The planet of Tatooine wasn't one Jonyna visited very often, even back during her Rebellion days. Despite it's historical significance as the birthplace of the Skywalker Dynasty, it was still a pretty barren rock that didn't truly hold much of value.

Still, every so often, the jedi were called to help there.

The Reaper came down, settling into the sand as Jonyna climbed down the ramp, having Dice unload a pair of Speeder Bikes to get them there quicker. "Report said there's a pack of Krayt Dragons that are Terrorizing a local settlement, and are dangerously close to encroaching on Mos Shuuta." Jonyna read off her holo-comm, letting out a snort. "Mos Shuuta. That's a throwback. That's where Phoenix Squadron started..."

Speeder bikes.

Aris was full on nerding out over them much like Valery Noble did. His love for speeders, their designs, their structure, it all came from her after all. While he still didn't like piloting ships, there was something about speeders that had him all smiles and joy. If not for how his mind worked, he would've completely zoned out what Jonyna was saying.

But his mind was just different, and he nodded his head. "Krayt Dragons are usually solitary. Do we think there's something behind this pack? Or just a family?"

"There could be. I know the Tuskens have a pretty rough time with territorial disputes, but usually they keep to themselves..." She considers, thinking out loud. "...could also be a rogue Hutt, trying to use it as cover for something more sinister." She'd dealt with the Hutts before, but she doubted Teemo would ever stoop to that level.

Or maybe he would. He was a bit of an ass.

"Only one way to find out though." She nodded to her padawan. "Ready to rev it up?" She climbed onto her Cheetah, revving the throttle.

Rev it up rev it up.

Aris was practically launched onto his speeder with how quick he mounted it, immediately hitting the throttle with quite the grin. It was rare for him to show emotion more than a little tick of his face, but right now, he looked like the fifteen year old he was about to go max speed on a speeder. Which, well, was incredibly accurate. The moment they set off? Full throttle.

Valery Noble 's gremlin son was very much on display.

What a goblin.

Jonyna rolled her eyes, racing after him towards their destination. Dice had pre-programed their destination into the in-built systems of the bikes, so she wasn't exactly worried about getting lost. Still, she had very little idea of how Dice did that. She hoped that Aris would learn his ways around tech from his peers, because she certainly wasn't going to teach him...

Soon, the twin suns slowly began to shine on a city in the distance, and a large canyon off to the west of it. Jonyna frowned, speaking into the comm of the speeder. "First to the city. I wanna get some intel on what's been happening first hand. You're right, this seems fishy."

Aris knew well enough how to work a gps. Enough to turn it off and let him have full control as he very much went for speed. His nature, his mind, it made it easy for him to react and move as he needed to just stay with Jonyna. He was absolutely having fun, probably too much all things considered, but as his Master's voice came through the com he nodded once and made sure he was at least heading to the city.

"Understood."

And he'd meet her there, just outside the town.

Jonyna sighed as she watched the boy take off. Recklessness was all too familiar to her, as was confidence. She couldn't blame the boy for having it, but she needed to make sure he didn't get in over his head. Even if he was seemingly sturdy, Jonyna would flinch at the thought of explaining to Valery Noble that her son got hurt, or worse.

As they pulled into Mos Shuuta, Jonyna eyed the seemingly innocuous city around them. If one thing hadn't changed in 900 years, it was the fact that cities like this were still hives of scum and villiany. She certainly didn't want to be jumped by some bounty hunter, or worse, a sith.

Her bike came to a halt, the Cathar eyeing around to see where her padawan had gotten off to.

Aris came to a half just beside Jonyna. From full speed. He full on turn drifted to settle beside her, using his foot to stop the momentum of the speeder dead as he casually dismounted. The grin was still plastered on his face, bright as ever. The need for speed was strong with this one. "So, where we heading first? What sort of information are we hunting to get?"

Jonyna watched the display of speed, rolling her eyes. She was at least glad to see the boy having fun. Seeing a smile on his face was something she saw as a welcome change from his usual stoic personally. Note to self, go racing with him sometime.

"We'll start with the local cantina. If there's one thing I learned from my days as a bounty hunter, the local watering hole is where you'll find out more than anywhere else. Come on, let's figure out what's going on. You're tall enough to pretend to be old enough to drink. Just don't actually order anything." Jonyna smirked, gesturing him to follow. Her eyes wandered as they walked the streets, seeming to scan anything ahead of them. "Whenever you're out in the Outer Rim, keep an eye out. Places like this are a hub for bounty hunters and rogues who would happily take your head if it fetched a good price."

"I don't think it'd work on me anyway."

It was something he'd eventually have to face up with, whether things like alcohol or poisons could even affect him. But that was neither here nor there. He gave Jonyna a nod as he followed her into the cantina, letting his eyes drift about. There were lots of people, all manner of people at that. Music, drinking, cheers and secret discussions. He could hear it all, of course.

Including the whispers about the pair of Jedi walking in.

The murmurs from locals permeated the air as Jonyna led them to the front of the bar, taking a seat next to a Dug that seemed to eye up the two of them.

<Don't see folks like you often.>

Jonyna paused, looking to the Dug with a smirk. <Don't see ugly motherfuckers like you often.> Jonyna shot back in Huttese. <You got any word on what's going on with those dragons?>

<HA! You wish I'd tell you that.>

Jonyna rolled her eyes, looking to Aris. "Not a lot of folks speak Basic around here, it seems. You speak any Huttese?"

Aris stared somewhat as Jonyna spoke with the other man. No, he did not speak huttesse. And suddenly, he realized just how little basic was actually being spoken here. There were conversations he could pick up with ease, but, they weren't anything he could actually understand. It wasn't just Huttesse, either. His brow furrowed after a moment.

He was going to need to learn more languages. He should be able to with ease, considering how he learned.

"Not yet."

Jonyna just smiled at nodded at him. "We'll put it on the list. I'm rather good at teaching languages. Lesson for later in your career, when you leave the Core worlds, the less Basic gets spoken. Best you learn a few of the trade languages as well. I had to."

It was a hard lesson she had to learn back during her early days as a bounty hunter. Learning the languages of those in the outer rim was a necessary skill to keep up, and she wanted to make sure her padawan knew that as well. "Just try and keep up. You'll pick up on words and stuff as we go, okay?"

Aris nodded once. He'd learned a couple different languages, but trade wasn't one he'd even thought of. Shyyyrak, Droid, Sign, Epicanthic. He'd learned a lot of what was useful home and in the Temple. Huttesse would certainly be the next step. His gaze didn't linger on his Master for much longer though. He glanced about, catching sight of at least one small party eyeing them up.

Glaring at them, even.

His voice lowered as he followed after Jonyna. "We're being watched."
