----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

STRENGTHS:

With Age Comes Experience: Drekarys is one of the most senior members of the Bryn'adûl, and his prowess within the Force reflect it.

Medically Minded: Study of the Bryn'adûl and the many species that fight for them is an often neglected subject. However, Drekarys' knowledge of said species' anatomy is unparalleled, bar the Creator himself.

Life Through Violence: Drekarys' status as a Force Wielder, Inventor, and one of the more scientifically knowledgeable should not make him appear weak, for he has fought for everything he has had with quarterstaff or khopesh in hand, so much so that they act as an extension of his body.

WEAKNESSES:
Beastless: There is often an underlying deficiency, a flaw if you would, in everything, be it organic or mechanic, sentient or non-sentient. This flaw comes in the lack of any control over the beasts that the other Force Sensitives of the Draelvasier seem to find as a birthright.

Pompous Priest: With great knowledge and power comes great pride, particularly to an Aeravalin, the most arrogant of the Draelvasier. Drekarys is no exception to this, and excels at being prideful of his every success, and secretive of his every failure.

Heartless Bastard: Age is a curse, a curse that withers the soul when it comes without change. For Drekarys, this change comes in his lack of a mate. While those at half his age would have found their mate during the appropriate events, Drekarys has turned himself away from the participation in such events, for each time their comes a treasure chest of gems but not a single gem of fine quality for him to find fulfilment in.

Regretlessly Ruthless: To call Drekarys a sour old prune would not be far from the truth, as he shares no care for the personal gains or emotions of others, only in furthering his own interests, and the interests of the Bryn'adûl.

SPECIES STRENGTHS:
Formidable Form: The Draelvasier overall as a species can be considered tough. The Draelvasier have increased bone and skin density and additionally have supplementary organs to increase stamina and durability.

Biology: Draelvasier biology increases the density of their bones and reinforces the integrity of the varying bone structures.

Cold as Ice: The Aeravalin are typically the polar opposite of the Baedurin, having a greater resistance to the cold.

Scientific: The Aeravalin have scientific minds, they are designers of gadgets and upgrades of weaponry, putting the industrious minds of the Baedurin and the scavenger like nature of the Sraelvun.

SPECIES WEAKNESSES:
Bigger Target: Stealth isn’t quite so easily achieved by the Draelvasier, their bodies are heavy and weighted, powerful. But this also means that they can be heard or seen coming from miles away.

Temper: Though they care little for the opinions of other species, within Social environments Draelvasier can quickly turn to anger when criticised. This is also partially due to Draelvasier culture, as weakness can often mean death. Thusly, quick tempers are born of both pride and anxiety.

Infrared Vision: Draelvasier have infrared vision, seeing through heat. This can be a problem with explosives in combat, as high exposures of heat will blind them temporarily.

Never Telekinetic: Even amongst those with force aptitude within the Draelvasier, telekinetic abilities appear to escape them no matter how hard they try.

Sink: Most Draelvasier would find swimming much more difficult than humans, requiring greater stamina and time.

APPEARANCE:

Drekarys Kel's head is adorned with two large mandibles, sharper than songsteel and as robust as phrik. His eyes are orbs that shine the most pure and rich of golds, accompanied by a second set behind the first. His carapace is coloured a wealthy mahogany, swirled with umber. This hermaphroditic demon of a humanoid stands at 10 feet 2 inches tall with a lanky frame, but not lacking in muscle mass. His terrifyingly proportioned limbs are adorned with long, sharp fingers on each hand. Behind his first set of white razors known commonly as teeth, there lies a second s set of even sharper teeth. He has come to name the first set of teeth his fangs due to their larger, elongated size while his second set have come to be known as his razors due to their size and quantity.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sometimes the Cosmic Force creates an anomaly of power in order to balance itself, an anomaly that lasts a hundred years and reshapes the very Galaxy. It is unpredictable and can act on a whim, from something as small as causing the extinction of a particular species of little-known insect to fathering a family to entertain it's emotionless presence. It needs not explain it's actions nor have a pattern to them. This is the story of one of the centillions of sentient beings created by the Cosmic Force.

In 848 ABY, an Aeravalin is born from the cloning vats of the Draelvasier. This Aeravalin is not like the others in its subspecies, however. Neigh, not like it's brethren Draelvasier. It is more ghastly, a nightmare given life in the corporeal plane. A practical shadow with four frontal fangs sharp enough to draw crimson blood from a glancing touch, reinforced by a second set of razors to rip flesh form bones.

Despite an initial reluctance to be in the presence of other Draelvasier, the Nightmare was educated amongst it's kin. Though his Force Sensitivity was not truly discovered until a half year after the rest of it's brethren, it came stronger than most of his peers. While his training first came into question when it became apparent he held no sway with the beasts, it was decided that he was better off trained to use the Force than to not know how to use it.

His life after education and training had been decided for him, and left very little to his own choice. He could not be made a Drone, he would be wasted there, he could not be a Brute as he was not of the right species, and he could not be a Shaman if he lacked the ability to control the Bryn'adûl beasts. So he was made a Zealot Shadow, for his nightmarish nature and preference to work alone, down to the point of lashing out at his brethren.

For the greater portion of his life he served as a Shadow, nothing truly exceptional and remaining unknown for the most part. In his free time, his eyes were absorbed by texts and tablets dedicated to the Force and it's many techniques. In the aftermath of battle, while the Legions drank in their victory and raised glasses to the fallen, Kel the Shadow cut into the corpses of the fallen with his dagger-like fingers and committed details to memory. While others of his kind thought of him as nothing more than a Shaman without a Skag, he surpassed their knowledge threefold.

The Quarterstaff and Khopesh grew to be favoured weapons of The Nightmare during his time as a Zealot Shadow, not for their lethality, no, his body was the greatest weapon he could possess. But he valued them for their utility, the Khopesh could pin a blade or weapon to the ground while he tore the wielder's throat out. The Quarterstaff could function as both weapon and a tool to parry incoming blows with greater reach and diversity, while being less cumbersome than a shield.

It is with these weapons in hand that Drekarys slaughtered opponents in both the gladiators arena, in defense of his honour and strength, or in the field of battle, in defense of his species and his nation. Through his major lack of attendance in celebrations, he earned the title of Outcast, for his appearance, his station, and his way of fighting he earned the moniker of The Nightmare. One should not be mistaken by his lack of notoriety as a Shadow, for his curse of being without beast allows him to wield the Force unlike any other combatant in his class. The shadows on the wall bow to him, and give themselves form to be his shield against the eyes of his enemies, a blanket to cover the bloodied and desecrated remains of his enemies, and a cape to flow for miles in his wake.

One would have to be mentally deluded to think his feats stop at the art of unseen murder and the manipulation of light. His prowess in the Force expands past the mediocre powers of Force Lightning and Force Augmentation, past such mundanities into the Grand Fields that are Life and Death. Where others see a pile of lifeless bodies, The Nightmare sees vessels for his will awaiting animation and direction. Where others see a dying warrior, Drekarys sees a soul losing itself to the Void, waiting for a guiding hand to lead it back to it's body. This is not to say he can prevent the inevitability of Death, or prolong life, for he simply directs the mindless dead and heals wounds through techniques long forgotten to the ticking hands of time.
