DragonsFlame's New Direction

People have been asking me questions about the new way I've been playing @Joshua DragonsFlame, since returning to the board. Figured since it happens quite often, I'd try and address what I'm doing with him here. Think of this as a nice Q&A and a preview of what I'm going to be working on in the many months I am hoping to stay here as part of my return. If you have any SERIOUS questions that feel could be added, feel free to shoot suggestions and I'll add them to the list. I look forward to giving you guys a glimpse at the newest chapter I am writing for a character I've had here for a very long time, who I hope this will allow to evolve and develop in front of your very eyes.

1) What side is DragonsFlame on?

Ession Reformation, but he's still a Jedi Master. He is taking part in the Army Of Light campaign between the Reformation and The Republic, in hopes of taking the Sith down. He will follow the Reformation even after the Army Of Light is disbanded, until there is no longer a reason for him to work with them.

2) I thought DragonsFlame hated war and wanted nothing to do with it? How about them apples, Mr. Semi Pacifist?

Still applies. But he's realized at this point that this is the only option. He's still part pacifist... Just doing what's necessary to survive. He hates every bit of it, but knows that until a better option comes along, this is all that's left. Starvation will eventually make a vegetarian eat the pigs flocking around him.

3) Why is his behavior different? He's not acting like a Jedi!

It's true, his attitude has changed. While the bare basics of his personality, the humility, the compassion and the witty sides of him, are still there.. I've added little things that signify that he is no longer following the Jedi Code that he had originally sworn to. As Graxin had put it IC, with the Jedi Order the way it is, and all the different orders with different codes in the galaxy now, the Jedi Code has become moot and null, due to how stretched and varied it has become. Since he left the Republic's JO a long time ago, and before now has been living his life in secrecy away from the galaxy at large, he's changed, isn't following the same tenants he used to, and has become... Well, human. If this changes in future, we'll just see. But for now, I've humanized him. Allowed him to feel emotions, love, hate and generally be a normal human being for the first time in his life. His new behaviors are a reflection of this, although many of his basic behaviors and personality traits are still influenced by the fact that he was a member of the Jedi Order for almost his entire life.

4) Will he ever turn to the Dark Side?

In a way, yes and no. There is a story arc I am working on with him currently, where I am actually looking for a Dark Jedi or Sith willing to teach him the way of the dark side. The reason? It's a risky project, one that if it fails, could very well lead to him becoming a "Sith" of sorts. That's where the "No" comes in though. No matter what happens, the character Joshua DragonsFlame is NOT built to join a Sith Faction. That means no One Sith, or anything else. If he does go "Sith", which I will not rule out, he will fight whoever is in his way, regardless of alignment. As for plans... He has decided to undergo an experiment that could very well keep him from ever turning to the dark side, along with being capable of learning the tools of the dark side. It is; as I said, an incredibly risky endeavor that will test his resolve and his loyalty to the light, and push him to the absolute limits. If he can succeed, he will be capable of using the dark side without, in most cases, being corrupted by it. But while that's a nice bonus, that isn't the end game of the plan. He will hate it more than anything he has ever hated, he will become ICly impossible to corrupt to the dark side unless it is 100% by choice.

You might be asking yourself... How? ICly, how does this plan work? It's a simple matter of human psychology. If you were forced to spend six months cleaning alligator poopoo, and then some shady guy in a black cloak tries to get you to leave your cushy office job to take a job cleaning gator poo, whats gonna happen? Sure, the pay might be slightly better, but you're gonna remember hating cleaning gator doo doo more than life itself and refuse no matter what. That's what Joshua will try to accomplish. Forcing himself to learn and use the dark side, no matter how much he hates it, until everytime there's an attempt to corrupt him, either via the powers he's using, or via a Sith, all he will remember is the self torture and how much he hated using the dark side. And he'll ask himself... Why the kark would he want to spend the rest of his life using it every single day? Boom. Uncorruptible. Unbreakable resolve. Baptism by fire.

Of course, there's a chance for this to fail. If he finds he doesn't hate the dark side, and he is corrupted... Well, he'll accept that. If he feels that's the fate the Force has chosen for him, he will accept that. It's a very risky strategy, but with him no longer being a part of the Order, and the Ession Reformation's head honchos being okay with the plan, this is the best time to pull off a risky endeavor like this one without consequences that are outside the obvious ones that are from his own decisions. A Jedi having access to a whole new world of knowledge of the Force, without throwing away everything he stands for. That's what he wants to be. Of course, that doesn't mean he doesn't want to continue learning about other aspects of the Force. There are other parts of the Force he still wishes to learn, and I'd appreciate anyone willing to teach, whether light or dark.

5) Whatever happened to the Headbutt Of Chastity?

He grew up. He became human. What happens, happens. If he feels he's being put in something he doesn't want... Well, he's got the Head, Hands, Feet and Elbows Of Chastity for that.

6) Dude! What's with the dragon?

Well, back in August 2013, a Padawan Joshua DragonsFlame, with permission given from higher ups, would come into possession of a dragon egg, one which I said I wouldn't hatch until he was ready to take care of one. This would come just a few months before he became Grandmaster, where the dragon egg was supposed to hatch during a training thread with the at the time Jedi Masters former Padawan, Marek S'hadar. Of course, since Marek stopped posting, the hatching in the thread was timeskipped, and little John would tag along with the Jedi Master wherever he went, whether hiding in his robes, or sitting on his shoulder, as he did many times during Council meetings.

Guess what? Little John grew up! A wyvern-sized John would make an appearance in my one off thread with [member="Vulpesen"] and [member="Alexandra Lianne Feanor"] during my absence, indicating a real time growth of the little dragon. As many months have passed, he has grown into a fully grown adult dragon, who happily lived in hiding with Josh. Of course, he did try to have the dragon go back to his own kind at the behest of Aleidis Ijet, once it grew up, but the dragon didn't get along with it's own kind, and refused to leave Joshua once it realized this. With that in mind, Josh's new home in Naboo was designed with John in mind. With him now part of the Ession Reformation, John will accompany him where applicable, though he will not be involved in direct combat until an NPC submission has been built for him.

7) Will DragonsFlame ever return to the Jedi Order (Republic)?

Will he ever? YES! It's simply a matter of WHEN. At the moment, the status of the Republic's Jedi Order heavily disagrees with his tenants and morals, and has for quite some time, thus was the reason for him leaving. If there ever comes a day where they go back to the way they were before... Yes, Joshua DragonsFlame will return to the Jedi Order. For now, he's happy with the Ession Reformation, and their more freeform version of the Jedi in the meantime. While he does not serve it like a cult, and generally does his own thing, it's a home to him right now when he has no other.

8) Does Josh still have Xardus's Holocron?

Absolutely he does, [member="Gherron Vael"]. We can plot that out whenever you like via Skype.

9) Can we thread/plot?

Of course! Just drop me a line via PM or Skype and we can do plotz.

Nice to have a little background on the new Josh. One question though, would he still be in possession on Xardus's holocron? I ask because i've been planning that once he gets his memories back, he will attempt to find Josh and apologize for attacking him back when he was controlled by Sadrion, and after seeing the holocron, may take a lighter direction on the force. Cobalt

And Everything is Blue, like him.
[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"]

I know. Was a joke not actually directed at you...

*Looks at name*

Okay, maybe it should've been directed at you a tiny bit :D

[member="Mordecai Zambrano"],

Well if we would finish the thread then maybe you could have a partner/Friend who also had a dragon since we both wanted one.

[member="Joshua DragonsFlame"], You may have come up with the name, but my alt hunted for one before you were on site. ;)
