Technical.png

  • Classification: Multipurpose
  • Weight: Heavy
  • Resistances:
    • Energy: Very High
    • Kinetic: Very High
    • Lightsabers: Average
    • Sonic: Very Low
    • EMP/ION: High

  • Composite metal foam is created by putting many hollow metal spheres, in this case Echani Graphite sphere, into a form and then filling the air space between the spheres with another metal, in this case Lunar Silver. The result is a dense, heavy foam. This foam is then placed between a sheets of boron carbide ceramic that has myoflex between it and the foam, and a sheet of ceramisteel, which again has myoflex between it and the foam. The resultant is a composite armor sheet capable of being formed and fitted to any vessel of Corvette size or larger.
Strengths.png

  • Provides excellent resistance to energy type weapons.
  • Provides very good resistance to kinetic weapons (missiles, rail guns, etc.)
Weaknesses.png

  • Minimal resistance to sonic weaponry.
  • Quite heavy, requiring extensive interior framing.
  • Not easy to replace as new panels have to be molded to replace damaged sections. Slapping on a patch isn't feasible.
Description.png

With the acquisition of Overlock Industries by EIC, the company received access to two previous armor types created by the company. In studying them, EIC determined they could improve the effectiveness of the armor by utilizing Echani Graphite and Lunar Silver. The combination of these two materials to create the foam used in the armor sandwich produced much greater effectiveness against energy-based weaponry than the predecessor models while maintaining similar resilience against projectile weapons. The new composite armor was immediately placed in production despite its known drawbacks, such as the weakness to sonic resonance and the necessity for full plate repairs to damaged sections.

The sub overall looks great, but there's a bit of an issue that we need to address before moving on with approval.

An extreme resistance rating will require the armor to be rated either semi-unique or unique, or alternatively what you can do is lower the extreme rating down to very high, and then increase one of your other ratings that are not at very high to keep it at limited production.
