Trademarks:
Tatum has been referred to all of his life as a ‘pretty boy’, which does not sit well with him especially when pretty does not fall in line with the machoism of the arena he works in, an alien endowment too easily used derogatorily. The truth is that although Tatum does have beautiful features and the title fits, there is a rugged, mischievous edginess about him, and that is in fact the quality that draws people to him. His drawing blue eyes teem with playfulness, and the lines of his face make it seem like he was made to smile.
Not to mention the elephantine stature he's growing into (albeit a mild awkward metamorphose as a teenager with his body taking some time to grow into itself), towering in height with an athletic build Tatum can appear quite imposing, especially with the handsome coalition of both a stature owning of noble upbringing and the swagger of a smuggler who thinks they’ve seen and know it all. Tatum has been out to prove something ever since he left home but he is in for a big surprise.
: Personality:
Overview:
Tatum is very forthcoming; his virile allure is undeniable. He is a quick-witted, wily individual, able to charm or incite almost any acquaintance with ease. Although he exudes cockiness, he’s quite a down to earth and warm person upon getting intimately acquainted. He can tend to sometimes seem lost in his curiosity of fleeting fascinations; borderline attention deficient and hyperactive. Yet he seems to always find a way to ready himself when the need comes and is very assertive. He evokes the maturity and energy of a teenager and has a twisted sense of reality. He doesn’t believe in the odds ever being against him and is certain he’ll be able to figure a way out of any situation, which he usually does. Tatum develops affection for others slowly and is not a fan of open sentimentality, his true feelings are often guarded and portrayed indifferently. That is not to say he isn't sociable and doesn't humor the foolishness of others, but the joke's on them.
Pitfalls and Pinnacles:
Whatever Tatum does, he does it big. Well beyond the simple philosophies of joie de vivre, he is a full-blown hedonist who outfits himself in the finest clothes, concerns himself with the latest technologies, and generally manages to live a life of decadence and excess. Whether it comes to food, racing, drugs, drinking, or sex, Tatum likes to have it whenever he feels like it, and he likes to have it to an extreme degree. Ashla, his Jedi Master, realized this extremist behavior early on and believed if it could be tempered into something more of a serene commitment, it would be the defining factor in Tatum one day becoming a very powerful figure in Galactic affairs, and a catalyst for uniting the very chaotic Jedi Order. Yet instead she magnified his aloof demeanor with her bohemian tendencies, and the behavior suggestive of his royal lineage was hard to abrade. It is not unlikely that many of his behaviors were influenced by his father's own conduct in such manners.
Tatum exists for his own sake, believing that one shouldn't sacrifice themselves for others. The systematic disappointment, neglect, and abuse he suffered throughout his childhood could be said to be the roots for most of his uncompromising philosophies, anti-authority sentiments, and his self-portrayal as openly arrogant, insensitive, mischievous, and consciously manipulative. Yet his seemingly inadvertent heroic tendencies betray that he once was, and still could be a nurturing, warm, and whole.
Tatum has trouble getting too close to people and can oftentimes not only appears selfish and uncaring but means to appear in such a way. He seems to want everyone to believe he's amoral and insensitive as a point he needs to overstate to himself. This macho façade probably originates from his fractured relationship with his own family. He seems to hold on loosely to those few he cares about until he’s about to lose them, but is in actuality very strong-willed and extremely protective over them as much as for the ideas and things that have taken prominence in his life, and will resort to dangerous and seemingly impossible actions if he is provoked. Tatum has great confidence in himself, to a fault, but it is not so much a belief in himself as an inability to see the possibility of danger.

Overview:
Among one of Tatum’s top skills is piloting and biking, from his early days on Serenno, he would take out his father’s luxury speeders and liners when he was barely eight. He exhibited a raw and natural inclination to it, an innate way of knowing and a clever improvisation the way some pilots strive all their careers to attune to.
He moved onto a more formal physical honing and force training in his short stint at the Jedi Order. Despite his Master's encouragement for him to be still, and calm under the hum of the Thousand Fountains, he was more focused on the proactive, aggressive, and present-minded rote martial training, and combat aspects of the Order. His progress was dizzyingly swift as it was considerable; he had a strong command of the force and honing his faster than light reflexes he became an exceptional pilot and a very promising duelist, always being the last student to hold out in his Alchaka ritual.
However, when the force left him, he left the Jedi Order. To defend himself and guarantee his stake, he relies on his dead-eye aim with a blaster pistol, his quick wit, and charm. Due to Tatum’s very vacillating nature, he goes on board of dedicating himself completely to learning something, investing all his time and energy, almost obsessively, only to find he's lost complete interest and has moved on to something new in mere weeks, if not days or hours. In this way he has become a dilettante in various skills such as security, stealth, repair, and demolitions.
:Force Powers:
Subtleties:
Tatum was proficient in the Core Powers during his training as a Jedi and was outfitted with the knowledge of all the principles of the basic Force Skills, as well as always having been marked by the grace of having the Force behind him growing up. When the Force abruptly deserted him, it was a complete disconnection that left him reeling. Tatum can now hardly see through the force and has no command over it.

:Character History:
Tatum Eclipse was born to House Demici, one of the six great houses of Counts, on Serenno in an especially chaotic era in the galaxy. He was born to parents who left most of their children's care to the staff. Tatum's childhood was very fast-paced, being scooped from one event to the next and shifting between all the lessons and activities a young nobleman was expected to attend. But Tatum had a hard time sitting through all this, and always posed whoever was caring for him a challenge.
He was born when his brother Cassus was 2. His brother became a makeshift father for him and practically raised Tatum as if he was his own.
Tatum and Cassus were plagued with tragedy in their childhood. A father who expected a lot, a mother who was distant and depressed, and a predatory Uncle, the Demici boys took refuge with their grandfather Eres but he was soon taken from them in an assassination plot.
Next, their mother went missing in a yachting accident. Whereas Cassus, his brother, busied himself in studies and training in the Royal Guard, Tatum lost himself in hedonism and chaos. Experimenting with contradicting the droids of his estate’s social input, betting with his friends as he got older, and then eventually taking his father’s valuables and having joyrides in his most expensive transports across star systems. He began drowning in a world of cold self-reliance, his boyish antics took a turn into disturbing ventures into drinking, drugs, sexual promiscuity at a grossly young age, and dangerous street racing. He walked on the edge of a self-harming lifestyle. His brother Cassus was the sole parental figure who watched out for him and tried when he could to dissuade Tatum's dangerous predilections.
After the tone on Serenno took a dark turn on the ever-encroaching Sith, his father petitioned the Jedi that if his brother should be taken to be trained, so should Tatum. Ashla Lai, the Jedi Watchmen in that sector of space feared Tatum was not a wise candidate for the life of a Jedi and was too resistant for training. But Tatum and his brother were strong in the force, however, Tatum's use of it had been more out of touch than his brother's.
Tatum spent the next few years initializing his training as a Jedi. Yet Tatum's boyish exuberance could never be completely contained, and his boldness and reckless endeavors in the academy helped him become somewhat of a star in his year. Despite this, his prospective future in training looked bright. But just as he began to take a real step towards self-actualization (with a few escapes and disciplinary actions on record), another tragedy occurred. Tatum discovered his father was killed by the Sith on Serenno and soon after learning this news Tatum was cut off from the Force. His Uncle Kaiafas took up the new role of Count for the family with both brothers and heirs gone.
His training had ended just as it was really picking up. The resolve he was beginning to muster on Coruscant fell apart, something his Uncle had all along made him view his attempts of becoming a Jedi as a passing distraction for the inevitable doom of Tatum's nature. Returning to Serenno against the advice of Cassus and the Jedi, his trust fund a looming possibility. He entered University, but his classes went most often neglected, his family's money the only thing ensuring his good grades. As he grew older he reverted back to his buccaneering days but on a more sweeping scale, traveling to various systems to gamble and drink, losing himself in the senseless bustle of the nightlife, turning to drugs and sex again as a way to self-medicate. His Uncle, who filled the role of Count was content to allow Tatum to accept this destiny, to a point.
His Uncle needed him kept away from defaming the House of Demici. On the condition of receiving his trust, he would have to accept the role of the representative of the Bank of Demici on Denon. The bank, created by his grandfather in the era of Chaos to help secure the galaxy from certain doom, was a wellspring of wealth and prestige for the family.
Tatum made the decision to move to Denon where he would be free from the hounding of his family, the Jedi, and the Sith. Similarly, his Uncle no longer had to worry about Tatum's interference as he made sure the actual administrative work would get done by others hired to make sure Tatum didn't ruin anything. Tatum liked the allure of Denon's grandiosity, it was among the largest adult arcades the Galaxy had to offer, but not so overhyped as Coruscant, it was somewhere that seemed to hold to a promise to help you forget your troubles.
Tatum soaked it up and fell deeper into a pit of ignoring his responsibilities, he spent his days sleeping and his nights throwing large soirees, and under the alias of Eclipse, attending underground drug parties posing as art exhibits, exploring the underground art and youthquaker scenes meeting scores of odd characters including Yhemi Saye a Sephi model who was also finding her own way away from her role as Magna Industries heiress on Nubia. But no single scene nor many of these people stuck for very long, they were like trends being outgrown by the month. Friends came and went, but several people stuck. One among them a former Mandalorian Merc named Kosto Bralor that Tatum met in his earlier explorations of the galaxy.
Kosto was a devoutly loyal friend who became somewhat of a second brother to Tatum. He was the only person he met in social circles with whom he would actually share the fact that he was once a Jedi. Tatum learned a lot about the Mandalorians from Kosto, and became intrigued with them for a long while, learning some of their battle techniques and fighting maneuvers.
A previous seedy partner of Kosto's that ran in the same circles was a Feeorin smuggler named Feln. No one particularly liked the alien, but they tolerated him for the notches in his belt for bypassing the law and his detailed accounts of unusual sexual achievements.
If Kosto was an older brother, Yhemi became somewhat of a younger sister that Tatum was very protective over. She was a wild girl and a wilder pilot who often got herself in trouble with swoop gangs that she would always come to Tatum for help in dealing with in favor over Kosto who would afterward upbraid her. Tatum paid for everything seeing as Yhemi was cut off, Kosto was broke and Feln was cheap. The time with which his savings were eaten away was perhaps something of a record in Galactic history.
Tatum had a much more impersonal friendship with Feln on the other hand. They spent more time together than he did with Kosto, but their friendship was much more action than talk or casual fun. Feln knew that Tatum was the ‘pretty boy from the Outer Rim’, but nothing about his heritage or his past in the Order. In time Tatum would come to value Feln and his abilities and contacts as a smuggler. Tatum was living a very comfortable life at his family's expense, but he found he was frittering away the inheritance his grandfather had amounted him, but it didn't bother him until there was barely anything left. After a short conversation with his Uncle, he found himself cut off upon his refusal to agree to his father's terms of changing his life. He would have to take his appointment at the bank more seriously if more money was to be granted to him.
His brother Cassus who had tracked him down would send the occasional plea for Tatum to return to the Jedi and work on his reconnection to the Force, or at the very least live a more respectable safe life.
Jedi ethics slipping off his back, Tatum went to Feln for help. Feln taught him the ropes, less for Tatum's need of money than for his fascination of the trade while Feln taught Tatum how to fire a blaster, but not for the sake of bonding. Feln needed Tatum to have his back on deals gone awry and other tight situations, especially after fighting with all of his other partners and driving them off. Tatum was just up for the thrill of it, and Feln appreciated the fact that Tatum seemed to have a lucky streak about him. The four of them formed a little coterie along with ‘The Machine,’ an astromech droid who was very much the heart of their operations. Overtime, tensions between Kosto and Feln grew however, Yhemi was more interested in her social life and Kosto would be called off to take care of personal matters.
In his free time Tatum drank like a fish, and experimented with stimulants and spice, but nothing stuck. He was always looking for a thrill, a new chase. Feln moved out with Tatum to Denon from Nar Shaddaa, where, through their savvy business in smuggling, afforded a modest flat in a trendy, upcoming spot of town. On Coruscant, they built up their clientele, they started with spice, which was the easiest way to break into the industry and build a reputation for yourself, but began smuggling Class Two merchandise; modified weapons and illegal technology. They're still looking to further their notoriety and attract big clients. That's not to say that they haven't experimented in other odd-end jobs when business was slow.
His reality of years of drowning himself in sexual promiscuity, drug abuse and life threatening jobs were distractions to placate his emptiness and loneliness, but not many considered him to have that depth. They only saw the challenges of invincibility as a lack of intelligence and hunger for a shallow satisfaction- few considered this challenging of death and life as a way to feel something, anything to help him feel alive or as a reason to keep living after having been shaped into a creature of extreme self-reliance, something encouraged by the Serenno political scheme as well as his father, and selfishness.
