Nathan Bloodscrawl
House Bloodscrawl Patriarch
OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
This model of Droid was developed as a Frontline assault/defense Droid, able to respond to both organic and other droid threats. Simple, unpretentious, and made in mass quantities with cheap but difficult to work and repair Duranium Alloy, it's Extreme fire rate is a brute force way of making it a potentially deadly threat to Force Users armed with Lightsabers up close, to the point even Soresu users should be wary. Indeed, the smartest thing for a Jedi or Sith to do is try and ambush it from the sides or behind, because trying to take it frontally is often a suicide option for those who do not have very good protection. The fact legions of them can be produced means they can be marched into the thick of Battle to soak up heavy fire while delivering potentially devastating bursts of fire in return over long ranges, the EFR Heavy Battle Droid sacrifices speed and intelligence for being hard to kill and shooting so fast an enemy can have twenty bolts planted in them before they can process the first few shots coming towards them.
In a shocking move for such a powerful company, The EFR Droid is priced at only a relatively measly 1400 Credits to the Alliance Military but only 500 credits for the non lethal Civilian Version to the Government of Alderaan and 700 credits for the Military version. Civilian Versions come with only the relatively painless stun setting and ten shot burst, and programmed strictly for bodyguard duty (This can be reprogrammed or sliced however).
Gun-Works first entry in the Battle Droid market, it's shockingly low price for a Heavy Battle Droid makes it a very tempting product for armies on a budget.

- Droid with very thick Duranium Plating, making it highly resistant to Lightsaber Blows
- Ion Surge Shielding to protect against Ion Damage
- Weapon power source and firing mechanism is the same as that of the Clone Marine Chaingun, enabling it to both recharge it's shots and fire at extreme rates.
- Excellent for Frontline Assaults or bodyguard duty
- Improved Targeting protocols
- Can be fired in a stun setting that retains the accuracy, range, *some of the Droid damaging capability and potentially shield ignoring capabilities of the kill setting
- Heavy Weapons Guy: The main weapon of the Droid fires a twin Barrel Ion Blaster Cannon at the rate of a Clone Marine Chaingun due to its power source and firing mechanism being the same as that weapon, giving it not only high damage but extreme rates of fire enough to potentially overwhelm not only many kinds of Lightsaber Defense on its own, as the fire rate is so intense even those Force Users who are especially talented at blast Deflection and blast redirection are are potentially at risk, especially if faced with more than one, but only two can choke up a narrow passage/street completely and it can fire a total of up to 400 shots before it's power source has to recharge. Get two, and you can provide almost continuous cover fire. Worse, the Ion Bolts can possibly ignore certain kinds of shields and, while not necessarily armor piercing, fires enough shots at once that conventional armor could possibly shred or melt away from such relentless fire. The Ion Bolts are powerful enough to damage and destroy Droid circuits, but also maim and kill organics, as well as damage light to medium armored vehicles, especially if multiple Droids are firing at one.
- Tough: It's Duranium shell is thick, allowing it to withstand many hits before falling, is difficult to cut through with lightsabers or vibroweapons, pierce with slugthrowers or blasters, and is highly resistant to flame
- Range: Up to 300 meters
- Accuracy: Excellent at hitting moving targets, especially very fast moving ones with it's twitch aim
- Mercy: It's stun setting retains the accuracy, range, and potential shield piercing capabilities of the lethal setting, and feed only causes minor pinching sensation on contact followed by potential hours of intense dizziness after being knocked out for potentially hours. Plus, if on the stun setting, the power source recharges the weapon faster (14 seconds recharge time after full clip expenditure on lethal setting, 7 seconds after full expenditure on stun setting) Plus, on the stun setting, the chaingun system never overheats, no matter how often full auto is used. Civilian Versions have only stun setting, and ten shot burst fire. Military version is twenty shot burst fire on stun or lethal settings
- Strong: Wookiee Level Strength with a possibly Devastating Punch
- Repair Difficulty: Due to the use of Duranium, which has an unusually high melting point, if the Droid's armor is damaged, it may be difficult to fix with common tools. It can be done, but at the cost of potentially wearing out tools or burning out the power sources on welders. Substandard Alloys may have to be patched onto the chassis in an emergency. That said, if you're prepared to slap heavy amounts of scrap in the right places you can at least get it to soak up a few more shots before it fails for good, even if it's lightsaber defense might be compromised
- Construction Time: Shaping the Duranium properly for armor takes twice the length of time as normal for Durasteel
- Accuracy Limits: Within a seventy meter range, it is frightfully accurate, basically almost an automatic sniper rifle, beyond those ranges, it's accuracy drops ten percent every twenty meters past it's optimal range
- Lightsaber Limits: Duranium is not Cortosis Weave: At most it can take up to two full contact lightsaber blows before it's armor starts to fail
- Slow: It's heavy chassis means it can only jog at at a slow pace
- Dumb Muscle: Let it guard stationary defenses. Let it guard front gates. Let it patrol hallways and such or escort/guard you or a prisoner to where you or they need to be. Use it on fortifications for simple, brute force assaults, or to provide covering fire. But don't get fancy. It's about as smart as a B1. It's best use is basically a compact mobile Turret and it has trouble reacting to complex tactics
- Overheat: The Duranium Alloy it's blasters are made of allow it to mitigate the intense heat produced by firing rapidly, but even Duranium has limits, and shuts the weapon systems down if forced to expend it's full clip at full auto twice in a row for about two minutes. Because of this, it usually fires in bursts of twenty shots at a time rather than full auto unless it's an emergency where it has to potentially obliterate whatever is in front of it. They often travel in squads of four as a result to mitigate this in an open battlefield, with two droids on burst and the other two on full auto
- Sonic: Sonic Weapons shatter it's internals
- Cryo: Cryo weapons render it's armor brittle and useless
- Acid: Acid eats right through it's armor
- Gravitic: Gravitic weapons rend and warp the armor and circuits
- Recoil: It must stay still when firing it's weapons to properly control them
- Lock on: It takes a few seconds to get a proper lock on a single target for maximum potential accuracy. Stay behind cover or try to break it's line of slight by attempting flanking
- Hackable: It's wirelessly hackable, and it's software protection can only withstand very low level slicing attempts
- Stun Weakness: The ion damage is heavily weakened on stun setting, to the point the Droid may have to expend up to three full clips to bring down even a single Droid
- Ammo Chew: It's extreme rate of fire means in full auto it will chew through it's ammo pool in 2.5 seconds, leading to very short, controlled bursts most times of a quarter second.
