Elections for Supreme Chancellor.
The faction staff have talked and we've agreed to hold elections for the Republic.
In order to be on the ballot you simply need to post your character in this thread. Anything other than posting you wish your character to be considered, and perhaps a short paragraph speech will be deleted.
The election process is simple, we will have two weeks of campaigning, where characters can hold debates in character and such, followed by one week for your vote to be cast. This will be a secret ballot. To cast your ballot simple PM your vote to both myself and the head of the Army, Jak (Unless he has an alt in the race, in which case we will find another neutral party). We will tally votes and tell you the winners.
Who can vote? Every republic character can vote. If you have multiple characters you can vote multiple times. However we are putting trust in the player base here. We are trusting you to vote IC and not OOC and if a player is clearly just alt padding for OOC reasons their votes may be discarded.
Who may run? Currently the only restriction is in line with the Ruusan reformation that says Jedi cannot run for office. This may be changed at a later date through IC means. OOC though I think its fair to let some of these politicians get to play the part though. Otherwise you only need to be a Republic Citizen.
Does this give the player Faction Admin Status? No. Faction Admins are OOC positions which do not necicarily reflect the PCs in game status. Plus if these elections go well we will be doing these more often and it will be a pain to keep switching Admins up.
