- Durable - Made from a combination of Durasteel-Betaplast Alloy molecularly bonded to Porcelain, giving the material similar properties to heavy durasteel while appearing similar to porcelain at a glance. Furthermore, the alloy contains traces of Animated metal sealant within which slowly seals breaches with a Bronzium infused material.
- High Melting point - Due to it's porcelain properties, Duraporcelain has a higher melting point than durasteel, typically becoming harder and stronger with exposure to heat and therefore heated to perfection during the manufacturing process.
- Plasmatic Weaponry - Similar to it's durasteel components, Duraporcelain possess only limited resistance to energy projectiles, easily damaged or broken by sustained or high power plasma.
- Sealant - The Bronzium-infused sealant was designed to seal breeches in vacuum sealed armor and prevent exposure to the void and does not possess the strengthening properties of typical animated metal sealant.
Duraporcelain was the brainchild of an Atrisian cyberneticist known as "The Dollmaker" who operated out of Coruscant as a prisoner to Apollyon the Betrayer before being rescued by Mandalorians who would go on to form the Black Hand Collective, at which point The Dollmaker would become a business partner.
In those early days on Coruscant, the mysterious atrisian was forced to do unspeakable things in the dimly lit corners of Level 1313, though in the solitude of her makeshift lab, she was allowed to experiment if it meant furthering cybernetic study. Doraporcelain was the result of her secret side project which involved combining various materials which she hoped would capture the nostalgia of certain atrisian artworks while being sturdy enough that they could not be easily broken by her masters. She accomplished this by molecularly bonding broken porcelain with various metal ores, alloys and military plastics until she had the earliest formula for Duraporcelain, which she would later use to produce a prosthetic for one of her patients, a Mandalorian prisoner whom Apollyon had recently amputated.
Seeing that the beauty in her work had lessened the sorrow of her patient, she would go on to make new cybernetics plated in the material once freed from Apollyon, making fine droids and even armor for herself and others from a small workshop on Tatooine. Years later, she was contacted by her old Mandalorian patient with a business opportunity as a means of thanks. Now her work is produced on an industrial scale, feeding new and creative projects across the galaxy.
The latest formula is more durable now, heated to the point of maximum hardness and strength, however it is still slightly brittle compared to durasteel and similar materials. Though it cannot rust like traditional metals, it is susceptible to cracking with enough force. For this reason, the new material contains tiny pockets of bronzium infused animated metal sealant designed to fill in these cracks with bronze or gold colored sealant, taking inspiration from the wise words of her old patient: "A scar should be worn with pride. A scar means I survived". Now these proverbial scars can be worn with an Atrisian touch.
