• Tapani Dueling Practices: (Includes fencing and some other styles of sword combat) Master

Personality Strengths:

 • Creative
 • Dutiful
 • Wary
 • Eccentric
 • Industrious
 • Confident

Personality Weaknesses:

 • Insensitive
 • Requires attachment to stay somewhere
 • Judgmental
 • Borderline sociopathic tendencies
 • Secretive
 • Often closed off
 • Lonely
 • Difficulty forming close relationships
 • Mental stability comes with difficulty

Other Strengths:

 • Augmented - Uhh, this is as much of a weakness as it is a strength. Ivlyn is obsessed with bettering herself, and achieving her dreams without her illness impacting her. The result has been widespread augmentation to her body, all of which started as being necessary but has surpassed that.
 • Probably brilliant - Ivlyn’s Arkanian genes have come into play. Achieving doctorate-level knowledge thanks to her days at college, Ivlyn’s mind is a true piece of art. She might think herself more intelligent than anyone in a room most of the time, but the problem with her ego is that she might be right. Though she can turn into a preening egotist with delusions about her greatness, Ivlyn is a scientist with a skill level often only seen in Arkanian scientists, and the top minds of the Republic and Empire. The downside is that it feeds her delusions, and is why she has this concept of ‘Starlight Children’.
 • Assassination Capacity - Uhh… Ivlyn is an assassin who has been training for sixteen years. It is her duty. Her life. It is one of the things that she is the best at in life. She is quite good at what she does.
 • Force-sensitivity - Ivlyn is a potent force-sensitive, who can pair her force-sensitivity with her augmentation, training, and natural abilities to achieve the lethality that is required for being a member of the Mecrosa Order. Essentially, she’s a combat trained badass, and if you want to kill her it’s best to send a Mandalorian or another force-sensitive.

Other Weaknesses:

 • Deformation - Ivlyn was born deformed, internally, lacking proper eyesight, and lacking the ability to smell or taste properly, thanks to a force-imbued area on Pelagon - where she was conceived - causing major problems. Because of this, she has had to have several augmentations, some of which enhance her, yes, but all of which her necessary. Despite her augmentations, there is a chance of her normal organs failing at any time. If she dies is up to a number of factors. How did she receive the wound? Was it trauma? Did she drink too much wine? Was it poison? When even food can cause your organs to fail, you have to be extremely careful. Even surgery and augmentation hasn’t stopped her deformation from becoming a serious detriment to her life, and an illness that she has to cope with everyday.
 • Probably paranoid - Ivlyn lives in a condominium, rather than an estate with servants. She has a few assistants, but they work professionally and aren’t linked to her father or her noble house. Why? She says it’s independence, and a part of it is, but honestly it’s more paranoia than anything. If Ivlyn’s father wasn’t watching her through her servants, then someone else was. He has problems, too, though, being a little bit more protective than he should be with a 27 year old daughter. NOTE: She still uses the palatial estate, but it’s really only used for social gatherings nowadays.
 • Prone to delusions - Ivlyn can develop delusions quite easily. She believes that she is destined to achieve greatness as one of the ‘Starlight Children’, a term she coined that refers to those meant to achieve their dreams, entirely and without leaving anything out. She also believes that Force users have been relegated to second-class citizens that are essentially commodities in this modern age.
 • Mental Illness and developmental issues - While the things above can be considered part of her mental illness and development issues, the problems don’t end there. As a child, Ivlyn couldn’t even bare to be around other children. She only tolerated one. That single kid was her only friend for most of her childhood, and at first they weren’t even really friends. She still has issues with that. It’s part of her judgmental attitude, insensitivity, and the layers of companionship she has. She has borderline sociopathic traits, is on the Spectrum (she has Asperger’s; she’s my first character with it, and thankfully I have experience), suffers from PTSD to the point that it could limit the development of her force abilities, and has the potential to “fall off the wagon” at any moment, with a higher predisposition to developing addictions which, thanks to her physical deformation, can be far more lethal than it can for the usual person.
 • Lost Potential and Stress - Juggling all the things she has or currently does at the same time can take a toll on a person’s development. Though skilled, intelligent, and certainly lethal enough to handle her job as an assassin and a scientist, it is having those two jobs and the responsibilities of a noble that have led to Ivlyn’s loss potential and her stress. Ivlyn is spread too thin, and that’s starting to take its toll. Human beings are not meant for the amount of stress she has to endure with the kind of mental illness she has. It is breaking her. She’s bitten off too much to chew, at the cost of her enjoyment in many areas (especially her art), and the only way to get rid of this would be to A.) disappoint the Mecrosa Order, which might respond violently, to and B.) disappoint her father by leaving his corporation. Both are currently unacceptable to Ivlyn, who had to struggle to become aware of this issue, and doesn’t want to make the decision at the moment because of rather complex personal reasons.
 • ”Where, oh where do I belong?” - Ivlyn is an influencer both on her world and in the Mecrosa Order. People are stupid enough to look up to a woman who has no idea where she actually stands in terms of religious and ideological beliefs. She doesn’t believe in all parts of the Sith religion, nor all parts of Jedi beliefs, nor does she have an equal balance of the two. She is drifting, seeking something more. Something she can identify with. She doesn’t realize that it is she who must decide that she has to pick and choose beliefs from both, and come to understand herself enough that she can create her own to fill in the holes.

Other Stuffs:

Agility: Ivlyn is more agile than your average human being thanks to her training and her lighter than average bones. Flexible and well-balanced, she can jump from wall to wall, performing slashing attacks at those who were unfortunate enough to corner her in a room alone. She knows how to use momentum to her advantage, allowing her to conserve energy in should she decide to always move.

Perception: For 21 years, ever since that day when she was given a straining tutor, Ivlyn has been exploring her perception so that she may pull an enemy behind her in front of her using telekinesis (or just choke them without moving them), or detect a foe before ambushing them, or even choke someone to death through a wall.

Melee Expertise: The sword. The long needle. The stave. Ivlyn’s training has encompassed a wide variety of weapons, and when she wields her lightfoils in combination telekinetic capabilities she is more than capable of eviscerating people, and humiliating unprepared enemies. She also has more than enough knowledge of dueling others wielding a lightfoil or lightsaber, thanks to being a member of the Tapani dueling society, and being a master of Form II as well as traditional (and some not-so-traditional) dueling practices. Between her agility, telekinetic lightsaber combat, and her combat armor, Ivlyn is likely to be a vicious competitor in combat. Most skilled in combat with her lightfoils, she is a graceful and always moving enemy who leverages her enhanced capabilities against the average human.

Ranged Expertise: One of her poorest areas of knowledge, Ivlyn is capable of firing a blaster at close ranges (one of which is in her armor), but sucks at being able to hit a moving target more, or anything similar. However, on the other hand of her ranged expertise is her capacity for telekinetic lightsaber combat. Combined with her skill in melee, it makes her a ferocious opponent at multiple ranges, allowing her to soften up incoming opponents, surprise enemies with thrown ‘boomerang’ lightsabers, create a defense, and similar feats.

Unarmed Expertise: Ivlyn’s unarmed capabilities are even poorer than her ranged capabilities are, but are bolstered by the fact that, should she lose access to her lightsabers, she has access to claws capable of doing harm to even armored individuals thanks to her enhanced strength.

Force Control: A trained force sensitive with access to things such as heightened telekinesis befitting of her years of experience, Ivlyn’s power doesn’t end there. It is through the Mecrosa Order that Ivlyn has harnessed the ability to control the force energy that radiates throughout her. She can achieve (feats) such as Force Concealment, and she considers this her second best capability. She is most skilled with the art of Force Telekinesis, allowing her to perform techniques such as telekinetic force combat, force whirlwind, force barrier, force grip, and force burst.

Equipment:

 • Augmented Charon Battle Armor
 • Lightfoils

 • Augmented Musculoskeletal System: Bioengineering and cybernetics both have a hand in this one. Bioengineering made Ivlyn’s bones lighter and more flexibile, allowing greater speed, agility, and flexibility, as well as making her tendons and such more durable; it also increased muscle density. Meanwhile, cybernetics have reinforced her skeleton and bones, allowing her to lift a little less than what a droid her size and weight would be capable of lifting. This allows her to lift about 4 times what a person at peak capacity would normally be capable of achieving.

 • Synaptic Enhancement: Ivlyn is smart, but that doesn’t help much when you’re in combat and need to react more quickly. Thanks to the enhancement of her neural synapses, her agility, balance, and reaction time are all enhanced. Her reaction time is three times what it formerly was.

 • Redundant Organs (Medical Necessity: Ivlyn had to be augmented with redundant organs as a medical necessity. Her own organs were deformed at birth, and though largely repaired have a chance of failing randomly at any time, and are more vulnerable than the organs of others. They don't enhance her physical capabilities, and any survivability increase is balanced by the fact that even eating too much of something has the potential to cause a medical emergency. They're just there, waiting for a medical emergency like random kidney failure because my char had too much wine. Unfortunately, this arises from Ivlyn’s own force-sensitivity. Conceived on Pelagon in a heavily Force-imbued area, things just didn’t go well.

 • Multispectrum Vision: Enhanced from the usual ability for Arkanian’s to see in both infrared and normal light spectrums, Ivlyn has the eyesight of an animal able to see even in ultraviolet, with eyesight keen enough to pick up dust floating in the air. Of course, this causes problems, as Ivlyn went a bit… overboard. Her Charon battle armor has been outfitted with a special visor that allows her to adjust her visual intake, thus protecting her from things like flash bombs, but limiting her enhanced eyesight in general.
Other Stuff

Force Abilities:
 • Force Sense: Adept
 • Force Lightning: Adept
 • Force Telekinesis: Adept Specialist
 • Force Pull/Push: Adept Specialist
 • Force Burst: Adept
 • Force Barrier: Adept
 • Telekinetic Lightsaber Combat: Adept
 • Force Grip: Acolyte
 • Force Whirlwind: Acolyte
 • Force Drain: Acolyte
 • Alter Environment: Adept (thanks to telekinesis and scientific background)
 • Force Concealment: Adept

 • Standard Force Abilities: Force sense, force lightning, force telekinesis, force pull/push, force speed, force jump, mind trick, and similar things are all part of her standard capabilities, not any greater or more unique than anyone else’s.

 • Telekinetic Specialist: Ivlyn’s telekinesis is, arguably, her strongest ability, covering a number of telekinetically-derived powers such as telekinetic lightsaber combat, force burst, force barrier, force whirlwind, and force grip. She is powerful enough and has fine enough skill to rip someone’s tongue or eyeballs out of their skull, though probably wouldn’t want to since that’s messy, and she prefers cleaner kills.

 • Force Burst One of the first advanced forms of force telekinesis that Ivlyn learned was Force Burst. Using this ability, Ivlyn is capable of creating a sphere of telekinetic energy that can either come in the form of a huge and outright explosive sphere to a small, fast, and lethal sphere of the same reddish tone. The first sphere variation mentioned takes time to manifest, usually a few moments to form (though it can take less or more time), while the second is able to be created near-instantaneously but is likely to be more dangerous for the user as one could rapidly deplete themselves.

 • Force Barrier The second advancement she developed was Force Barrier, which she can use for offensive or defensive purposes to create either a barrier or a wall that can hold against sonic attacks, or to surround an opponent and then close the barrier around them. It is able to be weakened and then shattered with constant attacks and through exhausting Ivlyn sufficiently.

 • Telekinetic Lightsaber Combat Ivlyn is capable of using her lightfoils for the purpose of telekinetic lightsaber combat, though she can add in her others if she wants. Skill-wise, this is probably Ivlyn’s most well developed force power, as it builds upon telekinetic fundamentals that she’s known since she was a small child that one day decided to attack a kid with a large rock for punching her brother in the face. She can propel her lightsabers over a recent range, or create a defensive line of each blade around her meant to be used to postpone the tragic, or use the third blade as an additional parrying or bolt-deflecting weapon. Ivlyn is capable of adding a third ‘arm’ that can defend, attack, or travel like a bullet towards an enemy as though Ivlyn herself was attached to that third arm.

 • Force Grip Ivlyn has a powerful enough force grip - and, thanks to her training, heightened telekinesis - that she is capable of lifting someone up into the air, and decidedly crushing a part of the body, or, aye, an individual’s entire body. The result could be disastrous for a foe caught in her force grip, which can be used to (mostly) silently execute someone for one of Ivlyn’s assassinations. Unfortunately, it isn’t as effective as a true force crush ability yet, and homicide takes longer to achieve; the length of time it takes to kill someone depends on how Ivlyn decides to perform the kill, such as crushing a windpipe, or crushing bones. However, this can be applied to torture, as well, to strike fear into another, or remove the use of a finger or ten. Of course, she isn’t a master, and it will take time for her develop abilities that allow her to assassinate enemies from a long range more than a few rooms away.

 • Force Whirlwind Not yet wanting to explore force repulse, Ivlyn has instead gone for the force whirlwind and force wave route in an attempt to shore up her capacity for multiple attacks, and give her time to recover and think in a battle not going her way. Ivlyn is capable of generating powerful enough bursts that an ignorant individual could confuse this ability for force repulse, even though the appearance and destruction is different. Thanks to all force energy being focused in a single, omnidirectional ‘line’, Ivlyn is often capable of decapitating plenty of enemies at a time, if a bunch of foolish droids decided to swarm her, that is.

 • Force Drain: Ivlyn possesses a force drain ability very similar to other abilities under force drain that allows her to drain both the life and force of an individual to rejuvenate herself. It is only able to be achieved if Ivlyn is within a 30 meter radius of her target. At its most lethal, it can be used to wither someone into a husk. At its least lethal, she can probably use it to stun someone. She can affect more than one person, but can only target one individual lethally at a time. She has been trying to find a way to use it for longer-ranged assassinations so she doesn’t have to expose herself, but has only been met with failure. This, however, is Ivlyn’s most corrupting ability. In fact, if improperly used it will do the opposite of rejuvenating Ivlyn, and could cause an overload on a biological level that leads to mass organ failure.

 • Alter Environment: Having a scientific background helps when it comes to Alter Environment. Using this, Ivlyn can cause it to rain or hail if there are already clouds in the air, she can stomp and cause force-filled electrical discharge to travel around the ground, cause one of her telekinetic bursts to be mixed with sub-zero temperature air that deals freezing damage on contact, or make her lightfoil blade hot enough that it will catch things that get too close to it on fire. She could open up the ground, or create a force-filled fog that can be used to mask her from even the strongest of sensors (though, clearly her own force abilities will develop problems here). Course, it is a strenuous ability, and trying to affect an area too large or trying to do too much could definitely kill Ivlyn.

 • Force Concealment (Mecrosa Order): A beautiful and fine-tuned force ability from the Order’s holocron database that combines the traits of two separate abilities has given the Mecrosa Order the advantage it needs to assassinate any kind of target, whether they be force sensitive or a mundane, Force Concealment allows one to both hide themselves physically and to hide their force nature, and even that they can use the force from others. Meditation is required every day so that one may properly harness Force Concealment as needed. Without meditation, the ability will be unable to be accessed, which is why prisoners subjected to psychological (especially sonic) warfare will often have the same chance of escaping as other prisoners, which - as we all know - can be zero. It’s nigh-impossible to discover that Ivlyn is a force user when she is using this, and one will probably not know her location until she strikes when she is physically invisible. It is also possible for Ivlyn to dampen the noise she makes with this. Please note that she can either turn invisible or conceal herself, and do both at the same time.

Natural Abilities, Genetic Modifications, Cybernetics, and Other Stuff:

Claws: Not used as often as they should be, Ivlyn possesses Arkanian claws that, in the hands of a master, could probably be used to easily rip someone to shreds with a ferocious but calculated attack. However, in the hands of Ivlyn, they have become so much of a burden that she modified herself to be able to retract them. They’re less of a weapon right now, and in unarmed combat they might come in handy, but until she has a good grip on how to use her five claws it isn’t likely that she’ll be considered a vicious warrior with much calculation when it comes to the use of these. Instead, she would be more like an animal that doesn’t know what it’s doing with these claws.

Subcutaneous Communications System: Used to communicate over ranges that are a bit too long, and with her astromech droid, Ivlyn’s subcutaneous communications system could also be worn on the outside, or in her armor, but hasn’t been.

Redundant Organs: Born with physical issues thanks to the Force imbued area she was conceived in, Ivlyn was healed for the most part, but that didn’t stop her from worrying. Despite appearing largely normal, Ivlyn has redundant artificial organs for her heart, lungs, kidney, and basically everything except for the eyes, sex organs, and brain. These aren’t around without reason, ya’know. There is a potential that, at any time, these redundant organs will safe Ivlyn from her own body. However, if they do the job is up to fate.

Metallo-tongue: Wanting to regain her sense of taste, something she didn’t have as a child, Ivlyn created modifications for her tongue. Now, she can even use that tongue to pick up senses in the air, allowing her to identify people or ‘taste’ the air to detect that a force-sensitive is in the area. It also identifies when something is poisoned.

Enhanced Musculoskeletal System: Bioengineering and cybernetics both have a hand in this one. Bioengineering made Ivlyn’s bones lighter and more flexible, allowing greater speed, agility, and flexibility, as well as making her tendons and such more durable; it also increased muscle density. Meanwhile, cybernetics have reinforced her skeleton and bones, allowing her to lift up to five times what the usual human in peak condition can lift.

Meld with Charon Battle Armor: Ivlyn has a connection to her Charon battle armor that allows her to use it properly, letting her mold it as needed, and even allowing her to calm it enough so that she can implement whatever modifications that she needs. This feat is basically what keeps the Charon battle armor from constricting and harming her during combat.

Appearance:

Ivlyn is five feet eight inches tall. She’s ginger that could become as heartless as the jokes say people like her are. Her blue eyes are more of a hyperblue, a cerulean, that pierces into the souls of others with what is often a mixture of sardonic amusement and judgement. She’s more ferocious than her stature says she is. You’ll probably see her tearing apart her enemies, enhanced by cybernetics and her Charon battle armor.

Biography:

Note: The history is in first person, but I’ll always write in third person.

I’ve had an interesting 27 years, but having an interesting life isn’t always a good thing, especially in a world like the one that we live in today. That’s why some humans from a culture I forget the name of say “may you have an interesting life”, or “may you meet interesting people” to those who have left a bad taste in their mouth, or when they’re the really grouchy manager of a Tipani Express fast-food restaurant. My story has been a bit of a troublesome one, if you really think about it, but I still live for the excitement that it offers me - and sometimes I regret that. To tell you my story, I guess that I would really have to start with my parents. Maybe I’m only mentioning them because I miss her… and remember the day that she died.

Before I opened the blue eyes that would come to see so much, my mother met the man that she would come to fall in love with. The sky was a crystal blue, quite the uncharacteristic hue for a usually gray winter day, on the day that these two would find themselves on Pelagon’s most beautiful continent. My mother, Lady Irey Mecetti, was in a cafe sipping on the fancy, rare, and clearly imported tea that had just been served to her, when a man approached, and commented on her hair, her eyes, the milky flesh that merged with every other feature to create a woman who was remarkably beautiful. Many men had lusted after her - women, too - but Par’kh Ar’khos of the Arkanians was a different kind of man, and she didn’t sense any lust in his eyes. He walked away, giving a charming grin, and taking a seat at a different table.

The air was filled with the smell of coffee, fine teas, spice, and a hint of citrus - the combination could have only created the best of atmospheres. Was that atmosphere the reason that a spark ignited in the air, or was it the total lack of judgment, the sheer sincerity of their actions that sparked it? Both had experienced hatred, shock, and every other kind of judgment for who they were, what they were, or even what they did. Both had been through things that had given them a kind of mutual understandings, and the first spark of love had linked them, made them curious, given them something extra that day. Over the course of the next several weeks, they would bond in that cafe where they first met.

Three years of dating followed, they learned everything about each other, then they decided that marriage was the greatest idea that they had ever shared, and Par’kh slipped a ring onto the finger of his new bride. Mother knew that father was an immensely influential businessman and a rare force sensitive, and father knew that mother was similarly force-sensitive and an influential noble in House Mecetti. That didn’t matter, though, as this was something done for love and love alone, not the wants and needs of their parents. They lived together for a few years, and then the couple decided that they wanted to raise a child together. I was born the following year on the 26th of the fifth month of 3684 BBY, after being conceived on a force-imbued area of Pelagon. They had an epic romance, always loved to dance, went out to eat on dates, and when they had me things did change, but the epic romance only strengthened, they danced as happily as before, and they brought me out on dates. My mother and father were in love, and they loved me. I was happy for a while, but that was set to change.

I wasn’t born perfect. I had developmental problems, as well as physical issues, and a force sensitivity that had to be hidden. I received a tutor from the Mecrosa Order at a age six, after my mother realized that a formal education would be best. This was, of course, after multiple surgeries and genetic modifications cured me of many of my physical problems. I still had issues with children, and socializing, but by the time I reached college I would handle things a lot better.

I was twelve years old when it happened, when the disaster that would reshape my life would change. Rogue forces on the planet had targeted Lady Irey in one of their insane terrorist actions that seemed to have been aimed at toppling the Tapani government, the mother that I still love so much to this day, for assassination. My father was offworld on a meeting to acquire new shipyards, doing something that he hoped would bring even more wealth to our four person family. Oh, did I forget to mention that I had a brother, now? Bastion Mecetti. Beautiful guy, looks nothing like me, and probably will never be as powerful, but that could just be the sibling rivalry talking. Behind the scenes of that year, outside of the public eye, the same shop/cafe that my mother and father met at was occupied by at least a few rogue.

Into the Alcheria Marketplace they went. My mother was there when the screams started in the shopping market, just walking, minding her business as explosions ripped through the area. The rogues saw us as targets, and they were about to strike at us when she stepped in front of me, eyes igniting a cerulean blue. She told me to run with my little brother, and hide. She was strong enough to find us anywhere. There was no hiding from the mighty, so-called ‘Warp’. The mighty wrath of Irey Mecetti tore them apart, but fear had gotten to her, worry, shame for humanity, panic when she realized that there was more than what she had taken out. She jumped at one, literally ripping off their head, thankful that witnesses would be too much in shock to be believed and that the security system’s visual surveillance was down. Then the last rogue came, but she was blindsided by him. The rogue killed my mother and himself with a thermal detonator.

I remember letting out a fearful, surprised scream, the smell of burnt flesh, obliterated concrete, and molten metal filling my senses, my eyes watering from the tears, and from the toxic smoke filling the air, and then it went black. I had been protected when Bastion and I melded our force sensitivity in terror, and formed a force barrier. I woke up to someone picking me up, and panicked, only to be calmed by their words. Everything looked worse than it did before I had woken up. That place which was so important was decimated, by my mother’s power as much as the thermal detonators. Bodies melted into walls, doors to shops disappeared, some cement had turned into jelly. It was the first taste of that kind of power that I had gotten, and probably the last. Irey Mecetti was unique in more ways than one. It was horrible. He hid my eyes, the man I knew as my kin. The next thing he did was make sure that nothing could be discovered about me. That’s the only reason I hid. His ability set was well suited to the task.

Apparently, I had become unconscious again. When I woke, the first face I saw was that of a kind man’s. Nurses and doctors walked outside the curtain, and then I noticed that my father was there, and I teared up, in pain, afraid, missing my mother, but he calmed me before I did. His eyes were red. Had father been crying? Father never cried. Mother really had died, then. I asked where my brother was, panicking at his absence, ashamed that I didn't stay awake to watch over him. He was in another hospital room. They explained that to me. He was in better shape than I was. He avoided the lacerations, but a panic attack had messed with his vitals, and caused him to hyperventilate into unconsciousness, so he was being watched. Little boys younger than their older, but still young sisters simply aren’t made for things that their siblings can barely handle.

It turns out that my father had been recalled, and postponed the negotiations when our protector - watching from afar - contacted him. My father could barely look at me, and I could barely stand the thought of rogue government factions. I’m not sure I really have forgiven them; rogues, I mean, in general. Not all of them, at least, but there are some good ones… I think. Maybe. If I ever discover rogues that have rebelled against their peoples, their rulers, then perhaps I will come to understand why one would rebel. Like it would take time for me to forgive, my father had to take time to look at me. I was the spitting image of my mother. He avoided me until I was 16, and then we had some bonding time until the day I officially joined the Mecrosa Order as an Apprentice to my Master, Ar’khos. My father didn’t want to let me go, but at the same time he couldn’t bear to be reminded of my mother. I forgave him for that later on, but stayed quiet about it then. I wasn’t as bold as I am now. That was it, and I was off to be trained by my relatives.

I would train, and train, being fine-tuned into a half-human weapon capable of decimating the Mecrosa Order’s enemies. I was proud of myself. Proud of what I was. My ancestors had been warlords and monarchs, businessmen and scientist that led projects that honored the Arkanian race by reaching and even surpassing what the Republic and Empire were capable of (note: that’s another Arkanian thing. The others actually struggled to even reach a small part of the multi-generational dedication that Arkanians could have to their projects), but, for me, none compared to the honor I felt when I was told of those that possessed the Force. They were different. Special.

I had nightmares, received counseling, but the memories of my mother and the knowledge of my bloodline were what comforted me. I still have nightmares of losing her. It felt as though I lost everything that day, even my humanity.

The Mecrosa Order had to reign me in frequently. I was an university goer as well as covertly a member of their organization, interning with my father at his company and attending the best Tapani education alike. I often ventured out to a picturesque lake nearby the main building of the Mecrosa Order on Nyssa. One time a boy joined me, and we bonded over it, and would one day discover that we were more alike than we once thought. That makes me smile. He was cute, too. Of course, I wasn’t good with people then, but I had made a friend, and I still actually talk to that guy. At that time, I was able to start making friends again, but I still wasn’t the greatest child in the world. My father came to visit me all the time, too. He had finally gotten over not being able to be reminded of my mother. He even saved everything that mom owned, and gave me the boxes.

I was always a smart child, and an overachiever. I entered honors classes at the Grand Tapani University at the age of sixteen, with a perfect grade. You had no idea how much I stressed myself out. I was spread so thin that it almost broke me, but the result was a mind with a thorough understanding of plenty, especially regarding cybernetics and biology, and a warrior’s body able to fight foes that once would have terrified me. I was a fighter. An assassin. A scientist. I worked at my father’s company, as a scientist, often using my position as a cover for my work, or allowing other Mecrosa assassins to get a job, maybe a simple one, but it would be a job that let them access targets we would have never been able to access before.

Before my mother died, I was heading to a friend’s. I promised her that I would be good that day, and I’ve kept my promise. I am good. I’m not sure what I meant by that, though. I’m not sure if I’m to be a good person, or good at what I do. I’m not the best person, but I strive for excellence. I get my job done no matter the target, and my other time is spent at the company. I just wish I had more time for art. Mother would have wanted me to pursue my art. I’m great at that. Not so much at the other stuff, but I could’ve been one of the great living artist if things were different. If the galaxy were different, but that would mean not being a force-sensitive, and that is something that appalls me. I just hope that I don’t keep inevitably disappointing myself with the kind of standards I have. Perfection isn’t good. It breaks you, but I’ll have to figure that out later.

Over the last year, a lot has happened. I actually only graduated and become a scientist within the last year. Most people think I’m a diplomat for the Mecetti and the rest of the noble houses. I’m different than I was when I was younger. I’m better developed. I can socialize, but I’m not... I’m not good, am I?

Personality:

The personality that has made Ivlyn who she is as a person has gotten her into all kinds of trouble, gotten her out of trouble, and managed to get her into situations so awesome that other people probably can’t even dream of them. As an individual, Ivlyn is somewhat of an eccentric who has made sure that her life will not be meaningless should it be lost, and who wishes to leave a legacy behind just as her mother did. She loves her mother despite her having been gone since Ivlyn was 12, and made a promise to her to be the best that she very could, whether that means serving House Mecetti, or being a grand scientist like her father, or fighting past internal issues so that she can handle everything thrown out her. Ivlyn is peculiar; to some this is obvious, but to others she is only a little bit different from others.

Ivlyn has both villainous and heroic tendencies, outlining a neutrality that acts as a slate for development in the future, but as time goes on she gets darker. Killing has become far easier for her in the service of the Mecrosa Order. Her borderline sociopathic tendencies mean that it is easier for Ivlyn to commit villainous acts, to be drawn to power, and, with the right event, she could even develop delusions of grandeur. Ivlyn’s morality, however, has been defined by her life experiences, and there limits to her actions. Massacring children? It’s viewed as a completely unnecessary act by Ivlyn in most circumstances. Killing a witness to something she doesn’t want word to spread about? Absolutely necessary most of the time, even if that person is considered a friend, though the exact circumstances and relationship could determine what occurs. If children are the witnesses? Ivlyn isn’t opposed to killing children. Still, she would try to avoid it. In fact, she’s likely to be extremely careful because of that possibility.

Ivlyn has a certain air of confidence about her. An assurance that she worked hard to acquire, that borders on arrogance at times. An amusing contradiction is that she knows she is a skilled individual who views her work as a kind of art, but like all artists is highly critical, and might never appreciate her artwork or skill as much as others could. The opinions of other people don’t necessarily get to her like they would for some others. She wants to look nice, seeing it as a requirement to keep up the way she looks for her job, to maintain some amount of professionalism while keeping the personal flair of her clothing style. Ivlyn knows what some people consider her strange, or different, and she hates that people have this opinion, but she isn’t going to try to change herself, especially when it comes to her being a Force user. Besides, the therapist she has said that “trying to change parts of yourself that can’t be changed can break you, or at the very least lower your opinion of yourself. You’re the way that you are for a reason, and, though there are going to be issues that can be worked on, there are always some things that don’t need changing”.

People aren’t wrong when they say that Ivlyn is strange, even if some people are wrong to say that her force sensitivity makes her a monster, makes her a second class citizen, that it makes her a commodity. That’s exactly why Ivlyn has kept her force sensitivity hidden from almost everyone aside from her family, and a select number of other people, only knowing the opinion of some on the matter of force sensitives because she’s seen human beings at work in that regard, and heard people talk about it, or even been talked to about it. Ivlyn isn’t afraid to use abilities, as that’s necessary as a limit, but is certainly not going to flaunt them in public, and will lie about its origins if need be. Ivlyn’s past has led her to be guarded, and a bit out of sorts when it comes to people; she has difficulty feeling sympathy, so she feigns it, needing to feel close to a person, and/or identify with what happened, though she won’t feel sympathy everything sad or disappointing that happens to those close to her - would you feel sympathy for all of the little things? Everyone can become desensitized to some things. She also has difficulty forming close relationships, but it isn’t always exclusively her fault, and then there are times when she has nothing to do with it because some people shun those that they see as different.

Ivlyn isn’t without her positive traits, however, even if she is a highly flawed individual with a past that has played a part in making her the way she is. A highly devoted and industrious woman, she has worked hard to get to her position in life, fighting past personal issues to overcome obstacles, and get closer to achieving the internal goal of being the best that she very can for her mother. Her position in the science community at such a young age highlights this, and it is her dream to live her days out as a scientist making change, making the new, perhaps becoming a recognized pioneer one day so that people can be aware that she has made a change, that she has done something, not for the fame, but because of deeper reasons, of fears of being forgotten, of worry about never contributing something to the universe - one day, at least, this could be possible, there have been some reports on the less classified parts of it. Ivlyn is loyal to those people or groups that have earned it, and respects those who have earned that as well; how you can earn this varies, though if you earn both loyalty and respect you still may not have earned trust, because trust is an entirely different ballgame; she is loyal to those close to her as well, though family matters can always cause a fight, and friendships can always be broken, because circumstance is a cruel thing. She can even be thoughtful if she cares about you… or wants something, which brings us to another point about her personality.

Capable of being as manipulative and devious as any of the old families of the Tapani sector, she can talk her way out of difficult positions, lie to get close to her enemy as a new ‘ally’ only to stab them in the back, or be stubborn enough to cheat her way to victory in combat. Hateful judgment of superhumans for what they are is something that Ivlyn despises, but she can be quite judgmental herself, especially when it comes to Force sensitive haters and certain groups, all of which she believes played a massive part in, at least in her perception, causing Force sensitives to, in her perception, become second class citizens and commodities. When it comes to humor, Ivlyn isn’t absent of it. It just isn’t always clear whether or not she is using her sometimes sarcastic, sometimes odd, sometimes dark sense of humor, if her filter is broken, or both, though she knows when to hold her tongue.

An inquisitive and curious mind has helped make Ivlyn who she is, driving her to try to become more of a people person, to question things that play a part in her political beliefs. Without that inquisitive and curious mind, Ivlyn might not be able to be lively at any time, she might not even ever feel comfortable around people except for her closest family members. But she does have it, and that makes her happy. Though it doesn’t negate her flaws, Ivlyn is able to be more friendly and social than not; some might consider her okay, but far from perfect social skills to be a result of either her manipulative tendencies or self-esteem guiding her to develop them so that she’d be disliked less.

Respect and loyalty were talked about earlier. Ivlyn has no qualms about killing people, though her opinion on torture changes based on the situation. Out of respect and loyalty, Ivlyn might hold herself back for some people; even ‘might’ is subjective, however. Severe enough circumstances and/or the possibility of no one ever finding out could drive her to do either. Despite having a sense of logic to her capability for killing, and her being corrupted by the Dark Side, Ivlyn understands that there are times when the example should be ‘they need to die. No one should ever be able to do this, and no other punishment is acceptable’, or ‘you need to protect people. The only way to do this is to eliminate the issue. Permanently’. Of course, things could easily change, and so could her direction in life. Heroes don’t always have to be perfect. Some heroes even kill the bad guys. Not that Ivlyn will be a hero, or anything… She adores excitement, and sometimes even combat, the thought of excitement having driven her to join a certain government research team, but she certainly knows how to pick her battles. She can be cautious, too, and daring in others. She usually won’t fight someone stronger if she can avoid it; she won’t needlessly put her life at risk, either; she can be daring in her choices, though, and it could certainly make her decide differently in some areas.
