District Oddities (Hasjo Hallu, Dash Aandek)

Coruscant clubs were always the best. Hot women, delicious drinks, lights, awesome music. It was the place to be when you were relaxing, soldier or not. Not much else to explain about them. The back was where the intimate action happened. The men enjoyed their drinks and got a show from the ladies. The ones not modest, at least. There was some things Nattov just couldn't enjoy. Especially the lights and the women.

"Can I get you anything, sir?" the bartender asked. Unlike a lot people Nattov met, he didn't seem appalled to be looking at a Geonosian. Nattov guessed that this guy had seen his fair share of weird creatures.
"Just some water, added sugar." Nattov replied in practiced Common. He looked at a clock. His friends should have been here already. Probably doing stuff. The drink came back and Nattov typed in a code, and payed for it. He relaxed. It wasn't often he got to.

And that's when he saw the buff man walk in.

Come on, Hasjo. I need help, thought Nattov worriedly.

Damned private room cost me a month's credits...

Dash stared blankly into the glass of ale in front of him, halfway thinking he should drink it, halfway thinking he should put it on display, considering the Astronomical cost of liquor on this damned rock. In his other hand, a death stick burned slowly. He knew he should quit; they don't call them "Death Sticks" for show. The noise of the crowded bar outside the room made him feel tense, but with a solid wall between him and the crowds, he was comfortable enough. He glanced down at his communicator watch, the time displayed brightly in the left corner.

Damned Geonosian won't check his calls...

He was supposed to meet Nattov here an hour ago, but he couldn't get in touch with him. He took a sip from his ale, and cued up a Holo-vid. He figured he might be there a while.

Hasjo found himself stalking down the dark streets of Coruscant. His thick, brown woollen Jedi robes gathered around him. His hood drawn up to hide the large, green tendrils that trailed down from his scalp. He entered the night club. He had agreed to meet a friend here. Though the Jedi Padawan was not one to be a fan of such places. He entered unharassed, and from the glances he received. Many knew for what he was; one of the Jedi Order. He was of relatively average height, standing at 5ft 9", but Hasjo was of a large and strong build. He was weak in the Force but made up for it as a very aggressive combatant in lightsaber forms. When he saw the glittering wings of the Genosian, he smiled. Marching over to him, he called "Nattov! Good to see you friend"

Nattov watched as the buff man sat down. There was obviously going to be a problem.
But Nattov's tensions eased when he heard his friends voice. "Nattov! Good to see you friend" the Nautolan exclaimed. Nattov turned around and saw Hasjo. He was in the Jedi tunic and robes that he was always in, his green tendrils hanging from his head. Nattov replied, "Ah, wonderful. Good to see you too. Thanks for showing up. I needed to talk to you about a few things."

He looked to the bartender. "Do you have a private room?"

The human shook his head. "Not open, but there is one that is being wasted. You can go in that one, just make sure he lets you in. Not the friendly type, from what I have seen. Last room on the left."

Nattov turned to Hasjo. "It'll have to do. Let's go." the Geonosian spread his wings, and fluttered them a bit. The buzzing sound began, and Nattov breathed heavily as he was lifted off the ground. He buzzed down the hall at a speed a lot slower than he would normally fly, and Hasjo followed closely. They reached the end of the hall, and there was an old door with the words 'ROOM 7' on them. "You do the honours." Nattov said to his friend.

"You do the honours." Nattov said to his friend.
"My pleasure" Hasjo answered. He placed his webbed, green hand on the door and it slid open. He looked into the room, spying the sole being that sat within. "I hope you don't mind the intrusion. I am Hasjo Hallu, and this is Nattov. We're looking for a quiet room to talk, and we were told we could gather within" Hasjo was formal and polite. A true Jedi in the making. He stepped into the room and took a seat across from the man known as Dash.

Dash jumped as the duo entered the private room. He was about to argue until he saw the Geonosian hovering behind Hasjo. Outside of Geonosis, he had a 98% chance of being his friend, Nattov.

"Nattov? It's about damn time!" Dash said, snuffing out his death stick. He eyed the stranger closely. you'd have to be blind to not see the clear evidence of a Jedi; the robes, the lightsaber, not to mention the air of superiority they seemed to radiate.

"Uh, Howdy. Dash Aandek." He said, trying to seem cordial as he extended his hand for a handshake. "Never met a Jedi in person before."

"Uh, Howdy. Dash Aandek." Dash said, trying to seem cordial as he extended his hand for a handshake. "Never met a Jedi in person before."
Hasjo gripped his hand firmly with his own webbed hand, shaking it once. Hasjo said "The pleasure is mine." He glanced around the room, and looked to the death stick momentarily. Knowing full well that the substance was an illegal drug. With his eyes still on the stick, he commented "You should perhaps rethink how you spend your free time. They're called death sticks for a reason." He placed his hands in his sleeves, easing the tension. "So, how long have you known Nattov?" he raised the muscle where an eyebrow was usually located on a human.

Dash rolled his eyes as the Jedi commented on his habit. Luckily, they didn't linger on the subject.

"So, how long have you known Nattov?"

"Couple years. Don't see him in person too often. He kinda hard to get in touch with." Dash said, shooting a scowl towards Nattov. "You need to check your communicator more often."

"I'm busy! But we need to get down to business. And now that you are already here, you can help us as well, should you wish to." Nattov eyed Dash. He touched down to the stone cold floor and his wings stopped buzzing. He sat down and sighed. "Anyway, Hasjo, you saw the big man when you came in? Well, if so, I fear that is part of the problem. Allow me to explain." He paused.

"I'm a Private Investigator, as you might know. I spend most of my time here, flying above the low ones, literally. But I have seen these strange muscular men going into every crowded place. Strangely enough, they are all Twi'leks, and about 1.8 metres tall. I fear that they are apart of some gang. You might be thinking this is common, but how many of those gangs are Monoracial? Next to none. And they all wear the same clothes. Some of my contacts tell me that they are terrorists planning an attack, but they don't have stone proof. I figured we would need your skills, Dash, should we need to go to Ryloth, and your Hasjo, if we encounter trouble." Nattov finished.

Hasjo leaned forward, listening intently as the Genosian told his piece. He nodded along as he unravelled the mystery. When Nattov had finished, Hasjo asked "What type of attack and where? Or you currently do not know? And if we encounter trouble. What can I expect?." Hasjo sat back into his chair, musing over the words. He could hold his own against a single opponent, or a crowd, for a short time. He relied on fast, overwhelming attacks but it opened his defences and his endurance waned quickly. His lightsaber form was not designed for prolonged fights.

"What type of attack and where? Or you currently do not know? And if we encounter trouble. What can I expect?"

Nattov stretched his neck a bit. "I don't know the entirety of this groups' access to hazardous things, but from what I have heard they have special 'Resource Providers' that can give them anything they need, even Biohazards. As for the attack, given the way the act and how there is hardly any communication between them, I would think it would be either some kind of Biological or Radiological Agent. I would assume it would be in the Senate or Jedi Temple. But I'm not completely sure. And what you can expect for trouble... I'm not entirely sure. I feel like these are the type of people that would come together in their time of need, so I'm not entirely sure. But we can't worry about that now."

Nattov looked at Dash and asked, "You seem to know urban areas pretty well, from what I recall when I last saw you.. If I was a Monoracial Gang with Strange Intentions where would I hide?"

(Also, keep in mind, there is no GM. Both of you, please, please feel free to take the story in a different direction. I encourage it. I can't do this all alone :D)

"In a place like this? Every Species has a district. look for any place where Twi'leks live en masse. I'm not convinced though. How do you know you're not just being Paranoid? I mean... There's gotta be billions of Twi'leks on Coruscant. Who's to say a few wouldn't look alike and dress alike?" Dash said, shifting his drink around in his hands.

"That's the thing though. They don't have that... 'fad' vibe. But also, there are at least a hundred of them. All exactly the same colour, exactly the same height, exactly the same clothing. I have seen it from the air. They don't clump together, so it is hard to notice from the ground. But all throughout the slums, they stand watch, as if waiting for something. Do you see what I am getting at? This can't be just 'look alike and dress alike' issue though." Nattov tapped on his exoskeleton. "Suspicion is hardly a search warrant, I grant you, but we should at least check it out. If it is nothing, I'll go to a counselor. But if the lives of Coruscant citizens are at risk because of these people, we have to do something about it."

The Geonosian looked at his communicator. The message alarmed him.

Ears everywhere. Watch your back.
- Jurgin Steele

Nattov turned to Hasjo, ignoring the message. "What do you think?"

Nattov turned to Hasjo "What do you think?"
"Hold"
Hasjo said quietly. He shot up out of his seat. He could feel something. A sense of foreboding as it were. As though something was about to happen. A trait among the Jedi. He quietly stepped on the toes of his feet towards the door. He placed his head against the door, listening. The very moment he stood back, the door exploded inward towards him. The twi'lek that Nattov had warned him about before stood in the doorframe. He held a blaster in his hand, directed to the Geonosian. Before he could fire off a shot, the sound of snapping plasma could be heard. Hasjo's green lightsaber ignited. With a ferocious swing, the man's hand was cleaved from his wrist. He howled in pain, using his left hand to grapple with his right wrist that burned from the plasma.

Dash jumped at the sudden intrusion, and winced as he saw the severed hand drop to the floor, the blaster clattering against the steel panels.

"Nattov, forget what I said. Paranoia; totally justified." Dash said, drawing the old beat up Slug-thrower from his belt. "You uh... Sensing anything else there, friend?"

Dash moved cautiously to the door, leaning against the frame and peeking out. The bar was empty. Normally, Dash loved empty bars, but on Coruscant? That was NOT a good sign.

"The place looks empty..."

"You uh... Sensing anything else there, friend?"
Hasjo looked to him, shocked. Not at Dash but with himself. "I-uh, I'm not usually strong in the force, at all. He must be heavily force-sensitive" he explained. The ignited plasma vanished as he returned the lightsaber to his belt. He snapped out of his shock and took a hold of the situation, speaking to Dash "Secure the bar until police arrive." He walked over to the kneeling man, squatting beside him. Hasjo placed his index finger to his ear, speaking through a communication link that he kept ready with his astromech "R9, get the coordinates for my location. Alert the authorities there has been an attempted assault with a deadly weapon. We'll need a medic, aye-sap." He stood up, returning to his Geonosian friend "Nattov, you're the expert here. What course of action should we take? If they hear one of their own has been arrested, they may scramble."

@[member="Nattov"] @[member="Dash Aandek"]

Nattov reacted with his insectoid instincts. He started his wings up quickly, and floated into a corner. All he could see was the blaster pointed at him. Then there was a FZZZT! and a scream, and the threat had been neutralized. There was a smoking hand on the ground, and a blaster on the floor. A Twi'lek lay on the floor, clutching his right wrist. Hasjo had acted swiftly.

The Geonosian didn't stop flying. He didn't want to touch the ground. Hasjo stood up, returning to his Geonosian friend. "Nattov, you're the expert here. What course of action should we take? If they hear one of their own has been arrested, they may scramble."

"Hang on, something isn't right." Nattov inquired. He buzzed down close to the ground, and examined the Twi'lek. The assailant had passed out from the shock. Nattov pulled an ID out of the Twi'lek's pocket. It had the name JURGIN STEELE on the front. This wasn't possible. "Something is very wrong. We need to get to somewhere safe." Nattov said. He quickly flew down the corridor, and stopped himself at the entrance to the bar. Then he saw a faint light on top of one of the skyscrapers. It was blue and yellow, meant to signal something. In these circumstances, it was probably not good. "Both of you, come quick. I need binoculars."

Dash scooted after Nattov, his trusty slug-thrower sitting firmly in his hands.

"Both of you, come quick. I need binoculars."

Dash peered out the window, the same glow catching his attention. He squinted, taking a second to recognize a familiar sight.

"Looks like a landing pad. So? They signal like that when someone is coming in."

Hasjo caught up, he didn't have binoculars and busied himself clearing the main bar room. His lightsaber still activated as he pushed aside chairs and tables, searching for anyone that could be hiding. Satisfied no one was there, he released the ignition of the plasma, returning the hilt to his belt. He marched over to Nattov and Dash, spying the same glow. "What do you think, Nattov?" he asked, ignoring Dash's comment. Dash had been unconvinced about the Twi'leks, and personally so too had Hasjo. But after witnessing that break-in, he was more inclined to listen to Nattov and take him seriously.

"I think Dash might be right. But airspace is restricted now, I think. So why would they be signaling anything?" Nattov asked them. "Hang on."

He flew up higher to get a better look. Now that he was level with the pad, he could see the light clearer. It looked like a suit of pure blue and yellow... and hanging head-tails.Strange. Nattov descended and touched down outside the bar.

"It was some kind of humanoid thing covered in lights. Not sure to be honest. But it looked like a Twi'lek. We have to get closer somehow."
