Arriving Ta'A Chume'Dan
Another destination, another stop, another hundred passengers. That's what Heidi had been dealing with for the past 4 days, still receiving no word back on why she had been chosen for this 'special voyage' for medical research. The ship itself carried no weapons, but aboard were approximately 250 stormtroopers, protecting the freighter and its special cargo.

She lay dormant in her section above the cargo hold. She looked across the city skylines, seeing a beautiful sight, the golden sun setting in the distance, then bustling vehicles and speeders, both respectively zooming across her view-line; but darkness encroached as they docked in the hanger.

"All security personnel, inspect on-coming civilians and ensure no explosive devices have been equipped. Non-lethal weapons are permitted only, any lethal weapons will be confiscated until the individuals have finished their voyage."

She supposed the actual perk of flying government was the security it brought, she wasn't much of a fighter herself. The actual reason she had been sent on this journey was apart of her contract, in reality it was a simple moving of medical supplies and she was chosen to handle the packages with care, alongside a few other specialists in her field. One of them, was Hazel Zanteres. She hadn't done extensive research, but she was to be her partner on this, although she personally didn't see why she needed a partner, she would welcome her with open arms anyway.

She made her way down to the boarding deck, several individuals bearing lab-coats passed her, some looking rather shady, others looking completely normal, but the clicking of various heels and boots could be heard, echoing throughout the entire ship, clearly undermanned at the moment. But she didn't care, she was here to greet her associate; and boy did she stand out from the rest. She had that glow only a Hapan could have, the sparkle in her eyes, the golden hair, something she would, metaphorically, kill for.

She approached Hazel with optimism.

"I believe you're Hazel, if I'm correct? We'll be working together for the remainder of this journey." as she finished the sentence, she offered a handshake and a smile.

Hazel Zanteres

The Angel/Devil on your Shoulder
Hazel's return to Hapes; her home planet had been surprisingly pleasant given that it had been the first time she had ever set foot there. She hadn't been born or raised around her people, and instead only had her mother's stories to go on. They had mainly been about the planet's beauty, never going into how backstabby its inhabitants could be, especially those within the political sphere. Though as Hazel grew up and she researched it into herself, it became clear just what her mother had kept quiet about; and why. The Zanteres name once had a great deal of influence in the Consortium, perhaps it still did but she wasn't going to even look into it. Hell, she hadn't even introduced herself with her full name; just simply as Hazel.

She had been on Hapes as a vacation of sorts, taking a break from her duties with the Order of the Sacred Lotus. And despite what her family history was, she couldn't help but feel that sensation of being back at home. It was however rather strange to be; for once, not the sore thumb amongst a crowd of people. She could just simply blend in with the other Hapans around her. As such the past couple days had been without any annoyances or issues, just peace and enjoyment.

However on her last day on Hapes, she had recieved a rather out of the blue message from the First Order. Apparently they had a ship that was on a voyage for Medical Research, and that it would be stopping at Hapes; specifically one of its capitals to refuel, resupply and take on passengers. It came with a temporary job offer of all things, asking Hazel to help with the other specialists onboard. She was to be assigned a partner; one Heidi Ziegler. She had read the brief report on the young woman, and had no qualms with it orr just in general about working with a partner. If anything she was quite happy to see someone of the younger generation with interest in the medical arts.

So by the time the ship finally arrived and docked, Hazel was there to immediately board. She got through the security check without any issue and stood around waiting for her partner to show up.

Hazel was dressed in what she typically referred to as her 'Battle Medic Fatigues'. It was a one piece suit that was generally mistaken for a two piece one due to the belt that hung around her waist. It offered minor protection against the lesser environmental hazards. There were some obvious scuffs and marks indicating it had seen a lot of use, which it had across numerous battlefields over the years. Slung over her left shoulder was a strap that led down to a decently sized satchel at her side; of which pretty much contained her personal medical supplies.

After a short while she caught sight of someone approaching, and gave a warm smile when the young woman introduced herself.

"That's correct, I assume then that you're Heidi? A pleasure to meet you." She took the woman's hand and shook it.

"Indeed."

A few more individuals pass, this time, in what seemed to be security outfits.

"It'll be a pleasure working with you. Shall we get started?"

Assuming Hazel as no objections, they would begin to make their way to the medical bay, with Heidi leading the way. Passing the first door, Heidi showed her pass which if she could see would read to the Stormtrooper. He gave a firm nod then pressed a few buttons on the keypad, enabling the circular doors to open.

"Heidi Ziegler
Certified Paediatrician"

She turned to Hazel as they passed by the crystal white hallways, departments of various kinds, an armoury, with many droids littering their surrondings, none really paying attention to them. The place was deserted apart from those mentioned, presumably most were being assigned cabins.

"You'll have to excuse my identification, it's a bit informal and really doesn't show my specialty. I study mainly in Child development and health, although I've recently been assigned with studying battlefield injuries and treatments; it was really the only thing they recognized as Official, most of them hadn't even heard of my home planet"

As they approached the medical bay, which was at the very end of the corridor, she swiped a pass that was attached to a lanyard on her neck; though they could see into it before entering due to the clear glass which was surrounding the entire facility. The equipment provided was pretty basic, stainless steel instruments, an operating table with several computers. To her left, she saw the pass she had left down earlier; handing it to Hazel.

"This will give you access to anywhere really on the ship, bar the armoury."

She sat down at one of the desks and logged on to a terminal.

"Well I suppose I should tell you a bit about myself." With a smile. "I'm from Biitu, a planet you've probably never heard of, especially being from here." She laughed. "I guess if I had to sum it all up, it's what most would consider 'The Outback' on their planet. Don't get me wrong, we're not stupid, but many people think we do. Also, you look very beautiful. I read into you prior, I hope you don't find that creepy. Hapens are known for being very attractive, and you are no different."

"Anyway. Tell me about you, what do you do?"

Hazel Zanteres

The Angel/Devil on your Shoulder
Hazel just gave the woman an affirmative nod, allowing Heidi to take the lead as they made their way through the ship. During the initial walk, it occured to Hazel that she hadn't often worked on many ships, at least not for a lengthy period of time. It had always been from one battlefield to another, her time onboard only for the duration of the journey. The ratio between the two had always weighed heavily to that particular side of things. Though her recent joining up with the Sacred Lotus had seen her in a medical bay a lot more as of late; even if it hadn't been a pleasant experience with recent events.

She shook those thoughts away as they stopped at the first door. Hazel gave a curious look as Heidi held up her pass, although she didn't get a good look at what was written on it. She hadn't even realised until now that they were mostly alone aside from the guards and the droids that were moving about. The place seems oddly sparse given the amount of passengers they had taken on when she had boarded.

"It's fine, though I must say it's quite strange that they would assign a paediatrician to something like this."

Although, as Hazel thought on it, there was always another battle; another war around the corner and medics were always going to be needed.

As they got within vision of the medical bay, Hazel's interest peaked and she began looking around at what she'd be working with. She immediately took note of the basic equipment, and the lack of anything particularly high tech resonated in her mind that her employer wasn't expecting there to be a need for it. After about a minute or so, Hazel turned around to Heidi who was holding out the pass.

"Ah, thank you very much."

She took it and placed the lanyard around her neck. Hazel took a moment to grasp the pass in her hand and examine it. It was pretty much as basic and general as could be. There was no real personal information, just indicating her as a member of the staff and part of the medical specialists.

With that, Hazel took a seat near Heidi and watched as the young woman began typing away at the terminal. She said nothing until the comment about her looks, in which a light blush appeared on Hazel's cheeks and she ducked her head down - hiding her face from view. While it would presumably give the impression of shyness, the reality was she was hiding a pained expression that Hazel knew had inevitably followed. Hazel cursed silently, it had been years since and the memories still got to her even now.

Half a minute passed before Hazel looked up again, her previous expression was gone and in its place a small smile; albeit a slightly fake one. Hazel chuckled slightly, as she tried to relax a bit in the chair she was seated in.

"It's fine, thank you for the compliment. And it might surprise you to know but I'm not actually from Hapes. Or rather, I wasn't born here at least. My parents had left and raised me on Corellia instead." Hazel winced at the memory of the planet, remembering that what she once had there was now gone because of the Netherworld Incident. "What do I do? Hmm, well I guess as of late I've mostly been working as a doctor - generally working on an indepedant basis although I've since joined a group that shares similiar ideals to mine. Aside from that I'm also a battle medic, have been for many years in fact."

"Oh do tell about that, I love hearing about organizations that help others. If only there was one when my planet was attacked, possibly more could have been saved. Anyway."

She continued typing and was greeted with a "Welcome back" screen. The computer wasn't actually turned off, possibly locked out from being inactive for some time. Then, a voice spoke from the intercom located in the back of the room.

"This is your captain speaking. Please enter a secure room until further notice"

Strange, she thought. The ship must've took off and been in hyperspace by now, but she ignored it. Probably another kitchen disaster at the hands of the terrible chef on board.

"I believe we're transporting a huge quantity of numbing spray for market use. I don't really see the point in it though, nothing a few herbs can't fi-.."

The doors opened an an Imperial Officer entered the bay with a concerned look on his face, cautiously looking out the glass planes facing the hallway behind him.

"Hei-.. Doctor Ziegler" behind him was a storm trooper carrying a passed out Rodian. "This man was shot by a lethal weapon, we are unsure of how this happened but the ship is in lockdown until further notice."

"Certainly, Clark-.. Mr Zanero. Do you know what he was hit with?" she said while steadily pacing towards the stormtrooper and signalling him to place the patient on the operating table.

He closed the doors behind himself. "Again, we're unsure of what happened, I'm posting 211 to this floor for security purposes; we believe there may have been rogue slavers who boarded the ship unauthorized."

Heidi turned to Hazel with a confused look on her face, while the trooper nodded to them both. "Don't worry Ma'am, a stronger trooper like me will keep you both safe" the officer meanwhile giving a disappointed head shake to him. "211, I don't want you flirting with staff members."

"Hazel, do you know how to treat these injuries? I'm out of my comfort zone if I must be honest." she said while taking a bandage roll from a cabinet along with a pair of medical scissors. The officer opened the door once more and rushed back up the stairs after receiving a call on his communicator, if they were listening, a scream came from it. Disappearing without a word certainly was odd.

The trooper meanwhile sat down at the terminal Heidi was formerly at and began to browse the holonet.

Hazel Zanteres

The Angel/Devil on your Shoulder
"I'm sorry to hear that about your planet. It is indeed a shame there's not enough groups, or people in general that are willing to help out those who cannot. Though hopefully the organization I've joined; the Order of the Sacred Lotus will the shining beacon that will be there in times of conflict. They're good people, hold a similiar neutral outlook as I do; to be there for those that get caught in the middle and provide aid to all sides."

Hazel went to speak on, but the sudden voice over the intercom cut her off, and it immediately caught her attention. It was certainly not a good thing that the captain was requesting everyone to remain in a secure place, but Hazel truly frowned at the slight inflection she could hear. The captain had kept a calm, neutral tone as expected of his position, but there was something that was tickling at the back of Hazel's mind that something wasn't quite right. She looked over at Heidi only to see her seemingly dismiss it was nothing too serious, but Hazel still wasn't entirely sure.

Again, she opened her mouth to respond to Heidi, but was interrupted when the Imperial Officer arrived followed immediately by the Stormtrooper. The moment she saw the injured Rodian, she was up on her feet beside Heidi. Hazel listened intently at what was being said, even if she made no response to any of it. Her attention was solely on the wounded as the Stormtrooper laid him down on the operation table.

"Of course, this should be fairly routine." Albeit if it were back a few years ago, 'fairly routine' would've been accompained by being in the midst of an active battlefield.

At the mention of salvers, Hazel did pause momentarily, a bad memory began to stir but she pushed it aside and returned her focus to the injured man.

As Heidi went about picking up some items, Hazel was examining the Rodian. First she looked at his clothing, taking note that the only damage to it was a single hole where the blaster had obviously hit. Then rolled the shirt up and began looking at the injury itself. "He was shot on the right side of the abdomen, from first glance; and with the lack of any major bleeding, I'd say it didn't hit anything critical." She took a moment to gently lift the man up to examine his back and saw a similiar hole on the back of his shirt. "There are no signs of the blast impacting; no burns on the clothing, so I'd say the shot went right through. The attacker was likely close and fired with the weapon pressed up against him."

Hazel gave Heidi a quick thank you when she finally came back over with the bandage roll and scissors. She took them and within seconds was carefully wrapping up the man's wound, moving like this was second nature to the doctor. During this time she was obvious to the Officer's actions and heard nothing.

"Two-One-One, when you found this man was there any blaster fire heard prior?" If there hadn't; or if it had been muffled, then that meant her suspisions of it being point blank were correct, which in turn meant whoever had boarded the ship was intending to do things quietly rather than loudly. Though honestly, neither were particularly good either way.
