STRENGTHS
  • Vanguard: The Dziri Class Frigate is equipped with enough firepower and hangar space to serve as an independent and long range scout for larger fleet formations. It can hold its own against larger or more numerous vessels long enough for it to get accurate readings of enemy fleet formations or defenses before withdrawing from the fight.
  • Picket Ship: As well as its large sensor suite, the Dziri boasts a large number of point defense laser cannons, allowing the ship to serve as a picket vessel within larger fleet formations, and protect more exposed capital ships from enemy starfighter attacks.
WEAKNESSES
  • Ions?: Unlike most capital ships, the Dziri Class Frigate does not make use of ion cannon weaponry. It is not equipped to be able to disable or weaken enemy vessels in an engagement, and works best on targets with lowered shields.
  • Hangar: While the Dziri has a hangar in the lower decks of the vessel, it is extremely small, with only enough space for a single starfighter squadron. On top of having to rely on its defense cannons to protect it from overwhelming numbers of starfighters, the hangar of the Dziri has a narrow opening, allowing only a single starfighter to enter or leave at a time, extending launch times.
  • Turning: Most weaponry on board the the Dziri Class Frigate are angled forward, requiring the vessel to face its enemies head on. For it to engage ships attempting to flank it, the ship most turn to face them, a process that is considerably slower than other vessels of its size due to the power requirements for the numerous other systems constantly taking emergency power from the thrusters and engines.
DESCRIPTION
The Dziri Class Frigate was designed to fill two specific roles within the Lords of the Sith navy. A picket vessel to protect larger capital ships from enemy starfighters and bombers, as well as a long range scout and patrol vessel for larger fleet formations. Equipped with various shields, heavy weaponry and an extended sensor and communication suite, the Dziri is well equipped to serve the roles it is designed for, as well as serve as a front line combat ship in times of need. These ships work best when deployed in packs of three to five other Dziri, where their combined firepower and hangar capacity can serve to threaten even the largest of enemy capital ships.
