Mission Dulling Of Blades [GA/TSO]

Whisper of Oblivion

iu

HERALDS OF WAR

ENVOYS OF PEACE

Above the volcanic planet of EOS is a civilian ORBITAL STATION that would serve as the meeting ground of the DELEGATES of the GALACTIC ALLIANCE and THE SITH ORDER. While the two Galactic powers struck at one another on the battlefield the channels of diplomacy had not been entirely closed.

The topics of the talks were to revolve around minor concessions and compromises instead of sweeping ideas of armistice or ceasefire. What schemes or ambitions would take place within the station? In the near past worlds had been cracked and shattered by the clash of the Galactic Powers. Empires and civilizations reduced to fleeting memories on the solar winds. Would these envoys be able to blunt the edge of yet another GALACTIC WAR?

In order to present a fair field of bargaining a few terms were set forward to ensure the safety of the delegations:
  1. Envoys are to be unarmed and guards must remain at the shuttle bays.
  2. Warships are prohibited in the system.
  3. A pair of caged Ysalamiri will be present to ensure Envoys are not unduly influenced.

The intention of this thread is to foster diplomacy RP between the Galactic Alliance and The Sith Order and the results of this Mission will not result in a peace treaty or ceasefire as per request. Please respect the core intent of the thread! Characters do not have to be strictly diplomats. If you have any questions please DM me! The names of the Ysalamiri are Zircon and Theta, and they are very proper.

As the Galactic Alliance shuttle, carrying Zarion and any other delegates that would have ventured to this corner of the Galaxy to meet with representatives of The Sith Order, landed in the Orbital Station's first hangar bay and the ramp extended with a hiss, out walked the cyborg. His body sported sleek white panels with more mechanical piping and actuators filling in the areas of movement. He wore a blue cloak with gold trim, an obvious call towards the Galactic Alliance's banner.

The clink and clang of his feet against the broad tiles of the hangar fell at a steady pace as he moved from the hangar towards the conference room. One of the Orbital Station's civilian staff bowed her head "Welcome to Eos Orbital, Representative." she spoke in a clear voice "Your station is immaculate. Thank you. Is this the correct location?" he asked in a synthetic voice "Yes, you are the first to arrive. Please have a seat." she motioned towards the door as it automatically slid open.

Zarion entered and took a seat on one of the opposite sides of the table. As he waited he looked about the room. It was plain yet elegant in its simplicity.

Drazen had arrived in his usual opulence, clothes cut from fine cloth, hair tied back to stay out of his eyes. Eye. There had been some call for 'peace negotiations' or something similar, but the Sith hadn't ordained a dedicated response. Diplomats were a rare thing among the Sith, and Drazen was perhaps the worst of them all. Even still, he arrived with a cadre of bodyguards, only to leave them behind as they were demanded to stay put.
The Jedi were scared. It only made sense after the carnage the war had tolled on their worlds thus far. Consequently, it also made sense the Jedi would beg for mercy.
Drazen entered the room with a coy grin, finding a seat on his side of the table alone.
"Hello.", he said with a wave that moved through each finger in turn.
"I am Drazen Lutris. Brother of the Emperor. Diplomat, for today. I understand you intend to beg me for something?", he mused.

Far from a pinnacle of physical prowess, there had been little Adean or any of her numerous alter egos could contribute in the war itself. Diplomacy, however? Reading people between honeyed words and attempts at civility? Now that was something she could deal with quite handily.

The stiff interfacing of fine fabrics acted almost like a brace for training posture for her slim figure. The sharp lines of gold applique did well to accentuate the elevated status of the name she operated under. With it came the hope - or perhaps determination? - that she'd one day match the garment in actuality rather than simply the role she played.

That determination would remain locked in her own head until the stars burned out, her posture remaining uptight yet relaxed, her presence in the force remaining a perplexing lack of such even before she entered the range of the Ysalamiri. One of two envoys of the Tiss'kar who'd arrived separate from Drazen Lutris Drazen Lutris 's entourage, she cast a quick glance at Zachariah Conway Zachariah Conway as if to say 'Did you know others would be here?'

Taking a shallow breath to stabilize herself, the Epicanthix rolled her shoulders back and strolled further into the room, approaching their allotted side of the table. "Forgive our tardiness. Brassius Zambrano, I'll let my cohort introduce himself. We have been granted leave to hear your proposals by the Tiss'Kar." She paused to let the information sink in and give Zachariah a chance to weigh in, nodding in greeting to both Zarion Threx Zarion Threx and Drazen. "The commands of his imperial majesty, of course, take precedence over any demands we seek."

The Cyborg looked towards The Sith Order delegation as it assembled. His initial attention went to Drazen Lutris, he gave a bow of his head respectfully then replied in his synthetic voice "I am Zarion Threx, Envoy of the Galactic Alliance, and on behalf of the Galactic Alliance I thank you for your presence." he did not address the 'beg' accusation. While Zarion was a new face to the political realm he was well read, and aware, on how the Sith often carried themselves with weaponized arrogance. They thrived on emotions. It was a very clever tactic even outside of combat "Our itinerary is contingent on attendance, Miss Zambrano. I thank you for your willingness to meet and for the Tiss'Kar to send someone of your venerable lineage." he looked towards Zachariah Conway "Well met."

Zarion made a modest conversational gesture while addressing Drazen Lutris "Your Imperial Majesty, we believe it would be in the mutual interest of the Galactic Alliance and the Sith Order to come to satisfactory terms on the Rules of War. While it is not within my mandate to discuss ceasefire nor armistice there is an interest to see minimal civilian casualty as well as damage to planetary infrastructure as I am sure the Sith Order will agree? For what is conquest if not a method of resource consolidation?" the diplomat produced a holoprojector that displayed some visual aids of the terms "The first proposal is to limit fighting in and around population centers exceeding five-hundred thousand biological sentients as per census data. Population centers housing armed combatants not classically determined to be law enforcement personnel not withstanding. Military infrastructure within these population centers may be targeted by low-yield munitions or special operations forces with an emphasis on minimal collateral impact." Zarion turned his metallic head towards the Tiss'Kar "This would establish sanctuary zones to limit destructive bombardments or armed conflict. Thus mitigating invasion related devastation to the benefit of both of our civilizations."

Latens wasn't entirely sure what was going on.

He'd joined Adean Castor Adean Castor at her request as an envoy of the Tsis'Kaar and by extension the Sith Order. He supposed he was technically a ranking member of the Tsis'Kaar considering who his master was, though he'd never confirmed that.

Being stripped of his weapon wasn't something he was overly keen on, although he didn't argue it too hard. They'd been called for a civil discussion and he figured that arguing about being disarmed probably wouldn't be the best first impression.

The young Sith sat quietly whilst everyone spoke. Drazen Lutris Drazen Lutris was also present and his introduction suggested that he was the brother of Empyrean. By that logic, he was some form of relation to the Sith Knight, one he couldn't be bothered to figure out.

There wasn't time to dwell on it before the Galactic Alliance envoy spoke. Latens cast a glance over to him under his helm.

"Clearly, you were not on Woostri" he commented, his voice laced with annoyance. "Destruction and damage didn't seem to cross the minds of the Galactic Alliance then" he spoke. "Many died at the hands of the Alliance. What changed?" he asked with curiosity.

Lirka was a very fluid Sephi. She had been a bounty hunter, mercenary, spice dealer, to a commander and soldier, to a merciless governor, moff, and Grand Moff in those days of the Old Sith Empire. She had become a warlord, pirate, slaver after its fall. She had been dubbed Slavemaster General once the Kainate came to full fruition.

And now, the title had been stripped from her - Lirka had been subsumed into the Ministry of Order. With her…sidegrade promotion Lirka had been offered the pending title of “Administrator of Incarcerations”. Being an administrator came with a certain…regality to it. It had been justification enough for Lirka to present herself as an envoy, in perhaps an odder form than her fellows considering the whirring powersuit over her person - she had been rather adamant about its status as a life support suit to the Eosians. Enough to allow her through as the Ministry’s Envoy - it was pertinent that everything remained within the confines of the “law” of course.

Much to Lirka’s chagrin, she had been disarmed - though she knew that she didn’t need a weapon to cause havoc against this lot. Instead, now befitting her status as a “politician” once more. She had been given an attaché in the form of a…slightly familiar Corellian that she was moderately certain had been Minister Lowe’s aide - Allyson Locke Allyson Locke

Lirka had never much cared for aides and assistants, but alas. Appearances needed to be maintained. Lirka spoke coldly, the slightest regard given for the woman at her side.

“Be sure to take good notes for the dear Minister. This should be a rather…enlightening…meeting.”

With thunderous metal footfalls Lirka made her way to the meeting center where the various envoys had gathered, her arguments with the Vosians had left the Once-Sephi fashionably late.

Or had set her up for a particularly dramatic arrival.

With the words of Zarion Threx Zarion Threx in her ears, Lirka entered the fray with the booming augmentation of her helmet’s vocal modulators, swiftly walking through the doors with the crimson half-cape draped over her shoulder billowing.

“It is ironic that a criminal state seeks to establish rules to contain the orderly and just!”

It was an unfortunate happenstance that Lirka didn’t much believe in dull blades.

Zarion folded his metal hands over one another and tilted his head only a fraction of a degree to the side in order to display a form of bodily expression of curiosity "You are correct. I was not a participant nor an observer of the Invasion of Woostri." he lifted a hand conversationally "My role is to represent the interests of the Galactic Alliance, not to engage in the clash of arms." he put his hand back down "The Galactic Alliance has long sought peace in the Galaxy as well as to alleviate the suffering of the denizens of its constituent worlds. This is shown by many years of successful and peaceful coexistence with a myriad of planetary and interstellar organizations." he paused for a moment then continued in an understanding tone "You see us as an enemy and thus suspect of any actions undertaken."

His attention turned to the woman who had entered and declared the Alliance a 'criminal state' with an even tone "The Galactic Alliance is as much a criminal enterprise as the Sith Order. Under the laws that govern our civilizations neither is guiltless under the scrutiny of the other. Therefore let us dispense with accusations of illegality." he motioned with his head in a nod "I am Zarion Threx, it is a pleasure to meet another representative of the Sith Order."

"Hi, Great-Nephew.", Drazen said - but when Zachariah Conway Zachariah Conway would look to him, he'd realize Drazen had only spoken those words in his mind. The Drazen before him didn't even look over as the others spoke.
"Listen...", Drazen said flatly.
"My uh... friends... here will justify and justify and justify. They'll say the Alliance is some criminal, or they kill so why can't we, or whatever it is. Its the same song and dance every Sith does to be quirky and cute when it comes to talking down to ... you.", he said, motioning lazily to Zarion Threx Zarion Threx .
"But here's the reality, the real crux of this.", he said as he cleared his throat and adjusted his position, almost looking professional and serious for once.
"I don't care about your people. Infact, if It meant the collapse of the Jedi, we would wring the neck of every man, woman, and child of the core to see it done. I would personally gouge out Valery Noble Valery Noble 's eyes just to see an Alliance fleet run out of fuel. Whether we step onto a world of ash or infrastructure isn't our decision to make - It's yours. If you won't surrender... then you'll be punished for it, and your people will take that punishment on your behalf.", he said with a shrug.
"So tell me again why we should hamstring our own war when the Jedi have yet to win a single world from our assaults?"

Arriving as part of a diplomatic team was a strange new experience for the spy. Her face belonged to her, but the weight of her betrayal of the GA would soon be known. Allyson did her best to keep her nerves in check and not let the undercurrent of dread surface. She walked in step with the former Selphi, whom she recognized from the Kainite meeting.

Lirka Ka Lirka Ka addressed the Corellian as they made their way toward the room, a slight smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. "Minister Madelyn Lowe Madelyn Lowe will be informed in detail of everything that occurs here, Deputy Ka." Allyson's voice was laced with a subtle threat. She wouldn't let the Selphi believe they were on the same level or above her.

The door slid open, and Allyson followed in a quiet step. The eyepatch was gone now, revealing the sleek cybernetic beneath. Her eyes quickly scanned the room, registering everyone's presence. Still, it was the Alliance diplomat who caught her attention. They were the unknown variable, someone she hadn't met before. Allyson remained silent, her gaze sharp, waiting.

As Lirka spoke, the corner of Allyson's mouth tugged into a smirk once more. Everyone in the room came with the full weight of the Empire behind them. Yet, standing alone, unshielded, the Alliance diplomat must have felt an eerie isolation. Allyson couldn't help but feel a moment of sympathy for them. The former Jedi recognized standing against an overwhelming force without allies, without any lifeline.

That brief moment of pity vanished as Drazen's voice sliced through the air again. He spoke of the Sith's brutal methods and the lengths they would go to dismantle the Alliance. Her Master's brother's words made Allyson's stomach churn, twisting at the mention of such violence. Still, she showed no outward reaction when Drazen Lutris Drazen Lutris sneered, speaking venomously of what he would do to the Grandmaster of the Jedi and to her people.

Allyson shifted back to the datapad as she continued taking notes, eyes flicking up just enough to gauge the diplomat's reaction to Drazen's words. She wondered if they had any inkling of the firestorm they had stepped into, trying to establish rules of engagement. But this was no place for rules. Not with the Sith. That much was painfully clear.

This was...already not going to plan. Had she not been dedicated to her presentation of class, Adean's face would've met her palm as even more cooks entered the proverbial kitchen. From Zachariah Conway Zachariah Conway 's annoyance-laced words in regards to Woostri, to the booming accusations of Lirka Ka Lirka Ka , to the point blank utter rejection of Drazen Lutris Drazen Lutris , if Adean could cringe into becoming one with the oblivion the leather of her seat she would. A part of her wondered if either Allyson Locke Allyson Locke or their diplomatic adversary felt similar.

"Let's not debase ourselves with accusations so early in, founded or otherwise," she started, casting a pointed look between Zachariah and Lirka. As for the Emperor's brother, well, there was little her words could do about that one. If there was anything she could bring to the table, it would at the very least bring decorum.

"You speak of peace yet what you've brought to the table thus far primarily stands to benefit your lot at present. Surely you have more to offer?" Her innards curdled at essentially rephrasing Drazen's words with a bit more finesse yet there wasn't much more she could do as someone playing at rank more than possessing one. A tongue embossed in silver could only do so much when surrounded by sulfur.

Zarion's attention was firmly on Drazen Lutris, and for moment, the steeled visage of the cyborg slowly gave way to something more ominous as the threat was made in all its gruesome detail. The diplomat shifted his his seat and leaned forward as his head turned to hear the words of Brassius Zambrano. Zarion's attention only briefly being taken by giving a cool nod towards Allyson who had just entered the conference room.

"I see." he said in a flat tone. Zarion looked between the two and straightened up "Your delegation is seemingly under the misguided perception that the Sith Order is immune to the ravages of war or will not fight within the confines of your own territory. This is my fault for forgoing elaboration." the Cyborg motioned around behind him as if speaking of something long gone "The New Imperial Order, the Brotherhood of the Maw, the Dark Empire. Only the Galactic Alliance remains and-" he turned his attention solely to Drazen "will continue to remain long after the yearning of your passions and hunger for war have subsided. The Galactic Alliance, for our talk of peace and unity, is highly accomplished in the theater of war. A history of victories that stretches back since before the founding of your Order's polity. More than once have the Sith faced destruction at the hand of the New Jedi Order and the Galactic Alliance Defense Forces. We require no bluster or self-indulgent descriptions of bodily harm. We are not defenseless. I am not here to meekly request mercy. You will face annihilation, like your precursors, if you so wish it."

Zarion let the words hang there in the starkly "I seek to offer resolutions that are of mutual benefit. Ones that, surely, would align with your Order's want to preserve the populaces and resources they hold dominion over." he canted his head "Surely you are not the nihilistic barbarians like your forbearers in the Brotherhood of the Maw? Surely not." his head dipped forward "If you are then I fear you will meet a similar fate."

The envoy looked to each of The Sith Order's delegation in turn "There. Are we finally ready to dispense with the threats of annihilations and torture? Have I made the position of unrestrained war a tangible reality or do we require another round of threats before we proceed?" he looked towards the Zambrano "I can be very patient."

Sith-Logo.png

"You know, that would almost have merit if we hadn't just destroyed your fleet at Woostri. Sluis Van. Echnos. Sullust...", he said, each planet coaxing a finger to add to the count.

"So this fantasy of 'mutual benefit' only works out to be a mutual benefit if your Alliance manages to get past the Blackwall, and last I checked, they lost a fleet and an army when they tried last. You really mistake me here...", he said flatly.

"I'm not threatening you. I'm telling you asking for us to play nice doesn't make much sense when we haven't lost anything yet. So sure, maybe you'll outlast the Empire... But I don't make deals on hypotheticals. Try again, Diplomat."

"What is it we gain, again?"

Zarion's attention returned towards Drazen as he spoke. The cyborgs hands remained folded and his diplomatic poise seemed mostly undisturbed. No doubt in large part to having no facial expressions to juggle.

"Hollow victories. The Alliance has dealt with losses before and succeeded against our enemies." the envoy motioned towards the rest of the representatives of The Sith Order present "I will not continue to propose restraint whenever it is clear there is no appetite for it."

The cyborg looked down at a datapad he had in his possession and scrolled several times "I can only assume then the treatment of prisoners is of no interest nor channels of communique for the exchange of high profile individuals should they be apprehended. What is the life of one or two against the lives of millions, correct?" then Zarion looked up from his datapad slightly as he glanced at the Sith delegation "Disintegration weaponry? Or is cruelty too indispensable?" he offered a new topic, though it was clear he was ready to move on with it and was only asking out of due diligence "Perhaps your delegation have proposals to contribute?"

Sith-Logo.png

"Hollow victories.", he said with a nod, agreeing.

"But at least we have them.", he continued as he leaned back fully in the chair, leaning with it as he prevented himself from spinning in place.

He continued to nod, as though agreeing, as Zarion Threx Zarion Threx continued through the list of prisoners, prisoner release, the cost of a life, and cruelty.

"Yeah, you're absolutely right. None of that interests me. You guys have anything?", Drazen said, looking over to the others.

Damian du Couteau, Senator of Empress Teta
Objective: Survive the meeting
Outfit

JiGZUcY.png

Why Damian volunteered for this diplomatic mission? The answer was difficult to find even for him as sat and listened to the proceedings. For the most part the young du Couteau heir felt rather amused with both the tone and volatility of the discussion. Spirited and quite direct, he sort of felt disappointed as he was led to believe the Sith were masters of subterfuge and cunning.

I guess a blade to the chest is the same whether behind or from the front.

At least he was rather used to this type of environment, the Senate halls were filled with vipers ready to bare their fangs at the slightest disagreement. He knew a lost cause when he heard the conversation shift towards the discardment of future topics. A pause in aggressive actions for the Sith had the same appeal as being told to stop breathing.

“The Alliance is quite large, in fact we are perhaps the largest organized government in this galaxy since the ancient Republic. Larger than any Imperial or Sith in recent memory, which means a lot of territory to invade.” Damian explained quickly as he gestured to the open air around them.

“Blades become dull due to use and misuse, not while in an unused state. But I recognize the greater issue at hand, so perhaps we instead move the warring efforts unto neutral planets and systems.” He offered nonchalantly. The goal for him was to stall the Sith advancements into Alliance controlled space. Taxable citizenry first of course. The thought pained his heart but he allowed his bitterness to swallow it up.

“You need not to compare yourself to the Maw. Solipsis and his zealots were myopic about their fixation on Tython’s destruction. Impossible to reason and their fire burnt out the same as the new Dark Empire.”

“-You say you wish to not speak in hypotheticals but your legacy could be greater than either mentioned and we here are simply pointing the path the Sith have chosen to once again walk on: towards annihilation like before. But if you disagree, perhaps then you can point out the differences.”
Damian further explained.

Though maybe now Damian had an answer to the question, the Sith here could grant him the sweet release of death here in the room. It wasn’t like the war had suddenly ended before they arrived and it wasn’t uncouth of the Alliance enemies to abuse their good nature for diplomacy. He never considered himself depressed enough to consider the end. He also wasn’t entirely sure what else could come from this meeting that he already couldn’t predict from his office on Fondor.

"Peace was never an option here, we only hope to delay the inevitable. Why? I mean who among us won't fight against destiny a tad? Struggle against the chains linked to the fates , to dream of never repeating history. . . " As we all chase the wind on a windy day.

Lirka could feel the twang of frustration shudder through her bones as Allyson Locke Allyson Locke mentioned she was some mere deputy. She had been called General once. The most feared slaver in all the Kainate…but damnable law and order had gotten in the way. She uttered out a quick, but firm, correction. Titles were all she had at the end of the day.

“Administrator Ka.”

It was unfortunate for dear Locke, that Lirka viewed herself above everyone she hadn’t clashed blades with. And even then…well, Lirka didn’t particularly look overly fondly upon people whose names weren’t “Carnifex” or “Prazitus”

With the comments from Adean Castor Adean Castor and Drazen Lutris Drazen Lutris Lirka took a quick mental note that perhaps law-people weren’t so bold as she had been. It was an odd adjustment from criminal to enforcer, to say the least. Yet, the Once Sephi remained undaunted even after the rebuttal from Zarion Threx Zarion Threx

It’d make for a nice report if nothing else. She met the mechanoid with a nod of her head as she took her seat at the gathering. Speaking with considerably less bluster than before, making the slightest of hand motions towards “aide” Locke for the non-verbal request to write this down.

“I am Lirka Ka, representative of the Sith-Imperial Ministry of Order: Administrator of Incarceration emboldened by Minister Lowe to make sure the happenings here today are within standards of Imperial devotion to justice, law, and order. Some call it debased, some call it “quirky”, and you may attempt to turn the coin Envoy but the baseline is important. Whatever crimes you may accuse us of do not compare to Anti-Imperialism, Fraternization with Jedi, raising of arms against the Emperor, and of course disbelief.”

Admittedly, Lirka only knew the first one was a “crime”. But the others sounded nice.

Curiously did she listened to the back and forth between Drazen and Zarion. Remaining plenty pleased to be wearing a helmet as the amusement that had crept over her face would have been awfully unbecoming. The Emperor evidently had some interesting family. She considered barking against the idea of no Disintegration for the sake of her “friend” Commodore Helix Commodore Helix but considered that silence would be as good as disagreement.

Yet it was the mention of neutral systems from Damian du Couteau Damian du Couteau and prisoners from Thex that brought Lirka to speak again. Both of these were her forte after all. Yet, she offered a quick patriotic correction - appearances and all that.

“The delegate speaks wisdom. To be compared to the Mawites is unbecoming for our stature.-”

Of course, Lirka brushed over the fact that she, for a brief time, had been apart of the Maw.

“-Yet I must correct. Our legacy is already greater. For we are the bastion of order. The blade becomes dull if you do not sharpen it. The delegates mention both prisoners and neutral worlds, such things as my domain.”

Leaning forward, Lirka spoke with the hint of venomous glee behind her distorted words.

“As a judicator of the Empire, I offer you the chance to be privy to ways of the Ministry - prisoners are to work off their sentences as penance for their crimes. So, how should I treat m-, our, laborers, envoy? 3 square meals a day? All of those pretty notions?”

Sometimes, forces of habit sprang up.

“On the matter of neutral worlds, the war against anti-imperialist criminals is an endless one. There are no neutral worlds, merely those who have bent the knee, and those who have not.”

Or in Lirka’s case, those worlds she had been giving the blessing to pillage for the Kainate, and those worlds she didn’t.

And so the delegations of THE SITH ORDER and the GALACTIC ALLIANCE found no common ground among their enemies to dull the blades of GALACTIC WAR.

The next time the banners of THE SITH ORDER and the GALACTIC ALLIANCE meet will not be under the guise of diplomacy but CONQUEST.

Thank you to all those who participated in the Dulling of Blades mission.
