- [Strength] Due to their size and advanced technology, these Orbital Fabricators have a very large production capacity.
- [Strength] The automated factories of the Domitian are modular and can easily be configured towards any number of projects.
- [Weakness] With only average defenses, the Domitian will have to rely mostly on a garrison fleet for protection.
- [Weakness] It is technically possible to move the Domitian-Class Orbital Fabricators from their current location, but to do so would be a logistical nightmare costing billions of credits. For this reason alone, they cannot be moved.
The Domitian-Class Orbital Fabricators are behemoths of industry, constructed in an effort to consolidate and expand the Jaemus Shipyards. The Domitian-Class essentially represents an advancement of the Jaemus Shipyards, bringing them up to par and making them more useful to the ascendant Sith Empire.
The primary purpose of the Domitian is to construct and repair capital ships. They are, after all, mostly made from the raw materials outdated shipyards. In terms of efficiency and general productivity, the Domitian Orbital Fabricators have been equated to those of the neighboring system of Yaga Minor. Naturally, they are still a far cry from the Core World shipbuilders - like Fondor and Kuat.
The upper sections (the ones not dedicated to shipbuilding) contain a series of large foundries. Using molecular furnaces, the Domitian can break down raw materials, garbage, and political dissidents into usable manufacturing materials.
Lower and middle sections (the ones not dedicated to leisure and maintenance) are home to an array of semi-automated factories. These sections, owing to their modular nature, can be keyed to manufacture just about anything the owner wishes, whether it be war materiel or consumer goods.
These orbital fabricators came about through a joint project between the Helix Syndicate and the planetary government of Jaemus. The Helix Syndicate provided the original schematics for the Domitian and further helped coordinate the acquisition of manpower and materials.
Due to their involvement, the Syndicate has a controlling interest over roughly 20% of the drydocks, foundries, and manufacturing centers found on each Domitian-Class Orbital Fabricator. The Syndicate rents out these sections to other private companies and returns a portion of the proceeds to the Jaemus Planetary Government. The rest of each Domitian is state-owned, though they also rent out some sections as well.
It is rumored that most of the administrative and security staff on each Domitian have been bribed into being rather favorable towards the Syndicate. As usual, no one seems to be able to prove any of those claims.
