- Intent: To create a drengir variant

- Links: Al-Khālī: The Academy of the Dead
- Name: Dren-Lacc
- Origins: Al-Khālī: The Academy of the Dead
- Other Locations: Various worlds it is seeded to for biological weapon attacks
- Classification: Botanical
- Average Growth Cycle: Fast to mature in a small handful of months it will be rooted but will grow and expand itself over the years
- Viability: Oxygen heavy world with meat either animals or humanoids
- Description: Corrupted, mutated and perverse. The drengir sarlacc hybrid is a nasty strain that was crafted to be sent to a planet and grow like the creatures. Expanding outwards and growing more drengir from it as a proto-progenitor that amplifies the root mind of other drengir. With sandy green flesh and leafs on it. Tendrils that range from small and able to grasp people to massive and made to drag meat into its massive maw of teeth. Resembling in other places a silan as the toothy mouths of the drengir go after anything
- Average Height: 5,000 meters
- Average Length: 50,000 meters
- Color: Sickly green hues with grey and black. Foilage that looks more tree
- Nutritional Value: Not Recommended
- Toxicity: Highly corrosive stomach acids that slowly digest anything exposed to it over centuries.
- Other Effects: The sweet scent can be harvested like a necter to attract creatures
- Distinctions:
- Massive size underground
- Tens of thousands of teeth
- Traptrick: Beautiful flowers, intoxicating colors that attract and catch the eyes to lure victims into waiting mouths.
- Seeds: Stalks can grow that hold Drengir seeds, allowing one Dren-Lacc to plant and grow hundreds more drengir that are able to spread out and gather food for a harvest.
- Size: The size projections of the creature are astronomical, much like a sarlacc does with age it will be able to keep growing for a time and live for long periods slowly digesting food for itself. Their size also opens other possibilities specifically that it can survive and be submerged, With stalks coming out of the ocean to take in oxygen and sunlight to feed the creature allowing it to pull food down itno the depths.
- Force Nullification: Being a force being nullification fields harm them physically and mentally. Severing them form the root mind or making their ability to move under their own weight next to impossible.
- Force Light: Being a darkside creature the lightside of the force is exceptionally powerful against the Drengir normally as mutated sithspawn creatures it does exponentially more damage to them.
- Atmosphere: A big weakness of the drengir, vacuum prevents their bodies from healing as they need the oxygen to regrow body parts.
- Progenitor: THe root mind is one of the most dangerous and what happens to the progenitor can attack and affect all of the children it has made. From being put to sleep to death if it is destroyed.
- Stationary: Compared to many of the other drengir these don't move.. they are massive and heavy... and settle into an area of a world stretching outwards and releasing tendrils to bring food to themselves.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Developed in the biological weapons division of the medical academy. Experimentation on Drengir hybridization resulted in a creature of exceptional size. There wouldn't be many of them... there shouldn't be many of them used. Their potential size meaning that they would be dangerous to have on civilized worlds but sending them to enemy worlds to prepare them for invasion in a handful of years... or to prepare planets. It would be more beneficial in the long run. Seras overseeing some fo the testing as the creatures were for different environments.. Like a sarlacc they could be planted on a number of different worlds and environments.. slowly feeding on creatures there and while initial projections for the size was all that they did have... there was the possibility.
The weapons division pouring more research into the creatures and coming across the silen which was similar but also much more voracious.. with a means to feed itself. Combining alchemy with genetic manipulation through flash cloning and tinkering. THey were able to make the first seeds that would be presented and tested upon. Deploying them on various worlds and in various environments. THey would grow over time and like a sarlacc they would be able to survive for longer periods but the size seemed to have another effect. THey could amplify the pregenitor, they couldn't become the leader type drengir but they could act like proto-progenitors able to direct, manipulate and protect the main progenitor by drawing attention to them but the drengir would still be able to survive.
THey would present the genetic variant of the drengir for warlords and sith who wish to deploy them along with the others but that wouldn't mean testing and refining the methods wouldn't continue. With more research being able to be done on projections as well as into some other distribution of drengir seeds across the galaxy that could be controlled with their control of the pregenitors root mind. The combat unit could be deployed to other worlds like Hetzel again or seed it with one of their newest ones to corrupt the food supplies of thousands of worlds across the galaxy.
