[SIZE=8.5pt]Born to peasants in the Core Imperial Confederation at the height of its power, Vakel knew only a life of struggle and hardship until he was about 7 years old. One day, two men dressed in black hooded robes came to the Vakel family home in the underworld of Coruscant. The men explained to his parents that they were aware of their son’s force abilities, (a fact that the family wanted desperately to keep secret) and that they were here to take him to be trained in the ways of the dark side and serve in an elite group of dark side adepts called the Saber of the Empire. Their goal was to weed out enemies of the Empire that were deemed too dangerous for conventional warfare to handle. [/SIZE]
[SIZE=8.5pt]Over the next several years, Vakel trained on an unknown, honing his skills and learning the ways of the dark side. By the time he was about 17 years of age, his training was nearly complete. He just had one final test. At some point during his time on this planet, the two men that initially came to take Dorriun went back and kidnapped his parents. Dorriun’s final test was to kill his parents and sever all connections with his past life. With only minimal hesitation, Vakel completed his final trial and executed his parents.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=8.5pt]From that point forward, he was a member of the Saber of the Empire. He would go with the group all over the galaxy and carry out assassinations, executions, exterminations and anything else of the sort. He was taught to hate the Jedi and fear anyone that could pose a potential threat. By the time he was 25, Dorriun started to feel as though other members of the order were plotting to kill him. In his paranoia, during a flight to their next target, Dorriun (who had been piloting the ship up until now) sabotaged the controls, sending the shuttle on a collision course with a nearby planet. An intense lightsaber battle ensued as other members of the order tried desperately to undo the damage that Vakel had done. Dorriun was able to kill two of his former comrades in the lightsaber fight but the last one, the order leader, held his own. Eventually the stalemate was interrupted as the shuttle slammed into a building on the planet surface. The ships shielding prevented too much serious damage to the shuttle itself but both Dorriun and his former master were tossed straight out of the shuttle and Dorriun was knocked unconscious[/SIZE]
[SIZE=8.5pt]When he came to, Dorriun was being treated by the locals in a medical facility. The doctors explained that the didn’t know how anyone could have survived the crash but assured him that he was going to make a full recovery. He spent the next few days getting treated for multiple lacerations and broken bones. Upon his release from the facility, he immediately went back to the crash site in the dead of night to see if he could find Rodek, his former master. Unfortunately for Dorriun, there was no trace of him. The only thing left amid the debris were the two lightsaber hilts the two had used to battle each other. Vakel took both and went into hiding. After scrounging up enough credits to afford it, he took the first transport off the planet and went deep into First Order space. While there he enlisted in the military, deciding to keep his force abilities a secret. Over the next 10 years, he worked his way up until he was a captain in the navy. He commanded a Star Destroyer stationed in the outskirts of First Order space. However it wasn’t long before the First Order began to crumble and contact with central command was lost. Vakel took his one ship and retreated into Imperial space. Once there, he requested political asylum and offered to allow the Imperial Confederation to commandeer his ship. He negotiated the terms with the Minister of Defense, a Chiss named Shran, who oversaw immigration into the Confederation.[/SIZE]
[SIZE=8.5pt]The two later became good friends and Vakel even began to do freelance work as a personal bodyguard for Shran. So it was no surprise that when the Imperial Confederation began to crumble, Shran and Vakel stuck together and retreated with limited resources to the Unknown Regions in the hopes of rebuilding the Empire. Vakel decided that this would be his chance. He revealed himself to Shran as a sith and proclaimed that if the Empire was to be rebuilt, he wanted a seat at the top. Shran saw little benefit in trying to fight the decision and thus a new Empire would be born from the ashes of the old.[/SIZE]
