Does being frozen in carbonite mask force abilities?

The title says it all. I know kind of random, but there is purpose behind the question. Still, if one is frozen in carbonite, would his/her force presence no longer be there until thawed? I would say being in any state of stasis (carbon freezing, cryo, whatever) would have no bearing whatsoever. My reason is because of the first TOR. Where Malak fed off the force energy from the Jedi in those stasis tubes. Still, I wanted to get the opinion of the community before I try something. Thoughts?

I would think that would not affect them. There are countless examples of force users being lead to ancient figures frozen in stasis, who I assume found them because they could feel them to some degree. So perhaps their signature is just weakened?

However, I watched a Rebels episode where a Jedi Master's presence in the force lead the protagonist to her location, but she was in carbonite or dead or something. I don't really remember it very well honestly.

Even if all the "evidence" turns out to be irrelevant, there is no indication that Carbonite is special enough to mask the force or something, though I guess the decreased mental and biological activity might dampen the magnitude of the signature. If one is close, I imagine they can get a signature pretty easily, but may not be as stronger farther away.

I would lean towards it lessening the presence, as I would guess that the Midi-chlorians that connect a person to the Force would also be undergoing a stasis themselves, but it seems like a pretty nebulous area to me...

There is this on Wookieepedia's page on carbonite, which does seem to point to it lessening the connection between the Force and a Force user:

: "While imprisoned in carbonite, a Force user could not use the Force, or interact with it on any significant level, making it a useful Jedi containment tool. "

Hmmm. Interesting. I wonder what that would do on force sensitive creatures, or creatures that have an affect on the force....

What like a Carbonite Ysalamiri?

Interesting that you say that, but the wookiepedia page does say that force users cannot interact with the force in any meaningful way, and those lizards produce their fields by pushing against the force... with the force.

So then yeah, their effects would be negated. That goes for any other force sensitive entity... unless it somehow happens to made out of carbonite :p

The person frozen in carbonite was the only entity incapable of using the force. Their signature through the force would still be noticeable for others, as feelings in the force are left even after the death of a force sensitive (See: Every single "lingering" feeling in all of Star Wars History, specifically dark side auras). The only people hampered by the carbonite are those frozen by it.

The Admiralty
It's pretty simple why folks can't use the Force when frozen in carbonite... they are frozen in carbonite. They ain't conscious during that time and so can't actually do anything, it has nothing to do with their connection to the Force or whatever.
