PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS

A shadowy enforcer of justice, Drystan embodies a methodical relentlessness in vanquishing evil. A tactician to the core, he leverages fear and intimidation as weapons, often striking from the shadows to disrupt and dismantle his enemies before they ever realize the danger. To him, defeating evil—particularly the Sith—requires more than strength; it demands a doctrine that breaks both the body and the will. In this war of attrition, Drystan is the sharpened edge that never dulls.

Despite his fearsome presence and cold precision, Drystan is guided by a deeply held moral code, rooted in both the Jedi teachings and his own hard-won convictions. However, he values effectiveness over orthodoxy, recognizing the gray and often brutal compromises required in pursuit of the greater good. While he often holds back until there is no other choice, he does not shy away from the darker aspects of his work. He accepts the cost, believing that what he does—no matter how grim—is necessary for the survival of the galaxy. Fiercely loyal to both the Jedi Order and those he holds dear, Drystan walks a path few can follow, convinced that every shadowed step he takes is a burden lifted from others.

Yet beneath the strength and certainty lies a quieter tragedy. Drystan has come to believe that he was made for this and nothing more—a sword to be drawn, used, and sheathed. He harbors envy for those who build rather than destroy, especially Jedi who's path diverges from his own. While he never says it outright, there's a part of him that longs for the peace he protects but does not believe he deserves. Haunted by the loss of his parents and his master, and shaped by endless conflict, Drystan has thrown himself into the fight so completely that he's forgotten how to exist beyond it.

Off-duty, a different Drystan emerges. When not consumed by the weight of his mission, he can be surprisingly amicable and approachable. He blends into casual settings with ease, even carrying a quiet charisma that draws others in. But this softer side is fleeting. The shift from relaxed to intense can be abrupt—almost jarring. His combat instincts run so deep that he sometimes startles even himself with how quickly they surface. The contrast between the man and the weapon he's become is stark—and it's clear which of the two has claimed most of him.

STRENGTHS

  • Combat Tactician
    • Displays natural aptitude for all things combat. He can adapt to and work with multiple tactics and doctrines. He frequently uses weapons and tools aside from lightsabers, keeping them as staples in his arsenal. He has an innate intuition when it comes to combat, being proficient in wielding various weapons to a high degree, even learning to handle exotic or unfamiliar ones on the fly.
  • Photographic Reflexes
    • Drystan has the uncanny ability to perfectly replicate physical movement after seeing said movement just once. This combined with his innate understanding of combat allows him to change, create and counter attacks and styles mid battle. While he can replicate, he cannot mimic any physical prowess required to use the moves to its fullest potential such as any speed or strength behind the technique. His photographic reflexes also serve as a way to mimic the mannerisms of other people he observes, allowing him greater ease when donning a disguise.
  • Living Shadow
    • As a Jedi Shadow, Drystan is highly skilled in infiltration, stealth, sabotage, and espionage. His true specialty lies in interrogation, where he employs physical intimidation and psychological warfare to break down his enemies.
  • A Living Weapon
    • Drystan has transformed his body into the perfect conduit of violence. He has pushed his body and mind to their fullest potential, developing athletic gifts that allow him access to impressive feats of physicality without relying on the Force. His rigorous training has forged a nigh-unbreakable will, granting him natural resistances against mental assaults and an unrelenting determination that makes him almost impossible to sway or break.

WEAKNESSES
  • Battlebound
    • Drystan's obsession with conflict runs deeper than discipline—it is a compulsion born of trauma, purpose, and self-denial. He chases battle not only to vanquish evil, but because it is the only place he feels truly alive. This addiction to combat causes him to engage in unnecessary risk, push past rational limits, and forgo rest or recovery. Peace feels foreign. Without the fight, he feels lost.
  • Solo Operative
    • Believes he works better alone or as the sole person assigned to a specific task in an operation. Most of his combat doctrines and tactics are not designed for collaborative efforts, making teamwork a challenge for both him and those who wish to work with him.
  • Tempestuous
    • Beneath Drystan's exterior lies a simmering rage, a remnant of the hardships and traumas of his childhood. This anger often seeps into his persona, driving him to strike harder and push further than necessary. While this intensity can give him an edge in tense situations, it also risks overreach or loss of control if kept unchecked.
  • Workaholic
    • Drystan's work ethic is relentless to a fault. He disregards limits and burns himself down in pursuit of his mission, refusing help or rest. While this fuels his legend, it comes at great cost—frequent injuries, mental fatigue, and emotional withdrawal. He often hides these effects behind discipline and duty, convinced that slowing down would make him weak, or worse—useless.

HISTORY

Drystan Creed's life began in the shadowy underbelly of Coruscant, orphaned at a young age and exposed to the harsh realities of crime and destitution. His parents fell victim to the dangers of the streets, leaving Drystan to fend for himself. In this unforgiving environment, he learned to sharpen his mind and instincts, as well as developing the raw potential he had with the force.

As a child, Drystan's life took an unexpected turn when he broke into the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Having grown confident in his skills at pilfering to survive, Drystan's youthful naivete spurred him to run a half-baked operation to steal prized artifacts from the temple. His operation was discovered the moment he set foot in the temple, secretly observed as a test by the Jedi to gauge his potential. The Jedi, impressed by his raw talent and force sensitivity, apprehended the boy before he could make an escape, but made him an offer: To join their ranks and become a disciple of light or be turned into the authorities. Drystan took the first choice, leaving his past life behind to become an agent of the Jedi. While the Order saw in him vast untapped potential in both his skills and affinity with the force, they also recognized the darkness in his heart, a product of his painful past, but believed it could be tempered and redirected toward the greater good. Taking him in, the Jedi Order became the home he never had, the first time he had a true place to call his own.

Over the years, Drystan honed his abilities, proving adept in the tenets that led him to knighthood and the path of a Jedi Shadow. As a Shadow, he operates in the seediest underbellies of the galaxy, waging a one man war against injustice wherever he can.
