Does Anybody Have a Laser Pointer?

The dense forests of Cholganna were chilly. The reptile was far out in the Outer Rim, on his first of many trophy hunts now that he was experiencing more of the Galaxy. Sussh shivered, his cold blooded nature was slowing him down, and he had to be careful he didn’t become the prey. In fact as the sun set, the Trandoshan had to resort to using his racial gift of thermal vision just to make sure there was no Nexu or other predator lying in wait.

Nexu were dangerous creatures, with claws so sharp they could likely cut him in half with a single blow. They had thermal vision as well, but there was one advantage with the cold. Since the Trandoshan is cold blooded he would barely become visible, while a human would be brighter than a lightsaber to them.

This would likely be a long hunt worthy of the Scorekeeper’s blessing. He might even be able to capture one alive, but the consequence of not being able to mount the deadly feline might end up having him taken a different course of action. Regardless he would get his prize.

Encumbered from the cold, Sussh began to climb a tree where we would wait until morning. It was impossible to tell the Nexu’s routinely patterns but he knew they weren’t nocturnal. For now he would rest in the trees and would hunt in the morning.

Seated aboard a ship she'd schlepped from the Agents of Chaos' inventory, Scherezade had her feet propped up on the controls, a bag of Whimsy Popcorn in her hands, and she chewed on the kernels as she watched the information unfolding in front of her eyes.

Aeliar Jellrek was a woman who had joined the Agents of Chaos back during their very early days. The Twi'lek ha quickly climbed the ranks, helping to forge an intelligence division. Scherezade had never heard of her before that, but when she was introduced to the woman later, to compare the knowledge considering her previous position with the Ministry of Secrets, nothing had seemed off.

In fact, everything had been off. Jellrek had been working as a double agent the entire time, gathering information for the Force knew who. It was only by luck that some of the slicers who were employed by the Coins uncovered the plot by accident, and Jellrek was immediately tagged. They wanted information out of her. And then, they wanted to kill her.

Scherezade had gladly signed up for that mission. When Jellrek left the Scintilla, she had headed to this planet – Cholganna. Scherezade had never heard about it before, but that didn't matter. As her ship lazily broke through armo', she knew it would only be a matter of time before she found her… And bled her dry.

Sussh awoke briefly before dawn. A light hum of a starship could be heard in the distance and it caused the wildlife to stir. Bark rats scurried along the ground trying to flee from the direction, running under the tree the Trandoshan had embedded himself in.

Curious, the hunter surveyed his surroundings for more threatening fauna. After seeing no immediate danger, he jumped down, landing and catching a Bark Rat between his claws before biting off its head and having an easy breakfast contemplating what to do next.

The starship posed problems for him. One, it would alert or scare off his prey. Two, it could mean competition. Cholganna was a planet without a government so it definitely wouldn’t be an average civilian. It was either someone trying to lay low, a hunter, or somebody who was beyond lost. He decided he would hunt down the intruder and dispose of them, it would be a mild detour from his hunt, but he supposed he could have fun with it.

An hour passed as he followed the original direction of the planet breaking atmosphere, but once he saw the Agents of Chaos’ ship landed he paused, mildly aggravated and confused. What could of business would they have here? Were they following him? If so why? He kept his distance and decided to observe before making his existence known. The ship couldn’t have been here for more than an hour. Sussh hadn’t broken any rules that he knew of, but it was probably a good idea to play this safe.

Once the door opened and Scherezade stepped off the ramp, the first thing her nose did was wrinkle. She did not particularly like the smell of the planet, and she wasn't a big fan of being here in the first place. All the information she had indicated that Jellrek would be somewhere around here, but without something to pinpoint her a little narrowed, 'around here' could've meant miles and miles around. Bah, hambug.

Around her, she knew there was life all around. The planet was practically blooming with it. Most planets with forests and such were like that, she knew, but maybe it was the reason for her being her that made her… Less than happy to do so.

At least, she hoped, once that was over and done with, she could go and hunt a nexus. She'd never had nexus meat before, and her kitchen was almost entirely empty at this point. Filling it up with new game meat sausages sounded like a hell of a good time.

Sighing, Scherezade inhaled again, this time through the Force, using her Blood Hound abilities. She had hoped, that this would give her an inkling about where to start. It had not, and this disappointed her. With a shrug, she took a few more steps into the forest and raised her right hand, her left one pulling a piece of her armor back and then grabbing a knife, cutting the flesh.

"Force, give me a general direction," she half commanded, half prayed, and then added- "or you're fired."

Farseeing and Blood Hound abilities. Rare a precise thing, especially when she didn't have Jellrek's blood, but it… Yeah, there we go. The blood went in several directions, but it at least narrowed her potential territory down by half.

Scherezade moved her legs. She'd check North of where her ship was first; and then West if she couldn't find Jellrek or people with more information within a few miles.

This planet was rather vacant compared to the others in The Sith Empire's territory, apart from the wildlife there didn't appear to be any other inhabitants. So why in the universe was he following one of the other member's of The Agent's of Chaos? It was a question he would keep repeating to himself as he followed the familiar Sith he had seen around a few times at Eve. He hadn't properly been introduced, mainly going on tasks by himself or with a small group of people for The Wild Hunt. He hadn't taken note of many Agents that weren't hunters, but this one had struck him as important.

The emerald eyed Sith appeared to be doing some sort of force sorcery. He had hunted a few Jedi on Trandosha, but these abilities seemed more unique. Sussh didn't really know whether to be intrigued or annoyed by this, or perhaps both. It was when he crushed the branch underneath him where he realized he had got too lost in thought. He hissed under his breath.

Sussh gripped his rifle and stayed still, if she noticed the sound and turned to him he would ask what another Agent of Chaos was doing on a remote planet so far away from the Unknown regions.

She'd been unsure about whether or not she was being followed, and even more-so unsure of whether or not she was being followed by a native or someone who knew what she was and wanted to do something about it. Still, until she had more information in her hands, she was not going to stop what she was doing, and that was trying to sniff her traitor out.

It was only when the branch breaking noise was heard that Scherezade stopped, her brain screaming ah-ha!, and the rest of her body freezing in tension. She could easily locate the general direction from which the noise had come, and she turned, inhaling deeply through the Force.

Not her little traitor.

But then who? Inhaling again, she scented the Trandoshian, though she could not recall ever having scented that specific blood print of the person before. Still, most of her blades slid off her body, spreading around and behind her like a fan. She plucked a knife from the air and sent it spinning through the air, aiming it directly to where she knew the Trandoshan, whoever he or she was, was standing.

Sussh tensed as the woman in pink turned towards his direction. His surprised expression turned into a snarl as she threw the knife. This Trandoshan was no force user, but he quickly pulled out his Sword of Eve in attempt to block it. His predatory instincts gave him an advantage as he managed to slightly deflect it, changing the trajectory of the knife to just nick his shoulder instead of hitting a vital area.

He hissed once again and gripped his blaster repeater with his left hand, spraying in her direction. “I don’t know why you’re interrupting my hunt. But the Scorekeeper should be just as pleased with your hide.”

A trandoshan! Scherezade's memories surfaced at mega speed, bringing her back to her earlier days, when the Trandoshans of Coruscant had marked her as their enemy. It had been over a silly little fight, really. She'd killed one of them, but it was at one of the illegal pits, and it was totally legit. But they'd decided that the fact she'd won meant she'd cheated, and she'd been attacked by Trandoshans at several turns since.

"Your hide?!" she asked, two lightsaber hilts now sliding into her hands. She was going to have fun with this one. "I'm going to make a new pair of shoes out of you!"

Scherezade wasted no time. Her lightsabers ignited, forming an X as she jumped forward, ready to block any incoming attacks with the sword that-

That she recognized.

The Sithling froze mid-motion and stared at the Transdoshan. "Who did you kill to get that sword?!" she demanded.

He scoffed at her surprise and spoke in his throaty snarl, “Eve, the same place where I joined The Wild Hunt.” He once again slung his blaster over his shoulder, gripping the sword with both hands.

The Trandoshan stood in a battle stance for an awkward moment, seemingly lost in his own confusion. “..You didn’t come here to fight Sussh then?”

The Wild Hunt.

Scherezade blinked.

She looked at the Trandoshan, uncertainty appearing on her features for the first time that day. She was supposed to know most faces in the Wild Hunt, even if it was technically her sister's domain. She didn't know they had any Trandoshans in it.

"No, lizard," she scoffed, "I'm looking for someone who betrayed the Agents of Chaos. Not you - you don't have the right scent."

Pausing, her thumb flickered over the ignite button of one of her lightsabers."Unless you betrayed them too. In that case I can complete two missions for the price of one. Do you know Aeliar Jellrek?"

Sussh blinked, Scent?

There was no way this human had a smelling capability that could rival his, much less use it to track anything. It must be another sorcerer's trick.

"Aeliar.. I've heard the name before, but no. I don't know them." The Trandoshan gave an excited grin, "We have no quarrel here.I am here to appease The Scorekeeper, Nexu are worth a lot of points to the hunt. They're native here, they probably already got your prey."

Scorekeeper, Nexu, points, hunt…

Scherezade ran the terms through her mind, trying to remember what she could about Trandoshan culture, but not much came out. She was woefully ignorant of their ways, preferring more often than not to just kill them before they could kill her.

"Well if you're part of the Wild Hunt…" she mused, considering his words again, "Wanna come help me? I'm sure you'll get more cookie points for taking down a betrayer instead of some stupid beast you can't even make proper sausages out of."
