Echani Rise, Cultivating the Flame (Open)

Inner Rim
Thyrsus, Thyrsus System
The City of Ryharess, Inside the Eyes of Time, The Proving Circle.

Pure white perfection. Halls of white upon white decor, and rooms with a singular purpose. Echani design was bold and open to the world, it always had a clear, precise intent. The political center had open glass walls which showed all that happened here, transparent to the public, with nothing to hide by appearance. A warrior race which spoke through action not words. Traditional Echani architecture, with traditional Echani attire, the eyes of time were a flawless execution of both.

Keth here again, 400 years was a long time to hold a grudge, but the Betrayer's memory, that of Raien Keth held strong and true to those who carried it. When a Keth once again set foot inside the capital tempers boiled. Echani did not rashly act, they considered every move, because each subtle action spoke a volume of words, but every aspect of the white uniformed guards shouted out at their tension as Taiden walked past with his entourage.

In the center of Thyrsus, a much more multicultural city than that of some 400 years ago, inside the eyes of time, Echani were gathering. Following another period of uncertainty for this proud people, once again Keth influence brought to bear, pulling the strings of a planet that the Kae had long abandoned, that had no real heroes Taiden knew the name of anymore. It was a diminished planet now with the new homeworld Eshan rebuilt and restored, Thyrsus the Sun Guard's once home didn't have the fire or pull it once had, and somewhere deep down it was calling for more.

Taiden Keth hated his ancestor with every fiber of his being, and was determined to do a better job here than the last Keth Echani general to assume the mantle of Thyrsus's Protector, the serenity of the flame, before he burned that serenity on the streets. Taiden stood representing house Keth, ready to go before a council of mostly mature females, each of them a grandmaster of the blade in their own way, to see what influence he could gain if any by that fire which followed the family name of Keth.

Standing before the grand chamber doors he waited.

Four pairs of white boots halted behind him and stood facing each other, either side of the door way, flanking his entrance, a perfect timing and harmony of purpose. Pushing the doors open either side of him, it began.

Little had changed from what once was, despite this building almost being levelled once. A white, circular room, curled upwards into the heights of a cylindrical debating chamber, dimmed with low, grey lighting; the only things properly visible in detail, were the illuminated figures that stood at its center. Each and every woman or man here with influence stood silent and inside the circle awaiting the turn to speak patiently, the focus of dozens here but thousands or millions planetside.

Around those gathered were a few dozen cloaked in shadow and watching silently, there was a good mix these days of pure echani, thyrsians and other alien species inside the chambers, thanks to House Kae's sacrifices some 400 years previous. Always evident though were the some forty white armored warriors that stood guard, each bearing the fiery emblem of the sun. Violence never really prospered against a people who were born within battle, and so it would be here. Most tellingly though not all were Echani or Thyrsians now guarding the chamber, a tribute to Hana's and Erryn's more tolerant legacy was that the atmosphere was more welcoming overall. Usually!

The most respected female Echani stood to speak, the serenity of the flame, nobody interrupted here because here people didn't heckle, they spoke through action, watching the body language of Taiden much more carefully than his words.

"Son of Keth, your name is known to all as Betrayer. Why do you walk before the proving circle?"

Taiden waited, standing perfectly still, so still the absence of motion was an art form in itself, he drew down deep into that silence. Once again he was insulted just for drawing breath, most insults didn't even register with him, appearance, titles, names they were not things but family, his family name that cut deep. The more angry he was the more silent he became.

"You see Me as the past. That is the problem. You are in the past, you still hang on to old wounds." He let that sink in but clearly his posture said he was not done, it was bold fiery and defiant despite how everyone here saw him.

"When will you bury this, when will you put be able to move beyond your weaknesses and look to what you have now at your very finger tips." The energy in the air, as this betrayer, this wound to their people had the audacity to come before them today and lecture the most important men and women in Thyrsus about how to rule. You couldn't see it from how they reacted, ever reserved and with a certain noble poise, but you could see it in their stance and posture. Half of the Echani here wanted to challenge Taiden right here, right now, only honor and respect for this sacred place was stopping them.

Still open for anyone to jump in!

“Your majesty!”

Spencer pulled off her robes, she already knew the chaos that was going on outside. The woman had never had this much excitement on the planet which inside excited her. There was one with a grudge wanting to pick a fight. If he wanted a fight she would give him one. The woman had taken the seat of the Echani Leader some time ago when her father had decided to head off into deep space and never return. The other leaders were lacking and here she was alone taking the throne as a Halfling. Tossing the robe aside she made her way to where the guards were confronting the youth and with a wave of her hand they separated.

“Interesting, I can feel your anger and frustration. I agree with you on the old and if you’re willing to prove yourself I would gladly accept your challenge. My name is Spencer Jacobs – I am the one that leads the people that you seem to want to prove yourself too.”

A smile crept along her face as she nodded her head slightly, giving the man some of the respect he deserved. It took strength to stand up to a society, it too more strength to believe and here he was.

“Betrayer again interesting. So what do you say? Challenge or do you wish to act civilized and we can discuss your ideals to better the Echani as a whole?”

Pure silver eyes narrowed to focus, bringing the gravity of his attentions to bear. Apart from that, Taiden Keth didn't move, not even the slightest movement betrayed his thoughts, for a race who read from motion he didn't hear the words so much as study the Queen's gesture. The words were for the non Echani watching this, not his people, he studied how bold she was, how strong in her step and confident to act. That direct, strong action to challenge him, gave him volumes to go on about who he faced, while he betrayed as little as possible, not showing his hand.

What was the most advantageous move to make, how could he use this.

"An Echani fighting an Echani for a Thyrsian seat?" There it was, one chink in the armor. He didn't insult her by calling out a mix heritage, that wasn't the plan unless it had to be used, he played the opposite card. Instead turning to the most senior Thyrsian's present and addressing them in his reply.

There were a couple of glances returned from the darker skinned, male Thyrsians, wearing their bold emblem of the sun like a badge of honor. Small glances which broke their perfect poise for a moment and shouted to an Echani in their body language, that he'd gained a few people's attention. Not many, but a few. This was a planet that had, at one time, put Echani against Echani in the form of the Sun Guard, an emblem they still carried in their history to this day, a male Thyrsian order, establishing their culture here.

"I hear the term civilized a lot these days. What does it mean?" There was no smile, it was a deadpan question. The second chink in an armor he was here to pull apart for his own ends, not her armor, this government. Spencer could either find a very strong ally here, or a very cunning manipulative rival. It all depended on how she would answer this, warrior to warrior, all eyes turned to her once more.

(( Seeing as this started nearly the same time as the attack on the Senate building ima be injured for this as im placing it after that event))

Yusan leaned on the cane he had bought recently due to his injuries after the terrorist attack on the Senate building. Though all the major damage had been healed he still had to heal slowly for the minor damage and due to already exhaustion due to his over use of the force during that attack he walked slowly and needed that cane to stay standing. It wasnt so bad though, his robes had been repaired and his new armor remained better hidden than before due to its dark color which blended with the dark robes he wore over the armor. The one piece of said armor he did not have on was the helmet which he say no need to wear at the time seeing as this was just a council meeting. His saber now hung at his side, there was no need to hide it anymore as everyone knew the Echani senator owned it and he made no attempt to even hide that fact.

As Keth introduced himself and the queen responded Yusan remained near the back of the council off to the queen's right. He would barely be noticeable unless someone searched out for him and he seemed to be meditating while they talked. And why not a better time, meditation cleared the mind, and if he was called on he would need that clear mind to serve him.
