OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Space Station Name: Dorado Station AKA Bastra Shadowport
  • Station Model: Harbor-class Mobile Space Dock
  • Classification: Shadow Port
  • Location: Outer Rim (Melida/Daan Hex)
  • Affiliation: Jolene Bastra
  • Population: Sparse
  • Demographics: A generous mix of human and alien.
  • Accessibility: It's remote -- people usually come here if they have a specific reason or happen to be drifting by. However, the station is available to those needing to repair or refuel or rest.
  • Traffic: Low. There's definitely people coming and going, but it's on a fairly small scale compared to the rest of the galaxy.
  • Description: There is nothing terribly special about the outward appearance of the station; Jo likes to keep it fairly unassuming. It isn't a complete dump, but it's no luxury station -- everything is well-used and utilitarian. There's a bit of grime, but the old 'rust-bucket' is still fit to serve ships. There are long docking arms that extend from the station's main hub, which allow passing ships to stop for refueling or repair. While the Dorado isn't outfitted to do major repairs, they make do -- and sometimes will even have some less than legal parts to sell.
POINTS OF INTEREST

Cantina:
named "the Hold," it's where Jolene spends most of her time. Patrons will find her behind the bar, probably smoking a hand-rolled cigarra. You can have any drink you want, as long as it's a Corellian Whiskey. She may appear placid in her apron, but she's got guns under there. This is where most of her business is conducted. Come for the day-old-caf and stay for the greasiest bantha burger you've ever had.

Promenade: This deck is located near the docking bays. Visitors will find a small handful of food stalls ready to serve up a quick bite. There's also scrappers that call the station home and can help find anything needed for repairs. A few shops line the walk, too -- stop in to find collectables, junk, and the occasional rare pieces.

Docking bays: Vessels may utilize one of many docking bays located along the arms of the station. Here, they may repair and refuel as needed. Occasionally, Jo will also have ships available for salvagers to purchase the rights to and strip for parts.

Crew Quarters: A bit more spacious and comfortable than the guest quarters, these rooms are meant for those that live aboard the station on a more permanent basis. This includes the staff that help keep the station operational and those few smugglers that have earned their place aboard the Dorado. Each crew room has a bed, small living space, kitchenette, and small refresher.

Guest Quarters: Small, but these rooms offer a space to crash. They feature a bunk-bed or sometimes a small twin-sized bed... and that's about it. The amenities are few, however, anything else needed can be found around the station, including: public refreshers, food, and such.

Medbay: There's a standard medical facility aboard, but it's rarely staffed by anything other than droids. It'd be best not to go having a major medical event or you may have to be transported to a nearby world for help (and might die on the way).

Captain's Quaters: Jo's personal space is located on a small, but private floor of the station. Access is extremely limited to this space to ensure her privacy. Here, she has a roomy place to bed down for the night -- or monitor the station from her private security suite if she's a bit restless.

SECURITY
Low:
while Jolene does employ her own private security teams, they'd be spread thin in a big conflict. The station itself is quite vulnerable and would rely on any smugglers calling it home to help defend it.

Armament (per the Wiki):
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
No one said that Jolene took the Harbor-Class station by force, but people generally understand that's how it happened.

It's maybe (definitely) how she acquired the station, years back now -- not to say that she didn't make enemies in the process. After years of working as a smuggler, Jolene Bastra was finally ready to retire. Running goods isn't easy, and she didn't think her back could take it any more. So, she decided to put down on a station and create a network of her own smugglers to do the dirty work for her. She first mate is Granwrarrrra, an old (Wookie) mercenary buddy and the head chef of Dorado station. The station isn't much to look at, but that's the way Jo likes it. It isn't the strongest or the fastest, but Jo doesn't mind that, either. She's been an underdog all her life, after all.

Of course, the station is available to anyone passing through, and Jo won't turn down a few extra credits.
