She originally started in the custody of a slimy Hutt, and she continued to serve her master until custody over her was transferred to one of her masters business rival. She was favored amongst the rest of the slave girls for her dancing skills, and singing skills, so her hutt overlord took her to various public events, such as podraces and the like. At one of these gatherings, Plavaguna met one of the owners of Coruscant's Galaxies Opera House. He took a great deal of interest in the Twi'lek, seeing that she had untapped singing talent. In the following year, he purchased her from her master, and took her back to Coruscant, where he hoped she would perform as an opera singer in his theater.
Her 'Saviour' however had a real bad gambling problem, and had put up Plavalaguna for a wager in a heated sabaac game, what he had yet to realize was that he was a terrible gambler and so she was sold back into captivity. She however wouldnt be kept under such terrible condiitons this time, she would only serve as an escort. Deciding to take matters into her own hands she decided to rob him, before escaping his custody. Keeping a low profile, she met an Ortolan couple who worked as musicians. She became a dancer in their performances, and made a living dancing at varying nightclubs in Coruscant's less reputable districts.
However, there are people who just accept what the galaxy throws at them, and there are those that are wiling to take fate by the reins, Plavaguna is one of the latter. She became quite the gambler herself, and has won and lost more credits than most people will ever see in her lifetime. She had become rather fond of the Coruscanti night life, there was always a game of chance to be had, a starship leaving every hour, and exciting new vistas and patron to see and meet. So she remained within the nightclub life, as a dancer and partime gambler trying to make a living. Eventually she was rediscovered for her dancing abilities and became a member of a traveling band, from then on she has been showcasing her talents, eventually revealing her singing abilities, and moving to the position of lead singer.
She garnered a bit of a reputation, and ventured out on her own as a solo act. Her rise to popularity started when she participated in the Anapolla Muscial Splash as an opening act for many famous recording artist. She happened to be in the right place at the right time, and now leads a career as a popular all-round traveling artist.
