The weapon was requested by Ecthelion Aiglos after his promotion to Exarch in the elite Household Guard of the Benevolent Immortal Emperor of the Eternal Empire. It was a rare kind of weapon, only awareded to the best combatants of the Knights of Zakuul. Hence why it feautres such special materials and excellent craftsmanship. The weapon would allow a Knight not only to fight as an individual with an ordinary lightsaber, but also inside a formation of Knights.
The telescopic or collapseable hilt has in its ordinary stage the size of an ordinary lightsaber, possible to be wielded with one hand or with two hands, for duels and close quarters. The second stage features a larger hilt for the two-handed usage, equally possible to be used in duels or actually to be used as a truncheon. The last stage makes the weapon a lightsaber pike, a long hilted staff weapon. It dramatically increases its range and allows for a rather uncommon combat style. Not ignited the last stage also offers the possibility to use the weapon as a staff to knock out enemies.
