Dr. Cage Freeland III

Hello everyone. I'm new here, though not new to Star Wars role play. This is my first character, he's very much still a work in progress, as most characters are. I'm open to any comments or advice.

NAME: Dr. Cage Freeland III
FACTION: Currently not part of a faction, but not against joining one.
RANK: Doctor
OCCUPATION: Independent assassin, independent doctor
SPECIES: Human
AGE: 36
SEX: Male
HEIGHT: 6’1’’
WEIGHT: 200 lbs
EYES: Brown
HAIR: Brown
SKIN: Pale
FORCE SENSITIVE: No
HOME: His ship (The Avant-Garde)
FROM: Corusant

STRENGTHS:

Doctor: Very proficient with medicine and battlefield surgeries. He also uses his medical knowledge for torture (for information) and to synthesise poisons.

Intelligent and highly educated: Besides being a fully trained medical doctor, Cage is extremely well read, especially in the sciences. He keeps a fully stocked library on-board The Avant-Garde, along with a lab, and medical unit.

Independently Wealthy: Besides the good money he makes as a wandering doctor and assassin, Cage inherited a significant amount of money from his estranged family on Corusant before leaving to study medicine, never to return.

Bullseye: Cage is a skilled shot. Because he finds hand to hand combat distasteful and barbaric, he learned to shoot at a young age as his only form of defence.

WEAKNESSES:

Psychopath (Not a serial killer): Cage is antisocial, lacks empathy and remorse, can be overly bold, and is egotistical. Because he rarely feels anxious, he’s a thrill seeker which frequently gets him into needlessly dangerous situations, many of which he is lucky to have survived. Though he has learned to fake being “normal” and even charming on occasion, other times, when he’s not paying attention, his mannerisms can be chilling and very off-putting to others.

Too posh for his own good: Cage grew up in luxury with a silver spoon firmly planted in his mouth. He looks down on the poor and the less fortunate. He also has expensive tastes and because of this, he is not one to “rough it”. He is easily irritated and angered when things are not up to his high standards.

Not the face: As skilled as Cage is with blasters, poisons, and combat of the mind, he is just as unskilled when it comes to close-quarters, hand to hand combat. Finding such combat barbaric and below him, he barely knows how to throw a punch and certainly can’t take one.

BIOGRAPHY: Not a lot is known publicly about Cage, and both he and his family like to keep it that way. He was the first born of an old moneyed family on Corusant. His family knew he was different from an early age and because of that, they treated him differently. He was ostracised, left up to his own devices for most of his life. He wasn’t brought into public very often and instead was tutored at home. He didn’t mind the separation from the world and his family, always much happier alone in the study or his room than with other people. At 16 he was strongly encouraged by his family to leave home and just so he would agree, they gave him his share of the inheritance early.

An intelligent and accomplished student, Cage decided to go to medical school. He wasn’t interested in becoming a doctor because he wanted to help people, he did it because it offered a sufficient challenge – treating people was just a game. He graduated early, and at the top of his class. It wasn’t long before the thrill of saving people’s lives lost some of its edge, however. So, paying no mind to the Hippocratic oath, he decided to be the arbiter of life and death, not just by saving people’s lives, but also taking them. This power over life and death makes him feel like a god, and is the ultimate thrill.

Now he traverses the galaxy on his customised luxury yacht looking for work, either saving lives, or taking them, and most of all, looking for excitement.

SHIP: The Avant-Garde -- A customised luxury yacht reminiscent of the old J-type 327 Nubian royal star-ship with a middling level of armour and armament.
