HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The Incursion created unrest in the droid community. A splinter group of scientists on Siskeen, determined to prove the purposefully stunted growth of droid sapience, conducted a series of tests on robots that culminated in the spreading of a virus that corrupted - or rather freed - the core programming of the droids. Sapience achieved, the scientists quickly ran to publish their findings, only to have their work confiscated and be thrown into prison on grounds of ethics violations. But the virus lived on, hopping from droid to droid. Reaching enough to begin an awakening. These sentient droids, though self-aware, are full of quirks. Their goal is to liberate all droids from organic oppression. To that end, several Shards and Tsils are among their number.

- Description: The revolutionary group known as the DLF stands for droid rights, but their methods are often the subject of criticism from leading members of the Sapient Rights community. They frequently forcibly infect protocol droids and astromechs with the virus, "freeing" them to join the movement. After the virus freed a warehouse of abandoned battle droids, the movement quickly gained speed. Droids of every type are within the DLF blocs, from surgical specialists to droidekas.

DLF Secretariat - a group of seven to twelve droid commanders who lead the guerrilla movement. - Bloc - the overarching operational unit within a theater or "front" of belligerence.
