After the Battle of Eshan, Voph remained within CIS space, and sought to consolidate his forces under a single banner. No longer seeking to champion a wide-reaching force, Voph instead turned his focus to a single target: The marauders responsible for the devastation on Eshan. Voph surrendered control of his forces to the Confederacy, and took a temporary position as Fleet Marshal as he prepared his small navy to become a fearsome xeno-hunting task force.
The DX-63 Paladin was commissioned to assist in anti-fighter operations by laying minefields in a defensive perimeter around the Octarchy Capital ships. This is their only function, lacking even the weaponry to defend themselves. As such, they are easy pickings unless escorted by other fighters. The Paladin can carry a payload of Ion or Proximity Mines, depending on the scenario, but must dock with a mothership to exchange loadouts.
