Elaynes Trial by the Ancestors( whoever)

Elayne couldn't believe it.. she had been told she could do the trial.. so here she waited outside the temple.. it was crazy to think that she was here. She took a deep breath... She had hoped Cai could of made it but he wasn't on the planet.. it was probably better that way.. She wasn't quite sure all that was going to happen, but it was time. She waited to go in and approach the alter.. but until called she stood by. It was nerve racking.. and an very important moment in her life.

A bony finger came from the darkness and lightly brushed the curve of Elayne's cheek.

"Hello young one," her voice was scratchy, like leaves fluttering against a strong wind. From the shadows of the cave from which the alter stood, Kytarra, shaman of Singing Mountain Clan, bore her milky white gaze upon the younger witch.

"What brings you here?"

Elayne jumped slightly until she looked up at her sister and noticed it was Kytarra. and smiled, dispite her nervousness, she was with family now.

" I came here for my trial by the ancestors, Sister"

Elayne was more relaxed but even her sister couldn't keep elayne's mind of the fact she was here for a very special ritual. One that meant that was going to no longer be an initiate.

There came a bark of a cackle, the length of Kytarra's braids jingling with the motion as her bony figure shook.

Finally, the laughter stopped. Those bony fingers lightly upturned Elayne's face up, "Come sister, let me take a good look at you." Eyes like a dead fish bore straight into Elyane's eyes, glazed over by cataracts. Power came radiating from the older shaman, the dirt encrusted nails lightly digging into the supple witch's flesh.

"What makes you ready for the trials?" she asked, a thick snow white eyebrow arching up.

"I have trained for this with Ina, have venture out on my own.. and defeated a horrible dark amulet that tried to claim my heart. and learned some of the ways of the Jai " She said, standing straight, and not intimidated by her sister.. because as powerful as she was, it was still her sister. Elayne stood still for Kytarra, waiting as she looked her over. Elayne had light muscles from their lifestyle, and a dagger on her belt, wearing the normal garb or their people.

"Hhhhnnnnhh..." fingers released Elayne's chin, her hand dropping to her side, "Dhat you 'ave. Dhat you 'ave." Without a sound, Kytarra made headway over towards a small cut out section of the cave. From there, she drew a flintstone dagger, and a small bowl.

"Da trials of da ancients be no easy task," she set the bowl down in front of the altar, placing the knife next to it. "Dhey test your spirit... heart... and soul." bony fingers began shifting through her waist, where she pulled out one of the many pouches she had. From there, she pulled out a small root, gnarled and a dark brown hue.

"Yer very essence.....to see where yer heart truly lies," With a small knife she took from it's sheath at her waist, she cut bits and pieces of the tuber into the bowl. Setting the knife down as well as the root, a small pestle soon ground the bits into a thick paste.

"Ya be facing yer fears sister...." the light of the fire flickered against the milky white eyes. To the right, where a small bubbling spring brought forth fresh water, the Shaman added the cool liquid to the paste. Another rock of her wrist had the mixture turn into a frothy drink of sorts.

"Are ya ready for dat?" she asked, holding the bowl for her to drink.

Elayne listened and observed Kytarra, she was wise and was speaking the truth, " I can do it, I am ready to bare my heart and face my fears. " She said, gulping a bit, it was true, she was going to have to face alot in this trial, but she felt she could do it. Elayne had not worked this hard to not succeed.

Elayne took the dish, and drank it.

There came a curt nod after Elayne drank the hallucinogenic potion; one would even say a slight manic expression bathing the elder's pallid visage.

Now it was all up to her. She would face her fears. Her doubts. Her own trials by ancestors as they would change her to her Fate.
