OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
SETTING INFORMATION
  • Military Base Name: The Spiral Castle.
  • Classification: Fort.
  • Location: JanFathal.
  • Affiliation: Lunafreya Solidor New Imperial Order.
  • Population: Heavy, the Spiral Castle is a huge construction that can house up to seven thousand troops, two thousand security personal inside the castle, a thousand servants, up to three thousand guests, five hundred medium size animals, thirty large sized animals, forty medium size animals, stables for mounts, a thousand prisoners, forty ground vehicles, twenty four starfighters, three shuttles and two escape pods.
  • Demographics:
  • Accessibility: The center of public power in all the planet, the Spiral Castle is the de facto power that rules all the planet. Built on top of the ruins left by the Muuns old center of power, the Duchess built a monstrous display of her beauty, power and arrogance. Using Ugnaughts' almost slave labor, the whips didn't stop cracking until the work was finished. Only for the Duchess to clog her magnanimous work with works of art taken by the New Imperial Order in her conquests to neighboring planets. Accessed only by a three kilometer long bridge where nine full grown Rancors could ride side by side called the Long Bridge, made of duracrete, carbonite and permacrete mixture. Strongly guarded by guardhouses located at each kilometer, its defenders only allow entry to those with proper clearance, those that don't are offered the chance to go back or jump, only to find around this bridge the Eternal Abyss, where it falls through absurd depths, surrounding the mountain and meeting the shores where lies the deepest and widest river on the entire planet. Flying to the fortress proves to be as dangerous as traveling across the abyss, because from behind the castle sweeping winds fly so strong that only the most experienced pilot in the galaxy can sail through them. Even those who fly along the bridge face turbulence, and were it not for the gravity adjusters on the bridge surrounded by a temporal control shield, the soldiers who guard the bridge themselves would suffer from falling off it. When crossing its entire bridge are the Triple Mouths, where three gates each in a location are found and strongly guarded by the Triple Walls, made of turandium composition. The gates are of almost strategic creation, the first is located in the center of the fortress, while the second on its extreme left and the third on its right. Because the low walls surrounding them are electrified, climbing their walls becomes a deadly and failed attempt. Between each of the gates, guard houses and access to the castle's culverts are found. Areas covered by dense forests, paved by only isolated roads and buildings, areas where animals 'almost' domesticated still roam for the Duchess's pleasure. The first level is called the Nexu Level, due to the presence of animals roaming the area and is said to be a nasty place where the fools are sure to die, the second is called the Cannok Level due to the presence of cannoks in the swamp like area, where they are constantly fed by the castle and constantly assaulted by them. The third level, is something only the gods allow it to exist, for its called the Nightstalker Level, and were it not for the electrified durasteel bars separating the castle and the woods on this level, the Duchess would surely sleep with one eye open. For the Maalraas stalk in packs in this level and they prey on her most foolish soldiers whenever they get the chance, or off course, when she sets prisioners as treats for her 'pets'. Laughing as they run.
  • Description: A construction built to last the trial of time, by raising its buildings with different materials such as impervium briddles, duracrete buildings, ferrocarbon walls and the smallest amounts of neuranium to be scattered in some very few parts of the castle, causing some parts inside Edoras to cause most scanners in the vicinity to malfunction. A superb and beautiful work, made in the fashion of the Duchess's people, this colossal castle is surrounded by lush courtyards, flower gardens, a small wood where prayers to the Duchess's gods are made, with only three known entrances (and a veiled one). The most common is that of the servants who go around the entire castle and are located on its extreme left side, leading directly to the pantry and their kitchens. The one on the right is the one that leads to the arsenal, the private forge and the barracks of the lady's palace guard, and the one in its center, are two huge turadium doors, sculpted by the best artisans in the galaxy with images of mythical beauty and full of fable. Crossing them, you enter the entrance with staircases and doors on all sides, some of them even with traps, only known for the castle's staff, but climbing its golden staircases are the doors that lead to the Hall of a Thousand Colors, where your The ceiling is studded with the glass of a thousand nations and a thousand colors, allowing itself to be bathed in sunlight and illuminating the room with an almost poetic beauty. The great hall has two levels, the second being accessed only by the labyrinthine corridors of the castle where Princess Elzeri's private palace guard is always on the prowl, waiting for any gesture to be summoned, and above a nine-step platform is a blood red umbaran glass chair with a black pillow for comfort. On its walls are portraits of the works of art of the planets taken by the NIO, taken by the princess as 'spoils of war'. The upper levels of the castle have several private audience chambers, luxurious balconies, private training areas, two meditation chambers, saunas, rooms with waterfalls falling from the ceiling, a greenhouse, two workshops, a small research laboratory, elegant rooms for guests and rooms without internal locks for 'hostages'. At the highest level, Lunafreya's private rooms occupy the top three floors of the castle, there are no elevators accessible to the public, the only one leaves the Duchess's rooms and takes her where she has an interest in going, the rest of the people being forced to cross its tortuous endless stairs, herds of tailrings fly freely around the castle and they are said to be the joy and pride of Lunafreya, the mountain is filled with avian predatory wild life, as many other smaller peaks lie behind its grounds, where all sorts of avian wildlife and can be found, and also a great deal of predators, causing the very of flying over it to be very unadvised, especially since rumors of the hidden chamber where Sunfyre sleeps became quite the talk at the local taverns. As for below of all this glamour can be found the lower levels, far below the pantries and kitchens, there are safes (some filled with traps, others empty and others filled with riches), an absurd number of jail cells, surveillance rooms, torture chambers and a private hangar where there is an emergency shuttle in case the Duchess wishes to leave without being seen. This one, staying shortly after what the servants learned to called "Pet Cave", where a huge natural cave serves as home for "Precious" Naasla, guardian of her last exit from her own colossal trap. And far below it all are the Harlaw Sewers, clogged with horrendous creatures like the cthon, ogres, anakkonas, gorryl slugs, wyyyschokk, hssiss infest its tunnels to the point where no one that goes there comes back alive.
POINTS OF INTEREST

  • HALL OF A THOUSAND COLORS - This room can be considered the center of the center of power in the planet, the ceiling is studded with the glass of a thousand nations and a thousand colors, allowing itself to be bathed in sunlight and illuminating the room with an almost poetic beauty. Built to be one of the most majestic halls in the galaxy.
  • GRACEFUL APARTMENTS - Lunafreya's private rooms occupying the top three floors of the castle, there are no elevators accessible to the public, the only one leaves the Duchess's rooms and takes her where she has an interest in going, the rest of the people being forced to cross its tortuous endless stairs, herds of tailrings fly freely around the castle and they are said to be the joy and pride of Lunafreya.
  • EMERGENCY EXIT - A private hangar where there is an emergency shuttle in case the Duchess wishes to leave without being seen. This one, staying shortly after what the servants learned to called "Pet Cave", where a huge natural cave serves as home for Naasla, guardian of her last exit from her own deadly trap. The cave is connected to the sewers and underground tunnels, waterfalls run through this cave endlessly causing it to be perpetually taken by the noise of water falling down.
  • RIVER OF DEATH - The river surrounding the Spiral Castle is not a place for anyone to go swimming or even sail a ship. The river is crawling with vicious keelkanas, dragonsnakes and other predatory aquatic creatures. This is one of the deepest rivers in all the planet, deep enough for bogs and swamp like islands to cover its extension, surrounding the castle in beautiful lushly green colors.
  • HARLAW SEWERS - The only place that actually takes up for the name of its architect. The sewers are one of the worst places in the entire planet, not only for being formed by caves carved as endless tunnels that interconnect in an almost infinite series of combinations, but also because they harbor predatorial creatures of dark fury such as the cthon, ogres, anakkonas, gorryl slugs, wyyyschokk, hssiss. Always hungry, always attentive, these 'defenders' protect the tunnels and rarely let their prey escape to the point that the service dedicated to cleaning the tunnels was previously dedicated to organic soldiers but the losses of entire platoons caused them to leave only the droids that they rarely find their way back. The castle guards feed the creatures of the tunnels at a safe distance by order of the Duchess, but even that doesn't save them from finding death on every corner. If the exit is found, the tunnels lead directly to the castle's dungeons, a place filled with automated laser traps.
  • THE BLACK CELLS - Countless numbers of cells can be found in the castle. Some say that 3,000 prisoners can be locked up and forgotten in the depths of Lunafreya fortress, others say 5,000. They are floors and floors of very little light, where each of its cells made of turadium are equipped with poison gas ducts and automated laser traps. The interiors of the cells are cold and damp, perhaps due to the proximity to the castle sewers. Within each cell, darkness reigns absolute and it is only when the small entrance to feed its prisoners is opened that some light is seen by the prisoners. His guards are said to patrol the floors with nightstalkers at his side, but that remains inconclusive. At its lowest level there is a locked turadium door that goes down a narrow almost infinite staircase to the castle's sewers.
  • ETERNAL ABYSS - Below the Long Bridge lies the Abyss. In a fall of almost six thousand meters from a height, falling from it is practically the same as being considered dead. The Abyss is considered a notorious home for fierce creatures like krayt dragons and large packs of akk dogs, causing it to be scarcely patrolled, also due to the fact that the only way back to the Bridge is going through the Abyss and its desert like valley all the way back to the cities, since flying towards the castle is considered a unwise idea.
  • GENERATOR CHAMBER: Located a few levels above the Black Cells. The generator room is filled with NIO-06 turrets, as well as smart mines and plasma mines all around its grounds. This one of the most protected and guarded places in the entire castle, where the generator lies in eneagon shaped area with nine corridors that lead to its only entrance (and exit), equipped with laser gates, automated laser traps, laser webs, ducts on its walls to release toxic gas in case of a invasion.

SECURITY

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Spiral Castle is a project that came from one of the old drawings made by Lunafreya as a child. When she still dreamed of a fortress of her own and had filled a notebook with very detailed pictures of how she wished it were one of the countless projects for her center of power and arrogance. The construction proved to be an architectural work of a colossal size, where she used Rodrik Harlaw, an architect renowned throughout the galaxy who had worked for his people in the past. He was given one of his drawings and the wish that his dream was fulfilled.

The work was done by slave labor by the few humans who had remained in JanFathal, paid from the funds of the imperial army but kept secret from their imperial masters. His work was completed in a tight schedule and Rodrik joined its 'celebrations', where on its last day of work Lunafreya filled its sewers with horrendous creatures and trapped human slaves in their depths to ensure that no secrets of that Castle were ever to survive, as well as to test whether there was any way out of Edoras that she still didn't know about it. Their screams are said to haunt her sewers, where hideous beasts dwell while the Duchess of JanFathal rests in luxury above their bones, almost rejoicing at the sound of this macabre lullaby.

Hi! I'll be reviewing your submission. I am a judge-in-training so this will require secondary approval.

This is a nice sub, although there are some things we'll need to work through before I can stamp it. Let's get into it!

1. Permissions

2. Demographics
  • A lot of what is listed here either is or could easily double as security and should therefore be moved to the Security field. Demographics are in reference to the sentients that live in the fort, so for example here you could make mention of the soldier to servant ratio, or the most common species found across those who call the Spiral Castle their home.

However, the links to the specific units and droids that are stationed here and could either defend the fort or be deployed from it, should be listed in Security. The same goes for the animals. If they are here for other reasons, then I think its okay to keep them in demographics but if they are trained/can otherwise be used in a battle scenario, then they would be better listed in security. The Ground Vehicles should definitely be moved to security.

Looks good! However, I noticed another thing that'd I'd like to mention before passing this on:

  • In the Description, you added:
With Neuranium composition inside its walls, Edoras is a place that makes all scanners malfunction when inside the castle.
In the wookieepedia article it is stated that Neuranium has gravity-warping effects. The amount of Neuranium that would be needed to cover this massive fort is bound to have some form of gravitational effect.
However in order to cover a space as large as a cargo hold, it would be prohibitively heavy and thus inefficient to use. Neuranium was so dense that some gravity-sensitive species noted its warping of the space-time fabric of gravity itself that a large piece created.
I'd recommend you address this if you wish to have this element present in the fort's structure, either by adding some kind of gravitational phenomena or describing the means by which this influence is countered.
