SPECIAL FEATURES
- Can absorb energy attacks, including Force-based assaults
- Contains a trapped Dark Side demon which can defend the wearer
- Absorbs Energy Attacks: The talisman can absorb energy attacks directed against the wearer.
- Force Resistant: The absorption of energy includes Force-based assaults. For example, if someone were to attack the wearer with Force lightning, it would absorb the lightning, leaving the wearer unharmed.
- Djinni in a Lamp: This particular talisman recently absorbed a Dark Side demon. The demon is now trapped inside and can be used to defend the wearer, as it will lash out against anything that attacks them.
- Sith Artifact: Not only does it have an implicit Dark Side aura, the very concept of this device is pretty gruesome. It is essentially vampiric and malevolent in nature, feeding on energy dispelled through violence, or if no violence is done against it, it will feed on the souls of living beings.
- Requires Energy Transfusion: The talisman must be regularly fed energy. If it can't get what it needs by absorbing attacks, it will start to cannibalize its contents (the demon inside will be slowly consumed for energy), and once that is all gone, it will feed on whoever wears it. If no one is wearing it, it will cease to be a talisman (effectively "dying") and become just a regular piece of cheap jewelry. Luckily, it will take quite some time before it gets to such a point of desperation.
- Force Voids: If the talisman is placed in an area devoid of the Force, it will not function.
- Light of the Force: Exposure to Force Light will not destroy the talisman, but it cannot deflect it, and the demon living within may be damaged or even destroyed by the Light.
This dragon-shaped pendant looks very unassuming at first glance. While it does have an interesting design, anyone who knows their gems will know that the ones featured here are common and not worth much. The ignorant would assume this is just a cheap piece of jewelry. But it is in fact a shield talisman, a powerful Sith amulet which can absorb all forms of energy based attacks directed against it, including Force-based assaults.
The creator of this talisman is unknown, presumably a Sith who lived within the past couple centuries. Nimdok discovered it while raiding an ancient Sith tomb on Boz Pity. Reluctant to use it himself, he kept it hidden among his belongings. During his fateful trip to Lao-mon, Tammuz Hoole searched Nimdok's luggage and discovered the talisman. Touching it gave Tammuz an unclear vision of the future, motivating him to steal the talisman. Shortly after Nimdok left the planet, Tammuz used the talisman to defend himself against a Dark Side demon conjured up by Adrian Vandiir to destroy the stolen datachip. After absorbing the demon's attacks, the talisman absorbed the demon itself, entrapping it within the talisman and enslaving it to the wearer.
After failing to locate the missing talisman and assuming it was lost forever, Nimdok was sent a package containing the now-inhabited talisman and a note from Tammuz explaining what had occurred. Tammuz also advised Nimdok to give it to Miri, as the talisman would protect her from other Force Users. Though he has many reservations about letting such a device anywhere near his daughter, Nimdok has begun to let her wear it.
