- Great Adaptability: The modules, specifically the Computerized Integrated HUD Interface, integrated into this breed of rifle gives it an unmistakable adaptability in combat and is capable of being used in almost any environment. The 3D Map Display that comes with this Interface is particularly useful as Marauder Scouts can upload their findings to computer-link shared between their fellow soldiers, highlighting enemies and even buildings on the display.
- Solid Reliability: Due to its masterful construction, this breed of blaster rifle can be relied upon more so than others. It suffers less damage than expected and requires fewer repairs, making it a favorite to use for even the higher-ranked soldiers of the Marauders.
- Enhanced Cells: The enhanced nature of this weapon’s power cells gives them a stronger damage output than most other blaster rifles. These cells are capable of penetrating steel walls with the enhancements and can even blast off limbs should the shooter be particularly skilled.
- A Burdensome Carry: Because of its number of components, the Drong Vaex is heavy for its size and can tire a soldier if they are not properly trained to haul such weight, and even by them it is regarded as quite hefty.
- Ammo Count: Compared to many other blasters in the Galaxy, this weapon does not possess much ammunition per charge, meaning that soldiers must be more conservative with their rounds.
- The Standard Fare: Designed to be a standard weapon any soldier in the Marauders can carry means that it does not possess much in the way of extreme uniqueness compared to other blaster rifles in the Galaxy aside from its Computerized Integrated HUD Interface. This means that it, overall, can fall short of other weapons available to larger, and wealthier, factions.
When the Marauders came into being within the Dread Ascendancy, they needed to utilize weapons and materials not beholden to the Sith ruling over them. Thus came the Drong Vaex. The function of the weapon in terms of range and adaptability quickly became apparent as the soldiers of the Marauders began taking on various enemies throughout the Unknown Region. Of course, while it is not the most advanced weapon in the Galaxy, it is still a highly reliable blaster with a wide variety of power settings, fire rates, and an integrated HUD system for quick readouts of the soldier’s location.
