It can go either way, really. Either you land in technology or you land in species, depends entirely on the focus of the submission. For instance, the Coruscant Rotary Club has subbed several different drugs. Most of mine run through the species section because I enjoy highlighting chemical pathways and the like, and evolution that led to the production of the drug. For instance, I created a sub for a cactus that is used for drug distribution but also methylates drugs to a more potent form: Kranos Cactus. However, in the same vein, I subbed a drug through Technology, because it focused more on the effects and what not of the drug: D-Grade.
In the end, it's all about what makes sense.

If it is synthetic or a derived medicine (i.e; a drug made from a plant, not the plant itself) it is a factory thing, if it is the plant, mold, etc, that it is derived from, it is a species/codex thing.
