BIOGRAPHY:
Carrigan's life before before the Naval Academy wasn't much, a more than wealthy upbringing as the son of a doctor and hospital administrator on the planet of x, he rarely faced troubles beyond the occasional bully, and the last minute essay. It was a good life, one set up for him to follow in the family footsteps, of course, he took a little different path. While Carrigan still wanted to join the family trade of being an M.D., he also wanted to see the galaxy, so he joined the Navy of the Republic. Although he lost favor with his father at first, eventually they came to accept his career.
At the academy, he graduated third in his class, and he would have done better had he not spent one too many nights out drinking with his mates. Once through the academy he went off to medical school to finish his specialization as a doctor, and after a few years, although it didn't feel like so to Carrigan, he was onboard a frigate as its junior medical officer. It was on that frigate that he experienced is first real contact with combat, and it was an unpleasant one. After that, he learned some of the realities of being a doctor, but it didn't halt his dream of being a Navy doctor, only bolstered it. When he saw his next run in with conflict, he was a little less wide eyed, and little better prepared. As he was the next, and the next, and the next. Eventually he transferred to another ship, then to another, a brief spurt of shore duty, a promotion here and there, and eventually, he was the chief medical officer of a heavy cruiser. Carrigan had picked up a wife, and child on the way, who followed him at every installation and vessel he was assigned to. It was then, at the rank of commander, Carrigan's naval career ended. The fall of the Republic was protracted, and slow, but it felt abrupt to him. It wasn't long before the navy began to split up into factions, loyal to former admirals and other Republic leaders. Carrigan decided it was time to go into private practice, and resigned his commission.
Carrigan decided to take himself, and his wife and child, out of the now unstable Republic space, into the territory of the Silver Jedi Order, taking a liking to their peaceful mission and their kind attitude to those who came from the Republic. He and his family settled on the planet Tion, setting up his own private practice. There, he raised his son, worked in his profession, and became part of a community. Once he had grown up, his son Leonard Carrigan, went off to university to become a doctor like his father, but as a interplanetary aid giver. Carrigan enjoyed the few years he had with his wife before she passed, peacefully within her sleep. From then on Carrigan became more sour and closed off as he lived alone. He lost his practice once the Silver Jedi Order fell due to the invasion by the Sith Empire, as chaos ensued and organized crime rose on his world. With not much left to stay, and Sith invasion a high possibility, Carrigan left, taking what little savings he had left. Now he travels the galaxy, trying to find a new place for himself.
