groan, arms crossed, and shot a short disapproving gaze toward Asaraa. It was a nefarious sort of glare, and she’d likely be able to deduct that, if anything, it was not carried out with any serious. It was playful and he hoped to keep the affair light-hearted and in good nature as it had been so far.

It’d only be a moment longer before his focus and attention would, at long last, shift again. Now, his arms having already uncrossed themselves, his gaze fell upon the other young padawan that stood before him. His long time friend whom he seemed to have created a sibling-like bond with over the years.

He bowed his head slightly and narrowed his eyes toward her, a gap of roughly ten feet between the two adolescents. His hand brushed over his hip until it comfortably gripped the ornate hilt of his lightsaber and he pulled it from its hook-loop style fastener. He raised it in front of himself, holding it in both hands now and loosed a mischievous grin toward Skyler. The emerald green blade climbed skyward accompanied by the iconic hum of the focussed blade. His feet fell to shoulder width, left leading the right and his shoulders squared toward his sparring partner. He held the hilt just in front of his chest in a vertical nature. His knees bent slightly. “Don’t make this too easy for me, Sky!”

The two older Jedi and Kobi kept talking and joking amongst themselves. The thought of getting shot didn't sound like fun training, Skylar hoped that none of the other Jedi Masters trained the other younglings or padawans that way. She didn't want to interrupt their talking with a question of why or how the blaster training occurred and she definitely didn't want it to happen to her. She took a step back out of the small circle they had formed as the others talked. Finally Knight Vaashe suggested warm-ups. Skylar quickly turned around ans walked until she and Kobi stood about ten feet away.

The mood changed sightly as the padawan that she looked up to as her big brother challenged her by drawing his lightsaber and getting into a ready stance. She had been training really hard ever since she hadn't been selected to be someone's apprentice. She wanted to prove that she was good enough to be like Kobi and be trained like him.

Skylar quickly reached down to her left hip where her lightsaber always hung, and speedily detached it from her belt. She moved her right foot back a bit and leaned slightly forward, bending at the knees, as she ignited her lightsaber and held it horizontally at chest height with both hands. A slight breeze blew a strand of her dark golden hair across her face as she replied to Kobi's remark, "Don't worry, I'm going to beat you this time Kobi!" smiling she waited for any indication to attack.
