After the Battle of Eshan, Voph remained within CIS space, and sought to consolidate his forces under a single banner. No longer seeking to champion a wide-reaching force, Voph instead turned his focus to a single target: The marauders responsible for the devastation on Eshan. Voph surrendered control of his forces to the Confederacy, and took a temporary position as Fleet Marshal as he prepared his small navy to become a fearsome xeno-hunting task force.
The Mynock Mk II is designed to counteract flaws in the previous design made apparent at Eshan. With the consolidation of Octarchy to a single battlegroup, the budget allowed for the inclusion of a shield generator. Still rather slow for an interceptor, it was deemed passable, considering the above-average squadron counts, and the pilot's abilities to cover for each other. Voph opted to keep the life capsule aspect, as he enjoyed the utility it offered in turning the ship into a last-ditch dumb-fire missile.
