Drawing Lines

Location: Grungeon Block, The Works
Objective: Meet with Cortanni Cartel leaders

Jax sat in the factory's main office. He could see the whole factory from the shattered windows. Five Muerto enforcers were scattered about the room. They all were augmented with some forms of cybernetics. An arm here, a leg there. Two of his men were armed with RT-97C Heavy Blaster Rifles. An older weapon but it did the trick. Two canine droids rested at his side head's swiveling searching for the cartel members. He took a swig of some homemade Jet Juice and thought to himself," Can't wait to get eyes on these people." They were nothing short of impressive from the stories he heard.

Coruscant - The Works
Mara Thawne

The Coratanni Captain of Coruscant stepped slowly out of her speeder, foot falling onto the platform as she pulled back the hood of her cloak. Bright purple eyes searched the buildings around them, lips thinning as her gaze drew towards the factory directly in front of them. A small smile showed on her features for just a brief moment, her finger flicked, and then the door behind her fell shut.

From the other side of the speeder drew four members of one of Coratanni's Execution Squads, each of them wearing that oddly shifting armor.

They moved around Mara like hawks, swooping into formation so that she wasn't exposed from any angle. An amused expression floated across her features, and then without any hesitation she moved forward. Her movements were liquid, every step as fluid as the flow of a river. As the small group made their way towards the factory none of them seemed overly concerned, their demeanor relaxed and their body language screaming of an almost apathetic nature.

One of the Executioners stepped out ahead of them, pushing open the factory door.

This meeting would prove to be interesting one. One she looked forward to than most. As they stepped into the factory Mara immediately spotted their host, the man whom she assumed had called them here. Without any show of hesitation the Coratanni Captain moved towards the office, ignoring the Muerto's enforcers scattered about the room.

She wasn't here to fight, but to talk.

Jax smiled as he watched the girl approach. She exuded power, through the way she moved, her attitude. Oh he was going to like this one. He watched her guards in formation around her like a pack of well trained dogs. His raggedy crew looked more like wild dogs with there aloof attitudes and and worn apparel. You can take the men out of 1313, but you can't take 1313 out of the men he thought to himself. "Boys!! The Cartel princessa graces you with her appearance. Why don't you give her a bow." he said, half joking. The Muertos looked at eachother, used to Jax's antics, and gave a half hearted bow. He flashed his trademark sideways smile and greeted Mara. "Hi, I'm Jax Vandal pleased to make your acquaintance." He said with false eloquence.

Mara Thawne

She paid no attention to the others, they were less than nothing in her eyes.

Out of most of her siblings Mara had always been the most personable, or one of the most personable anyway. Felix might have had her beat on that account. Either way, being called the 'princess' of the Cartel amused her slightly. She would hardly give the title to herself, mostly because it had certain...fragile connotations to it. And she was anything but fragile.

"Mara." There was no need to give her last name, the man either already knew it or didn't, either way she didn't care. This wasn't about personality, this wasn't about anything else but business. Though of course that didn't mean she wasn't going to play nice. She grasped the back of a rickety chair, pulling it back and sitting herself down with gentle grace. A small smile touched her lips, and in the same even tone she addressed Jax. "I understand we have something to speak about."

This would be fun.

"We do. We want to know where on Coruscant you lay claim exactly. Look, obviously The Muertos can't compete with the Coratanni Cortel, but we would like to attempt building some relations. We don't want to step on any toes with the ops we're running, but we need to keep the lights on as I'm sure you understand. I also wanted to see if you would be open to selling us some weapons and gear. We got costumers, and everyday they want crazier and crazier kark Ive never even heard of. My lieutenants wanted me to extend our services to you should you ever be in a pinch for whatever reasons, and the super troopers over there", He pointed at her men with his bottle," -are MIA." He sat back in his cheer and drank the last dregs of his liquor.

She smiled, it was lovely getting straight to business.

"I think we can make a deal." The Coratanni Cartel did control a significatly large portion of the Underworld, but more than that they also had legitimate businesses all over the planet. They were an expansive syndicate, and now she saw an opportunity to expand that even further. "Muertos works in the dealing of arms, mercenaries, illegal technology, yes?"

She had done her research of course. "The Cartel does none of those things on this world."

Coratanni's dealings on Coruscant dealt mainly in illegal pharmaceuticals, spice, and several other things. Big businesses that saw a massive amount of cash flow. They had soldiers, The Executioners and others of course, but they weren't mercenaries. Nor where they interested in becoming anything like it. They dabbled in cybernetics and the creation of technologies, but it was hardly the majority of income for them on Coruscant. That was more in the outer rim.

"So let's make a deal." She said with a smile. "Coratanni won't object to you running your business within our territories, we provide you with more advanced weaponry and technologies, and we'll even show you our smuggling routes onto Coruscant."

She smiled. "In return, Muertos simple offers it's services to us when they are required. And of course, promises not to create any...trouble within our territories."

It was essentially exactly what Jax had asked for. He would get to operate within the Underworld, gain Coratanni's assistance, and all his organization would have to do in return was what they were best at.

Jax smirked turned to a smile. "I think this is the start of something great. Also I should let you know we are planning some offworld expansions. I'd like to offer you one more clause. Any territory you help us gain, we will offer you a substantial piece of. If you'd like to work on taking a station, outpost, or any key locations with us give me a call." He extended his hand to shake.

"That will do just fine." Mara said with an easy smile, extending her hand to shake Jax's.

She was fine with ambition, the galaxy was a big place, though she would offer him a warning.

"Coratanni already operates on dozens of different worlds." There was no threat to her tone, she was simply informing him. "I would have you warn us when you're about to make a move. Otherwise, you have our full support in any expansion."

Mara smiled again.

There was money to be made, and that was all that mattered.

Jax's crew began packing up, sensing he was ready to leave. The gang walked towards the exit, Jax's metal leg clanking against the metal stairs of the factory with a carefree jaunt. When he got to the door, being the last one out, he turned towards the office and shouted up at Mara, "I'm sure I'll be seeing you very soon princessa."
