Drake Class Elite Fighter
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
[*]Defenses: High
[*]Squadron Count: Low: 8
[*]Maneuverability Rating: Average
[*]Speed Rating: Average
[*]Hyperdrive Class: 1
[*]STANDARD FEATURES
ADVANCED SYSTEMS
Strengths:
In many ways the ship eventually launched was an upgraded, rarer version of the Firebird, using the latter’s armament but increasing its defences. Several useful gadgets also helped, giving the ship better countermeasures and shields. The powerplant of the fighter was tweaked slightly to include the AE orbital engine but was otherwise untouched giving the fighter good performance but not above the average expected.
The Drake is a tough, quite well armed fighter able to take on most enemy attack craft equally. Where it lacks is against very heavily armoured targets or very much faster enemy fighters. For the latter though if it does manage to get a hit it will likely be able to crush them very quickly.

- Engine boost (one round/post speed to Extreme, manoeuvre to Very Low) OR vice versa, cannot be used on consecutive rounds/posts.
Strengths:
- Phrikked. With a thin plating of Phrik and heavy shields, the Drake can take a lot of punishment without being destroyed or seriously damaged.
- Solid. The Drake is a good all-around fighter, with no glaring weaknesses, and a couple of strengths.
- Gadgets. With some advanced gear purchased from AE the Drake can counter exotic enemy weapons and get to the battle quicker.
- Speed. The Drake is decidedly average on speed, barring use of its boost engines. Faster ships can stay out of its firing arcs by using superior speed and agility.
- Firepower. The Drakes weapons are only designed to take on other attack craft. Even small corvettes are difficult targets for the weapons mounted.
- Number. With only 8 ships in a squadron and a limited production run the Drake will never be the mainstay of a fleet’s fighters, rather serving as elite squadrons.
