Doublebladed lightsaber construction (please help)

I want to create my personal lightsaber.

It's a Doublebladed saber with purple blades that detaches in the center into twin one handed sabers.

Main problem I'm having is dimensions and Crystal types to use

Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Purple blades use purple crystals obviously, but if you want a specific (and possibly rare) named crystal then go for Hurrikaine Crystals, which were used by Mace Windu.

As for dimensions, well it depends on your body size. My guess would be the length of your forearm for the hilt (which consequently is under 1/5 of your height), if you're looking for a dual-bladed one.

So far it has. But I suck at math and Ryker is still a short little brat. At 12 yrs old he's only 4'11" tall.

I'd hazard a guess at 30cm for the hilt. When I was Yoda's species my single blade hilt was 14cm, so just over double that would be a sure guess.

You've been a load of help so far. And I only have one more question....Is It possible to buy Cortosis? I don't need much at all for what I want to do?

If someone else has done a dev thread for cortosis and you have written confirmation of you buying it from them (say, a post in the marketplace), then you can use it for your own submissions providing you link their dev thread and the post you exchanged the cortosis in.

Cool. I can do that. And I'm able to get Beskar easily enough seeing as my mother is a mandalorian.

If I constructed the saber hilt casing from a Beskar/Cortosis blend do you think the Cortosis would affect my own blade???

Keep the insides standard metal and have the casing/shell Cortosis and yeah, aslong as the Cortosis doesn't touch the blade you're fine. I'm assuming you want the Cortosis/Beskar blend to keep it from being sliced in two. Having it on the outside will still prevent that, and the inside won't be affected.
