- Crystal: Iris's crystal is it's own being. A Rainbow Gem is a sentient life form, after all. It bonds with the young Padawan, helping to guide and protect Iris and find a deeper connection with the Light.
- Bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse: Valery's work as a Jedi Shadow requires her to be able to infiltrate in almost any type of environment, underwater environments included. For this reason, Iris copied her master, not wanting to hold Valery back.
- Sentience: The blade is alive. Or at least, the crystal within is. A close friend after Iris helped to rescue them, they travel with the Padawan to see the galaxy. When they work together, Iris can better channel the Force and even focus through use of Force Meld.
- Bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse: Due to this upgrade, Iris can use her lightsaber underwater.
- Material choice: With the Songsteel hilt the lightsaber is capable of taking several hits from another lightsaber before breaking down.
- Sentience: The blade is alive. And has it's own opinions. While they don't communicate more than feelings, they can flat out refuse to work with Iris or others if they choose to. They're also able to be killed, or even corrupted.
- Directed EMP/Ion: While the lightsaber has protection against interference, directed EMP or Ion attacks have the ability to knock components such as the Bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse offline.
For Iris, there was nothing ever normal about her experience as a Jedi. Her connection to the Force had her seeing colors that she couldn't describe, that others couldn't see. It was almost comical how she met her first lightsaber crystal. In what should of been the more classic path of completing a challenge of some kind to collect a Kyber crystal, Iris instead found herself connecting with a Rainbow Gem. Fully alive and sentient, it communicated through emotion.
Which, for the young padawan, Iris saw as colors. The friendship was unexpected, but there was no doubt in either of their minds of the connection formed. Domxite, as the Gem prefers to be called, allowed themselves to be turned into Iris's lightsaber to help protect the young Jedi as Iris had chosen to try and protect them. The lightsaber's color actually changes depending on the crystal's mood or desire. But, usually, it stays a light pink. The color Iris had found it as.
