ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • CyroGenic Reserve Powercell Banks and redundant power circuitry: While many starships have back-up power, the Echoy’la Sun has an abnormally large number of reserve cells designed to quickly move through alternate power circuits to most of the ship's systems in case ionization or energy-draining attacks disable these systems.
  • Atmospheric Warship: As with the original CC-9600, the Echoy’la Sun was designed with atmospheric performance in mind through the use of retractable maneuvering fins that improve stabilization and improve atmospheric responsiveness.
  • Auxiliary Battle Bridge: While the Echoy’la Sun is normally commanded from the command tower rising up from its port side which provides its users with good visibility of the battlefield, it also has a secondary bridge closer to the bow and on the starboard side that is less prominent (and thus less vulnerable) to many opponents.
  • 220-SIG Tactical Sensor Jamming Devices: The Echoy’la Sun has multiple 220-SIG Sensor Jamming emplacements which have some overlapping fields, making it a fairly capable ECM platform for jamming sensors and communications devices.
  • Ranger Subspace Transceiver with Comm Unit booster: This augmented communications device was designed to allow the Echoy’la Sun to communicate with friendly forces even through its own broad-spectrum communication's jamming, but it can be similarly effective at piercing through opposing communications jamming, especially if the opposing jamming platform is relatively far away from the frigate.
  • KL-44 Commander Shield Projector network: All three of the Echoy’la Sun's shield layers are entirely composed of KL-44 Shield Projector networks, which allows the Echoy’la Sun to provide additional shielding to multiple nearby, friendly ships.
  • A Second Home: The Echoy'la Sun's internals have been significantly remodeled far from the spartan military quarters originally found on the ship. Several bulkheads have been taken down to create larger rooms for the ship's crew and the interior decorations have become much more home-like. Additionally, nearly a dozen quarters have similarly been converted as 'guest quarters' which have limited console access to the rest of the ship and have surreptitious security in the forms of hidden holocams and built-in weapons scanners. For less pleasant guests, the Echoy'la Sun also has a carbon-freezing chamber to immobilize more dangerous "guests". On more pleasant notes, the Echoy'la Sun has a high-end autochef and fully stocked galley which can provide the crew with sumptuous meals. Additionally, several rooms have been modified to include sim-vacation technology as well as flight holosimulators, allowing the Echoy'la Sun's passengers an opportunity to experience a vast variety of different environments as well as practice flying a variety of small craft.
  • Smuggling Compartments: The Echoy'la Sun has a number of smuggling compartments discretely spread throughout the ship. These compartments are lined with neuranium to help shield their contents from sensor scans and disguised compartment entry doors are activated by comlink-broadcasted codes.
  • Expanded Cargo Holds: Almost half of the ship's original troop quarters has been turned into cargo space, providing the ship with almost 20,000 metric tons of cargo space - almost the same as many smaller bulk freighters.
  • Multiple Transponders: The Echoy'la Sun has been equipped with multiple transponders, allowing the frigate to take on multiple identities as the situation requires.
  • Internal Park: One of the areas which housed troops has had its bulkheads removed and been turned into a park. Through the use of advanced climate control settings and hydroponic lines, it has been possible to partially replicate two environments on Mandalore. A cool, temperate zone includes small Galek trees, Amber Ferns, and a number of root vegetable clusters. Another zone replicates a warm tropical area, complete with Varos trees, Vormur flowers, and several tropical fruit-bearing plants. A winding running path connects both zones through this dense, artificially foliaged area. This park thus serves to provide both a place of relaxation for its crew as well as some fresh foodstuffs. It is sometimes used as a training area as well, especially by those who have not been off the ship in a while.
STRENGTHS
  • Excellent Defense: The Echoy'la Sun has been retrofitted with multi-layered shielding as well as retaining its original reinforced hold, making it highly durable in combat.
WEAKNESSES
  • Unreliable: The Echoy'la Sun has been heavily modified from its stock form by a variety of mechanics and outlaw techs, meaning that the quality of the modifications varies somewhat nor have do these modifications always work the best in conjunction with each other. Unfortunately, system glitches occur far more commonly than a standard starship and even a few hits from weapons at a certain section of the ship may knock out some of these rickety systems offline with far less effort than should be normal.
DESCRIPTION
The Echoy'la Sun is a Gurrcat 9600-class Heavy Frigate that fell into the hands of Jhira Mereel and her Mandalorian survivor comrades. Over the years, it has undergone a plethora of modifications that have turned the Sun into not only a more formidable warship, but a sanctuary for her people as well. In terms of combat ability, the Sun sports extra shield generators and electronic warfare modules- making it much more difficult to destroy - as well as a single starfighter squadron which typically are Peth Pinooks or Trill T-wing II Missile Boats. Expansion of the ship's hangar has also allowed it to carry a variety of support craft, ranging from typical transports like Grek Gladiators, G Type Shuttles, and Delta Escort Shuttles to industrial mining vessels like Y-8s and AEA-500s. But the Sun's interior living arrangements are probably the most interesting changes to the base design. Much of the interior space once occupied by the ship's onboard combat troops has been replaced with luxurious cabins, greatly increased cargo space, smuggling compartments, and even a park that replicates parts of Mandalore itself. A ship as unique as its captain, the Echoy'la Sun seems likely to ply the spacelanes for many years to come.

This is a very cool ship, a very nicely made and detailed submission! However I found two problems:
  • Please link the CorelliSpace to the Manufacturer.
  • And just like before, you need Reshmar's permission to use his arts. Please link the permission to the submission.

Good catch on the company not being linked. That has been corrected.
  • And just like before, you need Reshmar's permission to use his arts. Please link the permission to the submission.

The previous Gurrcat 9600-series Heavy Frigate submission did not need Reshmar's explicit/formal permission to use his art.

Looking at the Factory rules, the closest thing I see is this:

  • All submissions utilizing images or music must contain a link to a source where the image or musical piece can be found. If the art is member-created, credit the member. No member may "claim" an image or musical piece unless they created it themselves.

Can we clarify with John Locke John Locke that we're going to start expecting formal permissions for artwork use?
