STRENGTHS
  • | Not Your Toy | The Killbox is designed as an anti-tamper unit, and as one might expect destroys software and hardware that it is applied to by delivering a powerful ion pulse directly into the device or system. The Killbox automatically enters an 'armed' phased if the device it is attached to goes inactive (ie a droid equipped with it is shot and deactivated) and then triggers if it detects any external attempts (including Mechu Deru) to interact with the device it is attached to without security clearance codes. This ensures that no data or hardware falls into hands it is not meant to fall into as everything will be fused together and fried thoroughly.
WEAKNESSES
  • | Disruption | Just as the Killbox is designed to trigger when it detects tampering, disruption of its function can also result in it automatically triggering. If something occurs that affects the Killbox, it can go off without someone trying to handle it directly. Individuals aware of the Killbox installment in a system can purposefully 'trick' the system into activating, thus destroying whatever system it is installed in.

DESCRIPTION

The DS 'Killbox' Anti-Tamper Unit is what you expect from the name; a device designed to prevent tampering with systems or platforms it is applied to. The Killbox is a failsafe system designed around protecting sensitive information or hardware, preventing it from falling into the hands of people you don't want having it and to have them extract data or reverse engineer it.
Each Killbox unit sold comes with its own randomly generated 'key' that disables the Killbox without setting it off. This allows for units and hardware to be repaired or data extracted without frying the system to hell and back. Other than that, it's a simple yet effective system with a dual-stage activation system to ensure that it doesn't accidentally go off immediately when a system it is installed suddenly goes offline so that it may be recovered.
