DNA Testing

Daella entered the temporary meeting place of the Senate along with one of the leading Coruscant Security Force officers. The officer asked for a Jedi to accompany him. He also requested the presence of @[member="Cody Jorin"]. Several other Coruscant Security Force troops joined him, yet they remained in the lobby. Only himself and two others boarded a Senate pod and entered the assembly.

The Senate had finished its business for the day. There was nothing else on the agenda except for announcements. The leading officer, Major Pat Sotanax a blue Duro, was permitted to take center stage. He wore the typical CSF officer attire.

Speaking quickly and with concern, Pat announced, "Honorable Senators, I am CSF Major Sotonax. Representing the security force that guards your life, I must apologize for the events that transpired resulting in the loss of lives of our Senators. It served to remind us that we have been lacking in alertness, and we resolve to fix that and prevent future attacks."

After a pause, Sotonax continued, "The chance for a future attack remains, though I will tirelessly work to prevent it. Yet if such an attack happens again, it is likely that any Senators that tragically perish will be rendered unrecognizable via visual confirmation. Several of your peers died in such a manner in this last attack, and identifying the remains has been difficult. The reason for this is that we have an incomplete DNA database of the incumbent Senate."

Then, Sotonax pressed several buttons on the console before him. Contact information for the Forensics division of the CSF would have been sent to every Senator, both absent and not.

Finishing his announcement, Sotonax said, "I ask for each one of you to please volunteer either a blood sample or name and contact information of a direct biological family members. Such a family member must be a parent, sibling, or child. With that, we can adequately identify future victims, should the time ever come, and quickly inform your families so that the grieving process can begin. I do hope though that I never have to identify any of your bodies in the future, though, and I wish you all the best of health. Thank you for listening."

With his announcement finished, Sotonax's pod departed from the assembly. Sotonax and Daella exited the building. Further announcements continued until the Senate adjourned for the day.

OOC: Please reply with your Senator's personal choice in whether to give blood, contact information of immediate family members, or decline the CSF's request entirely. There is no legal consequence for any choice by itself.

Harkness looked at the order and gave a nod before smiling. "So this DNA sample, want blood or something else?" He gave a wink and stood there presenting his arm.

"I would rather place my trust in Onderonian security to keep me from dying, thank you." Jentara sighed, saddened by the loss of so many senators. "I'll take preventative measures to prevent terrorist attacks over someone needing to identify my body any day."

After all, Onderon's planetary forces were more than adequate.

Tracing his fingers quickly across his personal datapad, he looked up at Sotonax and smiled.

"Information sent to you, Major. As well as a personal blood sample. Anything for hard working security officers."

Considering the rate people seemed to be dying around here, Chi made a mental note to stop by and give a sample right after the senate let out. There weren't that many blue skinned senators or even Pantorans about, but it would be good for her people and those she represented to have positive confirmation as quickly as possible should the worst happen.

Yusan didnt even respond to the announcement and when he came out he ignored the security personnel all together, there would be no reason for him to give his blood, not today, not ever. He got in the speeder he owned and went home, he had work to do anyways and this was an unneeded waste of time.

Silas looked up from his datapad he would give blood and contact details he had nothing to hide anyway. He sent over the information of his last living relative and stepped up to give blood.

Aliannah listened to the session very carefully. It seemed like this time, the session won't be about something where she should represent her homesystem. So she thought it doesn't need that much effort. After all, her thoughts weren't very important to Lunar Meadow. The Senate had changed very much, though, and she felt really sorry about the people who had died. But she didn't think DNA samples should be given. So she just said: "I am not going to give you any samples. In case something happens to me, I don't have to be identified like this."

Jack nodded behind Aliannah's statement. "Neither do I. I'd rather not have a sample of meself floating around where someone can come across it, thank you very much. If I die in such a way that no distinguishing features are left behind, let the name of Senator Captain Jack Sparrow drift into the annals of legend. 'He was there, then poof, he was gone,' they'll say, 'and so was the rest of the building that housed him.'"
