After the success of the GALAAR-15c Particle Blaster Carbine and RAWL-10a Phase-Pulse Longblaster, the Forgesmiths of Mythosaur Forgeworks received a request for a combination weapon of the two, a long blaster that retained the ability to be a close combat weapon when needed. Taking design cues from the old but popular DLT-20A Longblaster, and combining it with the developed technology mostly from the GALAAR-15c, the Forgesmiths came up with a decidedly light yet accurate blaster rifle, capable of making shots at twice the range of the GALAAR, but being half the weight of the RAWL to equip troops on the front lines with a Designated Marksman Rifle called the ARS-12 Marksman Rifle.
A major strength of the ARS-12 Marksman Rifle was the shared type of ammunition from the GALAAR, though they still require different magazines. This also meant it retained both the anti-shield capabilities and the anti-lightsaber capabilities of the GALAAR, though this also meant that the blaster retained the ability to overheat when used with Overcharged and Pulse-Fire if Pulse-Fire is maintained for an extended time. Troops equipped with this weapon were expected to exercise trigger discipline when equipped with this weapon.
With the ARS-12 Marksman Rifle in their possession, the Mandalorians of The Death Watch crusade and their allies would be equipped with another weapon in their arsenal to fight the enemies of Mandalore, and to wreak the vengeance on the galaxy.
