After the Battle of Eshan, Voph remained within CIS space, and sought to consolidate his forces under a single banner. No longer seeking to champion a wide-reaching force, Voph instead turned his focus to a single target: The marauders responsible for the devastation on Eshan. Voph surrendered control of his forces to the Confederacy, and took a temporary position as Fleet Marshal as he prepared his small navy to become a fearsome xeno-hunting task force.
The Octarch Mk II was designed to fix a minor flaw in the previous design, allowing for a sturdier design at the cost of a smaller frame, while maintaining the agility and firepower of the original. Voph commissioned the Mk II after the conflict with Valdus's forces over the palace of Eshan City illuminated really just how out-matched his fighters were against sturdier vessels. While still not the fastest ships, the often superior numbers and improved defenses should be adequate to ensure a swift and decisive victory in the struggle for air superiority...
