Private Double Trouble

Vulpesen Vulpesen Kimiko Taiyou Kimiko Taiyou Laraine Laraine (in whatever character you pick)

Willow and Ivy needed help. Although Vyn Daldoure Vyn Daldoure was an amazing bodyguard, they couldn't leave him to do all the work when someone struck against them. Especially if it was a Force User. The twins were Force Sensitive, although their skills lay in telepathy, mostly with eachother, precognition and reading the future. Such skills weren't optimal in protecting them from harm. And their physical attachments made it difficult for them to engage in combat.

One of their weaknesses was that they could feel eachother's pain. So hurting one hurt them both. That left them at quite the disadvantage, and quite vulnerable to attacks.

So the twins put their feelers out there, utilizing some of the contacts through the Black Sun and reached out to a few other Force Sensatives that might help them with their plight. And most importantly, with people that wouldn't try to take them away from Broka. Quite a few that they had encountered had viewed the twins as slaves that needed to be rescued. But in their minds that wasn't necessary. They didn't consider themselves to be slaves due to their small salary and freedom around the Palaces. Plus they got to do a bit of travelling! They weren't forced to do anything. Their loyalty earned them more freedoms and permissions. Without Broka the Hutt Broka the Hutt and the Black Sun to look after them, the twins felt certain that they'd be lost.

Their message to their potential teachers relayed the co-ordinates to the Palace that they were currently in, as well as which atrium they were at on a specific day. All that the twins needed to do was be there.

It had been some time since the Empress had any sort of interaction with the Hutts, but a request for help was impossible too pass up.

A holo-message had fallen into her lap of a pair of twins requesting help with matters of self defense and combat. This had piqued some interest and the Empress had cleared a significant portion of schedule to satisfy the request. She had also ensured to bring some specialists with her to assist. For one, was Grand Master Sonoda of the Imperial Knights, who would be her chief security and physical combat instructor. Another guest was her own daughter, Ojo Fyre, who's prodigal Force capabilities would be of use.

Of course the regular security and logistics support came along for the ride.

Upon arrival, the SIN Cyaron, landed comfortably at one of the palace's landing pads, and Ki and her main crew were escorted to perform the customary greetings and through clever translation and negotiations, the Imperial personnel were permitted too see their hosts.

Upon entering the grand room of the palace, before the master himself, Ki and company bowed low,"Greetings your excellency. I am Kimiko, Empress of the Sakura Empire. I have come at the behest of your own Willow and Ivy who have requested assistance with training of the martial sort. With your permission, all powerful one, I would like myself and my gathered subjects to be able to accomplish this task to further their development." she looked up, offering her typical bright smile in greeting.

Though a ruler in his own right, Vulpesen's arrival was far less conspicuous. He had received the message of a rather unique pair requesting aid in honing their force abilities, and for him, it was the perfect opportunity to spread the teachings of his more reclusive order. The Wilders needed more people to be adept in their skills, even if there was virtually no chance of them joining their ranks. To know that their ways were out there was enough for him.

While he had heard word that the sith had quit their slavery endeavors, there was still a bit of trepidation as he arrived at the Hutt's Palace. To say he didn't get along with crime syndicates was a bit of an understatement. Still, this was not a request of the Hutts, but rather an independent and as far as he coudld tell, innocent pair of young women who had a thirst for knowledge. Perhaps that was why he had decided to bypass any meeting with Broka and make his way to Willow & Ivy Willow & Ivy . It also made way to explain the squad of his personal guards who had accompanied, though captain Harlow and his men would stay aboard the Vixen unless they found themselves in the unlikely event of something going horribly wrong in what should be a amicable meeting.

Striding into the atrium, Vulpesen wouldn't pose an imposing figure in terms of size, though his dark clothing, rune covered garments, and the myriad of daggers placed around his body would bear the markings of someone for whom conflict was a normal part of life. "You must be Miss Willow and Miss Ivy. Vulpesen Torrevaso, Valde of the VItae and Archwilder of the Veran Wilders. A pleasure to meet you." Just as his clothes covered his scars, his voice showed no trace of the wars he had seen, being kind and polite to the pair as he approached.

Broka sat on his throne within the main atrium of his palace. It was the usual affairs, and thus Broka sat there relatively bored. The only thing to engage his interest was the meal fresh from the kitchens the servants just rolled out on a tray for him. Fifth dinner was always among his favorite meals. He gluttonously devoured the food before him in a near-ravenous way. By the time he put his head back upright to then reach for a sip of his drink, slobber coated his chins and lips. He called a servant over for a rag to wipe his lips with before he drank, where he wiped his lips off but left the chins be, for now at least. He then took a sip of the brandy at his side. It was served in the same chalice that held the wine usually. Broka did not mind that though. The drink in the cup being cold, refreshing, but possessing a slight kick was all he required. He did not expect any meetings. None were necessarily scheduled on this night. Being on Nar-Shaddaa was rather taxing. He had to be here more often now with his duties of being the first Supreme Mogul of the Hutt Republic. He had to be closer to his work now with all the new administrative duties, but also to be closer in the area to make sure the other families remain on relatively good terms.

However, the seemingly boring night would end as a band of people of somewhat high standing from appearance came in rather ostentatiously. It was lead by a woman of a species Broka has never seen before. The others were of similar species as far as Broka could tell. The had symbols on their armor of a nation Broka did not recognize. Were these people who wanted to deal with the Hutt Republic? This was not the way he would have expected them to reach out, but he would not mind if that was the case. Yet, the colossal Hutt's thoughts on the matter changed as she spoke to him. The twins reached out to others to come here and train them for combat? Call it self defense, but he knew combat, and he felt rather threatened by the idea. Their powers could be turned against him if others weighed in. He heard of strange figures coming to his palace while he was not looking to talk with the twins, but all seemed to leave disappointed or intrigued. People have come to take his prize nicely and failed as far as he assumed. Now the twins want to learn how to fight off these people, or are they getting training to run off and betray him. His eyes narrowed when this Empress of the Sakura Empire spoke. He was reading her disposition. Her intentions seemed genuine interestingly. A sort of "do-gooder" way of thinking shown on her, but also some curiosity. At least she showed respect unlike the other moralists or imperials. Interestingly how an imperial of seemingly moralist standing showed respect more respect than those of either the two categories. It was a pleasant change of pace when dealing with others.

(In Huttese) "<I have never heard of this Sakura Empire before. On top of that, you come to my house without invitation, and sought an audience with me. Very bold of you. Have you not shown the proper respect, you and your escort would have been removed from my palace rather quickly. You say you want to train my courtiers self defense, and have come here at their request? Then please, allow me to have them summoned here.>"
He then waved a hand towards one of the servants to fetch the girls. The servant then quickly scampered off to find them. Dissapearing into the crowd of regulars, gangsters of his organization, and goons.
"<Now, in the meantime, would you care to explain what your empire is for me? The galaxy is a large place, and other organizations get a lot of limelight leaving the smaller ones like ours out of the larger eye of events. Despite not holding as much power as the larger nations in the galaxy, I assume you hold some bit of noteworthy power? What makes your people worthy of training those two combat skills? Though, as one leader of politics to another, I think we could do business depending on what goods or service I provide that may be of interest for you, and what opportunities you could proved me. If your empire is as powerful as you display yourselves here before me, I trust you could be worthy of the Nem'ro's attention? Throughout history, the wealth of Hutt Space has attracted many to the courts of the Lordas, but that means we must be picky of who we provide that wealth to. I hope you understand.>"

Vulpesen Vulpesen was easy to spot among the crowd of people, for he was unknown to them. Willow and Ivy had been here for a while now and they had come to recognize all of the regulars that made their appearances within the Palace.

The man introduced himself, speaking in a light tone that made the girls smile.

"You carry many titles. It must be quite the mouthful." The twins knew of one other with such a long list of titles and that was Ingrid L'lerim Ingrid L'lerim .

"But they flow from your tongue rather nicely."

"Which should we address you by?"

It was then that a curiosity made her way into the atrium, and that was Laraine Laraine . She arrived in a chair of sorts, not very different from that which Hutts favoured. "Yes. My sister and I are in need of--" Ivy's words were cut off as a servant rushed over to the twins and whispered in Willow's ear. Already she could feel her body tense up a little and with a subtle cue, they both rose to their feet in unison. "I'm sorry. We are being summoned by Broka the Hutt Broka the Hutt and we must go to him."

"It may be better if you come with us, but the choice is yours. You are not obligated to follow."

Without another word, Willow and Ivy left the atrium, following the servant that was sent to find them. Their arms were linked and they made no effort to to try to look ahead and see what was in store for them. Instead they just took it all in stride. No doubt he had somehow heard of what they have been up to.

Yet seeing Kimiko Taiyou Kimiko Taiyou and her entourage caught them by surprise. Perhaps they were being summoned for a different reason altogether. Maybe it was just to attend another political meeting...

Willow and Ivy approached Broka and bowed their heads low. "You summoned us, Your Grace?"

"I'm glad you think so. however, such titles are only the ones that are relevant to this meeting. I assure you, I have many more. If you wish, Vulpesen or Valde will work just fine. Archwilder would be my title within my order, though I understand if its a bit long." A lopsided grin touched his features. "Not quite as succinct as the jedi order's 'master.'

Looking over to Laraine, a brow rose in interest at the arrival of a new teacher. It seemed this would be a very interesting training session compared to others he had taught. In truth, a part of him was jealous. He wished he had such attention back when he was an new independent. Instead, he had sought his masters out one by one before being taken in by the jedi.

However, before he could introduce himself to the newcomer, news of Broka's request came to light and Vulpesen's tail hung in disappointment. It seemed education would have to wait. A part of him wondered if it would be best to stay where he was, or disguise himself as some exotic pet. In the end however, he figured that hiding himself would do more harm than good. After all, his intentions for the moment were honorable. And even if he wasn't here for Broka, refusing to a summons within his own home would breach the rules of hospitality in a way that he wasn't quite comfortable with. "I suppose I can come along."

Upon reaching the Hutt, Vulpesen would offer a small bow, a sign of respect though he was otherwise silent unless called upon, leaving the twins to do the talking.

Ki rose from her bow, waving her hands dismissively at the notion as the provided translator droid spoke,"Of course Great One, I have heard the exploits you and your kin have brought on the Galaxy in the past, and would in no means dream of even being in conflict with the Great Hutt families." she returned her hands to their clasped position hidden beneath her open sleeves,"My little Empire, is only so in name, due to it's history well before I came to rule, and is by no means as great a power as your own. But, I would be immensely interested in finding an ally in not only yourself, but the Hutts as a whole."

Her eyes caught glimpse of a small party entering the great antechamber as she continued,"As a representative of the former Outer Planets Alliance, I was privy to their dealings," she paused, taking a sadder tone in her voice,"but since the dissolution of said alliance, I have been left to my own devices of late." her demeanor perked back up without missing a beat,"I would be more than happy to swap histories and future business ventures, your Excellence, if you'll have me. But, I believe your Courtiers have more of an insight as to my being here." Ki smiled, nodding in the twin's direction.

The Empress in front of him explained the situation of this Sakura Empire. This definitely seemed intriguing to invest in. To have an empire that could thank him for its growth was certainly an interesting and welcomed prospect. However, before he could respond, the twins arrived to his summons with a few others behind them. A man in robes, a woman in a hover chair he had never seen before came up to his audience. The robed man bowed, which Broka acknowledged, while the woman in the hover chair, now that she was closer, had the look of a Jedi.

"<Indeed, Empress. I take it you two are also here to possibly instruct these two as well?>", he says as he gestures at the twins, "<Three potential instructors come here to teach these two a means of defending themselves. What is expected from each one's teachings? What is there to assure you will not take these valuable members of my court for your own gains. I have been getting reports of various people thinking of "rescuing" them, and I would like assurance that any of you will not do the same but just be more polite about it. This Empress here has made a good first impression for you other two to compete with for this opportunity, and she certainly seems to not want to take the twins away from what I see now. So, who are you two who have come before me? Can I expect such things from you two?>"

He then sat back. The colossal Hutt's eyes squinting as he analyzed the two newcomers to his audience. He also kept eyeing the Empress to make sure his first readings of her remained accurate. If the twins choose an effective trainer who could train them without an ethics lesson, then Broka would have no problem. However, the Empress continued his interest as at least she presented some opportunities for his operations whether she gets this job or not.

Hearing Broka's apprehensions, Vulpesen couldn't help but grin. Freeing slaves what what he did best. Taking servants from their masters was, in the eyes of many, his most apt job description. Still, he was not here for liberation, but education. "As miss Laraine says, the twins seem content with this arrangement as your employees. I am Vulpesen Espadus Torrevaso, Valde of the Vitae Alliance, and Archwilder of the Veran Wilders." He spoke clearly, letting the training of his advisors take over as he slipped into his more diplomatic persona. "Its true I champion freedom, and to be frank, the Hutts and my order have butted heads in the past over this tenet of our code. But freedom includes the freedom to make one's own choices. If they choose you then you'll have no trouble from me. Before all, I champion life and teaching the twins my arts may help to preserve their lives and those close to them." With his last few words, Vulpesen gave a slight nod in Broka's direction. It had been a while since he'd last dealt with them, but he was sure that Hutts could understand the idea of mutual benefit. "At the very least, you have my promise that I will not betray your hospitality while I have it."

Willow and Ivy held their tongues. Broka the Hutt Broka the Hutt didn't address them at all as they had arrived at his summons, instead they bore witness as he questioned those that had answered their call. So they remained silent as they watched. Indeed the Hutt had been keeping a close eye on them and was aware of everything that they had been doing or seeking. Although the twins had gained some of his trust which allowed them some freedoms, there was still a long way for them to go.

Kimiko Taiyou Kimiko Taiyou , Laraine Laraine and Vulpesen Vulpesen have all seemed to say the right things, all trying to assure Broka that Willow and Ivy weren't going to be removed from his Court. Yet it seemed as though they still had to almost bargain or pay for the right to teach the twins. They had chosen right when they hired Vyn Daldoure Vyn Daldoure as their personal bodyguard. Broka approved of their choice and there had been no regrets for it. Hopefully he could trust the twins in this decision too.

All that they could do was wait and see....
