GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Dren-Beast
  • Origins: Al-Khālī: The Academy of the Dead
  • Other Locations: Various worlds it is seeded to for biological weapon attacks
  • Classification: Botanical
  • Average Growth Cycle: After bloodborne infection the spores push towards the bone marrow to rapidly multiply throughout the body within 48 hours after infection.
  • Viability: Oxygen heavy world with meat either animals or humanoids
  • Description: Near invisible to the eye at first, they are released from pods carried by other drengir that have been augmented with the darkside of the force and once inside the body begin to rapidly mutate it. With drengir matter growing in the muscle and cracking the bones as they overtake the nervous system of the body and use it like a meat puppet.

  • Toxicity: Highly infectious spores that transform the body.
  • Other Effects: Accelerated Symptoms: Prolonged exposure accelerates the rate of infection within the body exponentially.
  • Distinctions: Highly Infectious, microscopic
Strengths:
  • Collective: A twice formed mindset. The Drengir Root mind combines all of them in a group and the spores collective intelligence means they can act in unison and slowly learn. Giving the Dren-Beasts a steep learning curve when it comes to adding others to their root mind.
  • Domination: While not perfect, their corruptive mental attacks to combine and convert others to their service and to betray their friends delivering them to the Drengir is more dangerous spreading the wanting to feed more and more.
Weaknesses:
  • Force Nullification: Being a force being nullification fields harm them physically and mentally. Severing them form the root mind or making their ability to move under their own weight next to impossible.
  • Force Light: Being a darkside creature the lightside of the force is exceptionally powerful against the Drengir normally as mutated sithspawn creatures it does exponentially more damage to them.
  • Atmosphere: A big weakness of the drengir, vacuum prevents their bodies from healing as they need the oxygen to regrow body parts.
  • Progenitor: THe root mind is one of the most dangerous and what happens to the progenitor can attack and affect all of the children it has made. From being put to sleep to death if it is destroyed.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Designed and developed within the Academy of the Dead. The drengir experimentaation has seen it spliced and augmented both with science and the force. Bringing in some fo the more dangerous creatures from the reaches of the siths influence. Seras has pushed and developed it with the technobeasts... a means to spread the drengirs ifnluence among a population and make it so more and more could quickly be subdued. With the splicing of the technobeast nanites it would allow the drengir to become much more dangerous and able to spread across an entire planet and convert it into the root mind... into puppets that would willingly walk into the maws of the beasts or lure others.. or pilot ships to spread the othehr variants across the worlds like a plague. Seras would continue to work on refining it for years as they continued to use the academy and medical facility to produce biological weapons.
