Dominion of Taloraan

Sith-Imperial Campaign into the Western Outer Rim - Part II

Taloraan - Gas Giant
Planetary Description:
Taloraan was a gas giant with a breathable atmosphere at high altitudes, as well as abundant tibanna gas supplies. Taloraan possessed a spectacular ring system and strong magnetic field that made scanning from space very difficult. Taloraan was one of the rare gas giant worlds that supported life, which included sleft-chiffni, fleft-wauf, and island beasts.

Taloraan City:
Taloraan City was the capital city of Taloraan. It featured several tall, spire-like buildings atop a massive repulsorlift generator similar to technologies used on Bespin.

Native Species:
Sleft-chuff - The sleft-chuff were large airborne herbivores native to Taloraan. They inhabited the upper atmosphere of the planet, filling their hollow bodies with gas to keep them afloat. They grazed on clouds of single-celled plant organisms that they collected with their tentacles which were covered with feathery hairs.

Female sleft-chuffni usually gathered in herds of around a dozen, while males were solitary. The creatures were generally gentle and placid, but were known to become jittery during thunderstorms.

The sleft-chuff were domesticated by the Denfrandi, who used them as both transports and as mobile homes, attaching gondolas to the creatures’ undersides. Since the average sleft-chuff could carry up to fifty tons of dead weight, the Denfrandi and their homes did not present a burden to the creatures.
  • Average Height - 40-50 meters
  • Average Length - 200-300 meters
  • Diet: Herbivore

Fleft-wauf - The fleft-wauf were winged predators native to Taloraan, who hunted in packs. They were domesticated by the Wind Raiders, who used them as war mounts.
  • Avian Predator
  • Average Wingspan - 20 meters
  • Feather Color - Brown

Island Beast - The island beasts were colossal floating grazers native to Taloraan where they inhabited the upper atmosphere. Island beasts kept themselves afloat by storing gas inside their huge hollow bodies. They had thousands of tendrils hanging from their undersides and a hole on top and one at the bottom for intake and releasing gas.

The Wind Raider tribe of Humans had domesticated some of these creatures and used them as their homes, having built camps inside of them. Its tendrils were typically one to two kilometers long.
  • Average Length: 1 kilometer across

Immigrated Species:
Humans - The Humans of Taloraan are divided up into two tribe societies, the Denfrandi and the Wind Raiders.
  • Denfrandi - The Denfrandi were a tribe of Humans native to Taloraan, who were generally friendly towards strangers. They lived aboard airships called sleft-chuffni, which were in reality domesticated creatures inhabiting the higher atmosphere of Taloraan with gondolas attached to them.

The Denfrandi typically wore heavy wrappings, so as to protect themselves against the harsh winds of Taloraan, and would always carry grappling hooks used to swing themselves from gondola to gondola. They would also use them as weapons if necessary.

  • Wind Raider - The Wind Raiders were a tribe of Humans native to Taloraan. While normally peaceful, they became more warlike when Genogri assumed the title of chieftain some time during the Galactic Civil War. Greedy and power-hungry, he transformed the otherwise peaceful people into a fierce warrior people.

While centuries have passed since the Galactic Civil War, reports show that the Wind Raiders have not abandoned their warrior ways, and remain as violent as ever.

Proposed Objectives:

  • Objective A - Convince the warrior-like Wind Riders to wipe out the more peaceful Denfrandi and aid them in the genocide of the rival tribe. Seize the Denfrandi’s sleft-chuffni airship homes and gondolas and convert them into new settlements for the Wind Riders.
  • Objective B - When the Fringe Confederacy collapsed, they left behind massive airborne refineries in the upper atmosphere of Taloraan. We must secure and acquire these floating refineries for the One Sith.
  • Objective C - Invade and occupy Taloraan city. The governor of the city has refused peaceful Imperial occupation and indoctrination, and must be shown the errors of his ways. The survival of the civilian population is optional.
  • Objective D - Do your own thing, you know the drill.

Alright guys, as Belgaroth comes to a close it's time to plan and discuss the next dominion in that series across the Western Outer Rim. Next stop is Taloraan, an interesting gas giant with a bountiful supply of tibanna gas and a rich selection of fauna for us to contend with.

Loved helping with this one during the LoTF excursion....least I'm pretty sure it was the same...either way I literally blasted parts of cities out the sky.

Would love to have a go with different character
