Dominion Rules Modification

Current rule: The current rule states you must finish the story with a generally accepted minimum number of posts at 50.

Clarification: Writers must wrap up their own story, and a general wrap up post by a participant for all stories is not acceptable.

New rule: Finish the story to a reasonable extent with, at a minimum, a general end post wrapping up loose ends, with a generally accepted minimum number of posts at 50.

Reasoning: I know this isn't likely to happen all the time but sometimes people disappear for various reasons. Sometimes these people disappear permanently, sometimes it's a LOA. Whatever the reason, this means that segments of a story can't be concluded because writers aren't here. It should be acceptable for someone who participated in the story to write a post that wraps up/concludes the storylines once people stop posting. It's a real killer when you can't complete a Dominion because people disappear.

Hence the generally accepted minimum comment. This isn't about a post count, just about allowing a single participant to post wrapping up storylines. Ran into this issue recently where people went MIA so dominion can't be finished cuz they didn't finish their story.

I read this as you didn't want one person to wrap up all storylines and was like "Uhh what?" but then I reread it slowly and realized I'm illiterate.

I can agree with this. Yeah. Don't see why not. Seen all too many times people joining a dominion with one or two posts then vanishing.

The dominion rules do not state anywhere anything about a generally accepted minimum.

When this rule was implemented, the shift in posting requirements became:

3. Doing away with post limits and caring about who posts what - the focus is on roleplaying! But now they get judged for if its a spamfest, just two people carrying the faction on its back, or an actual dominion in the spirit of the map game.

EFFORT - How much effort has the Faction put into the thread? As a general guideline, 50 average posts is an acceptable effort.

Copied that straight from the dominion victory conditions. But again THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH POST COUNT, BUT WITH HOW THE STORIES ARE WRAPPED UP.

This is about the Story section and whether a single participant can be allowed to wrap up the thread when people disappear or have to go away for a while. Currently Ive been told were aren't supposed to do that, so how do we wrap up the story when the people writing a part of the story have disappeared. I'm asking for the rule to be changed to allow a single wrap up post.

I seem to have overlooked that condition, regardless, you've left the trailing context of that rule out in your reply. Also, there's no need to put your response in entire caps. I am capable of reading your response without the emphasis on shouting.

Staff will discuss a clarification.

You weren't the first who didn't get that I don't care about the post count so I was just trying to make it clear. Sorry.

Thanks for pushing it up to discussion.
