Double the Fun

Bastion had been exciting, and important for Kad Tor. First he couldn't remember the last time he had so much fun blowing things up. The next time he was needed, the Mando'ad was sure to answer the call. Secondly the fighting, and the risks he had to take confirmed one thing for him, [member="Ralize Darkfeather"] was the woman he was madly in love with. That's why after getting rid of [member="Kable Detta"] and [member="Briika Tor"], Kad asked Ral to move out of her tiny little apartment and live with him in his way bigger than what one person needed house. A decision that Kad had not said anything to Kable or Briika about even when Kable came to get some new armor after his promotion to Rally Master.

Kad had received the same honor, so there was something to celebrate. Ral and Kad had wanted to double date with Kable and Briika for a while, but bastion had gotten in the way of that. They finally had things arranged. Kad would grill, Ral would make the uj cake, and Kable and Briika were responsible for drinks and salad. There were certain sides that went standard with nerf ribs, and Kad would take care of those. The meal would good, and hopefully the evening would be fun too.

The Mando'ad went straight to the grill. He fired it up and put the meat on. Low and slow was the way to go. The ribs would be done after taking a good portion of the afternoon, but since he was his own boss, Kad closed the shop early. Tonight was about family and fun, and yes, that meant Ral, because as far as Kad was concerned he was in it for the long haul.

Briika pulled her landspeeder up to the side entrance of the Detta Brewery and Distillery and honked for her husband. While she had made a potato salad for the BBQ get together with [member="Ralize Darkfeather"] and [member="Kad Tor"] at her brother's place, [member="Kable Detta"] was in charge of getting the drinks though he'd never be able to transport them on his speeder bike so she offered to pick him up with the goods.

"Come on, cyar'ika. We'll be late if you don't get a move on it," Bree called out as she waited in the speeder for the dark haired Detta brother to come out.

The mechanic hummed a soft tune to herself, distracted enough to dance around the kitchen as she finished preparing the uj'alayi. She'd gone a bit overboard as usual, making it in the largest pan she could get her hands on. Which was considerable...amazing the things you could find in Keldabe if you knew where to look. It was way too much for four Mando'ade...but left overs would be doled out and given away as per usual. Stars knew her regulars down at the shop loved sitting down for a slice while they waited for their repairs to be completed.

With the last of the syrup poured over the uj to soak in, she padded about barefoot and cleaned things up in order to be prepared. She was almost disturbingly neat, and she wanted nothing out of place for this visit. They still hadn't broken the news about their living arrangments, and Ralize was uncertain how Briika would react.

Bastion had been...a trial. A good one, in the end, but it had put her through the ringer, as the saying went. So much had happened between herself and Kad that it was almost too much to comprehend at times. They'd been nearly inseparable before Bastion had happened...and after...it only cemented what her instincts had told her since the day she'd met Kad with his broken down speeder. She loved him with every fiber of her being, and there was no way in the 'verse she ever wanted to imagine herself without him.

Deeming the kitchen done, she padded outside barefoot and sighed softly at the sight of him sprawled in a chair by the grill. A tiny, warm smile curled her lips and lit her emerald gaze. "Kad'ika...how's it going? The uj is done...it'll be still warm and perfectly soaked in syrup by the time we're ready..." she said softly, curling up in his lap.

Kad did what all men did when working a grill, he found his favorite patio chair, popped open an ale, and waited for the meat to get done. He got up occasionally to check on it, but the routine was pretty much the easiest thing in the world. The peace and quiet brought a lot of thoughts to his mind about where things had been and where they were headed. He was a tad nervous to spill the beans on his current living arrangement. He expected @BriikaTor to be shocked and then ready to ream him up one side and down the other. [member="Kable Detta"] being a smart man, would stay quiet, take Briika's side, and then likely call Kad a hound later, or not. Kad was still getting to know him.

When [member="Ralize Darkfeather"] padded out barefoot, the casually dressed Mando'ad smiled. A smile which only grew when she joined him on the chair and curled up in his lap with him. The two had recently become rather intimate with their relationship. In all honesty there was no reason they hadn't privately made their own riduurok. Well there was the matter of meeting Ral's family. It would not go well for her to just show up married out of the blue.

"The meat is doing just fine, cyar'ika. Low and slow, I would guess another hour and they'll be done."

Kad tugged at Ral's chin and brought her lips to his. He loved kissing her soft lips. Every kiss was magic, and the more he kissed her, the more he wanted to kiss her. Which he let himself do.

"You know there isn't any real reason why I need to be down here," he said as he stood up with Ral in his arms.

Kad tossed her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and started for the house. Up the stairs, and down the hall to the right was his destination. The pair had some time to kill, and they might as well enjoy each other while they were waiting. It was not long before Ral was tossed onto the bed they shared with Kad undressing her. The country boy and the little spitfire were about to have some fun.

Kable was excited that [member="Kad Tor"] had set up a double date for the four of them. [member="Briika Tor"] and Kable were in charge of the salad and the drinks.
Well, Kable immediately volunteered to be in charge of the drinks as it had become his specialty since he had opened the Brewery.
He had been experimenting with several recipes, one such recipe was in the keg that he had slung over his shoulder. It was a malt brew with a hint of spice.

He heard the sound of Briika's speeder, the horn actually, and walked out the side entrance with the keg.
As he walked up to the speeder where his riduur was seated in the drivers seat, Kable gave her a blissful smile, one that he gave very often, pretty much every time he saw her.
He placed the keg in the back and returned to the driver's seat and planted a kiss on his wife's lips.
He was wearing his undershirt, as he had been working all morning so he didn't have time to go further with the kiss.
"I'll be right back cyar'ika, let me throw a shirt on and grab the pint glasses."
He gave her another quick kiss before hurrying back inside.

He quickly threw his green button up on, and grabbed the stack of pint glasses and locked up the brewery. He jumped in the passenger seat tapped his wife on the upper thigh.
"Ready to go my love" [member="Briika Tor"]

"Mmmmkay…. " Bree smiled sweetly as their lips parted and she released [member="Kable Detta"]'s undershirt from her grasp so he could go get the pint glasses and his outer shirt still inside the brewery. The blonde watched her well-built husband with delight as the young Mando'ad walked away from the speeder. The dark-haired Detta brother looked good from any angle with or without clothing, though the latter was preferred of course. After all, they were still newlyweds even though a couple of months had passed since their riduurok and finding out the joys of being married as both had waited for their wedding night to indulge in that privilege of the flesh.

Briika was wearing a knitted halter-style sundress with a pair of strapy flat sandals so when her husband returned to the speeder and placed his hand on her bare thigh it made her really wish they didn't have someplace to be at right now. She sighed to herself, then answered playfully. "I'm always ready to go, Kab'ika," she winked, then punched the accelerator as she pulled out onto the street with her long golden tresses dancing in the breeze en route to her vod'ika's home on the banks of the Kelita river, which nearly surrounded Keldabe like a natural moat.

Arriving a few minutes early for the 'double date', Briika knocked on [member="Kad Tor"]'s door. When there was no answer, she used her key code to let them inside the house. The combined heavenly smell of the meat cooking on the barbecue and the uj cake cooling on the kitchen counter made Bree's stomach growl as she hadn't really had anything since the caf she'd made before doing her morning chores around the Detta homestead. She put the potato salad in the cooling unit while Kable brought the keg in and got it ready to go….. That's when she heard a noise coming from upstairs; well not one but many that was oh so familiar.

"Oh.. my… stars!" Bree said excitedly, a mix of emotions on her face as she walked over quickly to where her riduur was setting up the keg outside. "I think Kad and [member="Ralize Darkfeather"] are upstairs doing it," she said in a hushed voice when it came to those last two words.

She was having quite a bit of trouble catching her breath.

An emerald glance to the chrono on the table near the bed assured her they had some few minutes to stay right where they were, entangled together. The after-effects of pleasure lingered in her veins and made her mostly unwilling to move, save for her fingers trailing an absent pattern across his chest.

"Astin min..." she said softly, lifting her head to gaze at him, head propped on a hand on his chest. She smiled and kissed him lightly, cheeks warm as..well. As they always seemed to be in these moments; flushed with warmth and ever since they came home from Bastion, with pleasure.

"...they'll be here soon. I'll run down and check the grill. You...find something else to wear. That shirt I took off of you earlier is far too well fitting and distracting." Ralize said with a touch of heat in her voice as she neatly avoided his grasp and slid out of their bed. She grinned as she stole the shirt in question, buttoning it up and flouncing out of the bedroom - hair still completely mussed.

It was long enough to be a dress on her, given their height difference, so she had no issue wandering downstairs and out onto the patio where the grill was.

Where [member="Briika Tor"] and [member="Kable Detta"] were.

Briika. Kable.

She blinked, and swallowed hard, trying to find her voice.

Ralize stopped in her tracks, emerald eyes wide. "You're here! And...and...you're early...maybe...and I...should-really-really-go-get-dressed-would-you-mind-checking-the-grill?" she said in a rush before retreating back inside and up the stairs with a great deal of haste.

Astin min = my love

[member="Kad Tor"]

W-O-W is all Kad could think to himself as he lay on his back catching his breath. He loved the feeling of [member="Ralize Darkfeather"]'s petite fingers tracing across his bare chest. The petite brunette may have been small compared to Kad, but she definitely was a spitfire and firecracker where it counted. Not that Kad had any comparison to make. Ral had been his only and he intended for that to be the case for the rest of his life. Leave it to the universe to pair a tall country boy with a short city girl. Whatever though, Kad loved his little spitfire.

He chuckled when she managed to slip from his grasp as he tried pulling her in for more. The ribs could burn for all he cared at this point, but Ral did have a point. If [member="Briika Tor"] knew what was going on right now he would be in big trouble. He would never hear the end of it, and she would buir'ika and that would be over the top drama he didn't need. Kad stuck his tongue out when his brunette stole the shirt from the floor, but soon he was out of the bed, the rather messed up bed, and getting dressed himself.

As Ral went downstairs, Kad smacked her cute little butt as he opened the closet. A blue plaid button down was the first thing saw. Grabbing the shirt, he put it on and went to head down the stairs. As he reached for the door, Ralize busted in saying something about Briika and [member="Kable Detta"] being at the house and down stairs already. That meant they knew, and Kad was in big trouble.

"Wait slow down and say that again, I don't think I heard you right."

[member="Briika Tor"]
Kable was in the middle of setting up the keg when his riduur's whispered voice caused him to turn around. There was a volley of emotions on her face, Kable pulled her into a hug. He was about to ask his wife if she was sure that she wasn't hearing things wrong, when a dark haired [member="Ralize Darkfeather"] came outside in nothing but a shirt, a shirt made for a more muscular figure than hers, more like a beskarsmith. [member="Kad Tor"]

Kable bit his lip to keep from laughing aloud while the dark haired woman awkwardly greeted them then fled back inside. He feared if he laughed, he might have to be admitted to the medical plaza due to injuries sustained from a certain blonde medic.

He had no words, so he just kissed his wife and did as he was told, he checked the grill.

Briika knew it and [member="Ralize Darkfeather"]'s appearance confirmed it. And oh was [member="Kad Tor"] going to get a piece of her mind when he got his hopefully covered backside down stairs! Geez… Couldn't her vod'ika keep his hormones in check?! Bree was fuming at his actions and not following their traditional family values. Their buir'ika would be just as upset at him too, though she could just see their buir slapping Kad on the back with an "atta boy" attitude. Men?! That is why she'd married [member="Kable Detta"]. He was a true gentleman.

The kiss from her husband took the of the heat out of Briika's fiery storm of emotions. In fact his loving gesture was like a fire retardant, but it wouldn't take much to restart the fire. As Kable checked the food on the barbecue, the blonde poured them each a draft, then sat down on the lounger to relax, sipping heartily, and awaited the lovebirds to join them.

"Mmmm… You got a good do on this, cyar'ika."

Fingers rose up to smooth out his shirt, ensuring the collar was perfect and two of the buttons were open. It gave her a moment to catch her breath and try to tame her racing thoughts as she stood there and fussed.

Taking a deep breath, she spoke, albeit very softly. "[member="Briika Tor"] and [member="Kable Detta"] are early. They were outside setting up the keg when I went down to check on the grill. Reasonably sure they figured out what we were doing by the way I was dressed, Kad'ika. Give me...give me a minute to get dressed and we'll go down together."

Letting go of his shirt, Ralize sighed and moved to get dressed. She combed through her dark curls until they were in a much better state, hanging like so much silk down her back to her waist. Underthings were next, followed by the dress she'd planned on wearing, a sparkly black number that she'd bought back home and never had the chance to wear.

Heels that lent her several inches in height were waiting by the door, which she stepped into as she smoothed out her dress absently. Taking his hand, she squeezed it lightly before stealing a kiss.

[member="Kad Tor"]

Oh Frak! That was the first thing which ran through Kad's mind. He knew that Briika was already forming her lecture, not that it would change anything. Kad and Ral were already planning on telling the newlyweds of their decision to live together, and everything that implied. Ral had been honest with Briika a couple of weeks ago at their celebration. The pair had talked about seeing Ral's family before making a riduurok. A least they had talked about it, and they would have been content in waitin for that moment, except for what happened on Bastion. With life so short and fragile, they decided they wanted to be together for the rest of their lives, and after almost getting killed, waiting seemed like a moot issue.

"It's okay cyar'ika," Kad said wrapping her up in his large arms. "We already decided to tell them tonight, just not like how they found out. I am sure Briika will insist on a riduurok, but like you already told her, we are going to Nar Shaddaa first."

When Ral stole another kiss, Kad leaned I to it, deepening it. [member="Kable Detta"] wasn't the only one that could calm his woman with a kiss, though, Kad had learned that there was a fine line between calming his spitfire and igniting a wildfire. Kad couldn't complain though. Despite breaking from the traditional values of his family, Kad was happy.

Hand in hand, the pair walked down the stairs to where Kable and [member="Briika Tor"] were waiting by the grill. Kable touched his grill, a big no no in man world, but Kad wasn't going to go there. A smile crossed his face as if the married couple had no clue what had happened moments before.

"Glad you could make it, early," Kad said with some emphasis. "Maybe next time you'll call?"

[member="Ralize Darkfeather"]

Hearing footsteps approaching, Kable quickly filled two pints of ale and hurried over to the young couple. He forced the glasses into their hands and excitedly said "Here! try our new batch, tell me what you think" Then looking at Kad he whispered "Pound it, you're gonna need it"
He forced a laugh, trying to smooth over the situation. Kable had been in countless battle and had never as helpless as he did now. Family dynamics were something he was getting used to. Until recently, he only had to worry about Nolan, and with him you just let him be and watch his back. Their growing family came with a whole new set of rules....

Why was she getting the glare from her brother when [member="Kad Tor"] should be getting it from her?!

"Chill, vodi'ka… We were only like ten minutes early and no one answered the door as it seems you and [member="Ralize Darkfeather"] were busy. No biggie really. I know where my way around the place," Briika said with an all too knowing look, then proceeded to refill her glass from the keg.

She definitely needed to water down the fire burning in her stomach. Kad was a man now just as she was a woman, and his decisions were his own to make regarding personal issues of this sort so Big Sis needed to take the high road and let it go… but it was so hard to do.

After taking another decent pull of the new brew Bree turned back around, winked at [member="Kable Detta"], then smiled warmly at the other two. "All the great smells of the food are making me so hungry. Let's eat shall we?"

Emerald eyes were tight with concern around the edges, her free hand tight around the glass that [member="Kable Detta"] had handed her. She did manage a smile for Kable though, draining her glass in rather quick order as her fingers remained tightly twined with [member="Kad Tor"]'s.

Her gaze cast between the two Tor siblings with a sigh, and Ralize gently shook her head. Perhaps it wasn't her place, but this was her family now, these three people - the least she could do was try to smooth things over. She took a deep breath and looked up at Kad, every ounce of her love and adoration in her gaze before she let go of his hand.

"Kable...this tastes amazing. The spice combination is absolutely perfect...thank you for bringing it. I'll happily be your taste tester anytime." the young mechanic smiled brightly, giving him a hug after waving her empty glass at him. "Would you pour me another one?"

Turning to [member="Briika Tor"], she held out a hand and smiled. "Briika, we can absolutely eat. Would you give me a hand inside?" Ralize asked warmly, hoping she'd agree as she wanted a word with the woman away from Kable and Kad.

(ooc: for whatever reason I never got the notice I was tagged... the tag system is glitching methinks...)

To say Kad was surprised when [member="Briika Tor"] let the issue be was an understatement. [member="Kable Detta"] seemed to have a good affect on his sister, but there was the underlying concern that he still may here it from Briika later. It wasn't that Briika would be angry with him, more disappointed that he broke from the traditional upbringing they had been raised with. Perhaps Kad would have stayed with it had he not nearly been killed on Bastion. It was the journey back to Mandalore when Kad and Ralize came together for the first time. Kad's thoughts simply being that he had nearly died, and he would not let another moment pass before declaring his love for [member="Ralize Darkfeather"] in a physical way.

The brew was good, and Kad nodded to Kable to let him know it was indeed good. In fact since Ral was after a refill, Kad produced his now empty glass as well. He took another sip before saying anything, besides Ral was already whisking Briika into the house. His gaze followed, admiring her shape, a sigh escaping his lips as he was simply overwhelmed by the feelings he had for her.

"How is it they have that kind of power," Kad asked Kable. "We better get the meat off... it smells like it's done. I believe the plan is to eat out here since the weather is so nice. Hopefully they don't take too long in there."

Shieldmaiden of Clan Munin (semi-retired)
Briika nodded with a smile of her own to the petite raven-haired mechanic, then made sure her glass was topped off, pressing a loving kiss to [member="Kable Detta"]'s lips in thanks. She flashed a devilish wink to [member="Kad Tor"] before taking [member="Ralize Darkfeather"]'s offered hand and following her vod'ika's spitfire into the kitchen. The two women really did need to talk. There was so much Bree could say that Kad would kill her for. Oh this day was going to be fun even though it started off a bit rocky.

Kable let out a very loud sigh as the women retreated into the house. Looking to Kad, he gave his brother-in-law a smile.
"Tell me about. The galaxy has it all wrong. It's not the Mandalorian men you have to watch out for, it's the woman who are holding our leashes"
He held out a plate for Kad to begin placing the meat on.

The evening had started out rather awkwardly, but hopefully, the two couples had fallen into a comfortable rhythm. Kable knew that there were things that the Tor siblings needed to discuss, but tonight was about having fun.

The emerald eyed mechanic took a long, deep drink from her glass, as she held onto [member="Briika Tor"]'s hand. She led the way inside, and into the warm, cozy kitchen space. Setting her glass down on the counter, she gently squeezed Briika's fingers before letting go and leaning back against the same spot. The table outside had already been set with dishes, silverware, and a plethora of napkins, the only thing the girls really needed to do was retrieve the salad and the fresh rolls staying warm in the oven.

By Ralize's estimation, it gave them more than enough time to have a little chat.

"Briika..." the younger woman began, biting her lower lip for a moment before continuing. "...I know...this isn't exactly the tradition in your family. It's not the tradition in mine either. It's just that...after Bastion...after..." She turned away for a moment, fussing with the platter the uj cake was displayed on.

"I knew I was going to marry him the day I met him...one look and I was absolutely gone. We were going to wait. Go the traditional route. But after Bastion, we didn't want to wait anymore...couldn't find a reason to anymore. We almost took our riduurok right there...I just...I want him to meet my family first and we've not had the chance to get to Nar Shaddaa."

Taking a deep breath, Ralize forced herself to turn back around and face the blonde. "We were planning on telling you this afternoon, for the record. I hope you can forgive us..." her voice trailed off, emerald eyes wide and blinking with a host of emotions flickering across her features.

[member="Kad Tor"] | [member="Kable Detta"]

Kad just nodded as he placed the meat on the plate. His mind wasn't on the task at hand, but rather whatever it was the women were discussing. Whatever it was, they were taking more time than they needed to. It wasn't that Kad had meant to break with tradition, but it just didn't seem so necessary after nearly dying. Kad had wanted to take their riduurok on the transport back to Mandalor, but Ral had wanted to go to Nar Shaddaa first, so they compromised. The truth, they had both wanted to be together since they met.

"Yeah, you know what they say... train your daughters to be stronger... and believe me the Tor women fit that. Ral is gonna fit right in!"

With the meat on the plate, all the men could do was wait.
